We told you about the child-driven terror tale Absence yesterday, and now we have a quick look at the first artwork for it. Mind you, it's really low-res, but we'll be swapping it out with the high-resolution version as soon as we get it!
Directed by Jimmy Loweree from a script by Loweree and and Jake Moreno, Absence stars Erin Way, Eric Matheny, Ryan Smale, and Stephanie Scholz. Look for it in limited theatrical release on July 5, 2013.
Synopsis
In Jimmy Loweree’s striking horror feature debut Absence, doctors are baffled when a young expectant mother, Liz (Erin Way, “Alphas”), wakes to find her nearly-to-term pregnancy disappear overnight. The police are investigating the situation as a missing child case and only her husband, Rick (Eric Matheny, J. Edgar), and brother, Evan (Ryan Smale, Damage), trust her version of events. Told in the “found footage” style, Evan looks for answers by filming his sister’s experience. »

"Grimm" was recently renewed for a third season, and big surprises are in store for the finale, which airs on May 21st, with David Giuntoli teasing that one of the cast may not live through it.
We recently chatted with the leading man to discuss "Grimm" and its evolution up to this point. Giuntoli also stated that there is a chance we will see the return of Nick's mother, Kelly Burkhardt, played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, in tonight's episode, "Endangered," while Nick and Juliette continue trying to repair their relationship.
Before getting into the hardcore plot points of what is ahead, I chatted with David about some of the things he likes to do for fun, including what video games he plays--hey, I am BioGamer Girl after all!
Amanda Dyar: Hey, David. I want to know- on the show Nick never really gets a lot of downtime. So what »

To tide you over until then, here are some stills and a preview of what's ahead when Nick investigates the possibility of aliens within the Wesen world.

I am disappointed. Today Syfy executives decided to not renew Alphas for a third season. It was a great show about people with different extraordinary abilities. Even I can say that it had its ups and downs, and that was reflected in its ratings as well, but at its core, the idea and the characters were great and the actors all really worked well together.
Here is the statement from Syfy:
“Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”
Alphas starred David Strathairn, Warren Christie, Ryan Cartwright, Malik Yoba, Azita Ghanizada, Erin Way, and Laura Mennell.
