What is Movie News After Dark? It’s a nightly celebration of what’s happening in the world of entertainment. It also usually manages to get in a few zingers. We begin tonight with an image of Wei Tang, an actress you may recognize as the gal who had a lot of sex with Tony Leung in that Ang Lee movie, Lust, Caution. She’s also a talented actress. Which is why she’s on the shortlist of actresses who could play the Asian Bond girl role in Bond 23, which is now rumored to be partially shooting in China. In the late Qing Dynasty, Liu (Donnie Yen) is a papermaker, leading a simple life with his wife Ayu (Wei Tang) and their two sons. Into their remote village comes Detective Xu (Takeshi Kaneshiro), who is investigating the deaths of two bandits during a robbery. Dragon (Wu Xia) Goes to the Weinstein Company

The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today that it has acquired from We Distribution the distribution rights for the world, outside of Asia and French speaking Europe, to the martial arts, film noir epic Dragon (Wu Xia). TF1 are already confirmed to distribute the film in France. The film will have its world premiere as part of the official selection at this year's Cannes Film Festival. A 2011 theatrical release is expected in the Us.

Director, Peter Ho-Sun Chan, is one of Asia's most celebrated filmmakers, his critical and box office hits include award winning Warlords, which he produced and directed, and Dragon (Wu Xia), Peter Ho-Sun Chan brings to the screen an action-packed tale of crime, family and redemption.

"Liu Jinxi - What kind of man are you?" There's a film that's premiering at the Cannes Film Fest this month from Chinese director Peter Chan that's called Wu Xia, or just Swordsmen translated to English. The martial arts action-drama stars Takeshi Kaneshiro, Wei Tang and Donnie Yen (who recently appeared in Legend of the Fist as Chen Zhen) as a sinful martial arts expert wants to start a new tranquil life, only to be hunted by a determined detective and his former master. Twitch recently found the first teaser trailer for Wu Xia and it kicks quite a bit of ass, can't wait to see this in Cannes. It does have English subtitles - enjoy!
