UnREAL's Johanna Braddy Will Be a 'Traditional' and 'Feminine' Bride

26 August 2016 6:30 AM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

We've already seen Johanna Braddy as a bride, but this time, it's going to be for real. For Braddy and her on-screen love, Freddie Stroma, the chemistry was real, but unlike her character in the Lifetime series, she is not going to leave him at the altar. The UnREAL costars got engaged in May and they've already got some of the details ironed out. "We're getting married around the holidays this year," she told People at Good Housekeeping's 2016 Awesome Women Awards celebration Thursday night. "Freddie's family is coming from Europe and Asia and we're all gonna be together. So that's gonna be different, »

‘UnREAL’ Season 2: Executive Producers Explain a Rocky Season and Its Explosive Ending

8 August 2016 11:03 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

[This interview discusses spoilers for the second season finale of “UnREAL,” “Friendly Fire.” Do not read if you have not watched the episode.]

Following a season where Rachel (Shiri Appleby) and Quinn (Constance Zimmer) were even more ruthless than usual — and an Emmy nomination for both the show’s writers and Zimmer — Lifetime’s “UnREAL” finished its second season Monday night with a cliffhanger worthy of soap opera: a big, messy car crash with Coleman (Michael Rady) and Yael (Monica Barbaro), just as they were on their way to spread the news of “Everlasting’s” misdeeds. Adding melodrama to soap, the instigator of the crash is none other than Jeremy (Josh Kelly), Rachel’s erstwhile boyfriend and would-be rapist.

It’s an over-the-top finish, but that’s been de rigueur for the show’s second season. The first season of the show drew accolades; the second has inspired, in some critical circles, a sigh of disappointment. An already unwieldy plot quickly bounced off the rails as the characters struggled to make relevant the casting of a black Suitor Darius Beck »

[Editor’s Note: The below article contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of “UnREAL.” Read on at your own risk.]

UnREAL” Season 2 came to an end with a crash — literally. Jeremy (Josh Kelly) attempted to prove his devotion to Rachel by orchestrating a lethal-looking car accident for her would-be accusers (Coleman and Yael). And though the TV report revealing as much said there were “no reports on the conditions of the occupants,” Constance Zimmer is “pretty sure” they’re dead.

The Emmy-nominated star — up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series this year — spoke with IndieWire about the Season 2 finale, sharing her perspective on the season and what she expects is coming in Season 3. Zimmer noted how she was “really upset” over Quinn and Rachel’s ongoing rivalry in Season 2, citing how the show is better when its women are together.

But there’s still an important lesson for viewers to learn from their infighting, just as Zimmer puts a huge importance on Quinn’s struggles in the final two episodes — specifically, »

Last Week’S Review: ‘UnREAL’ Teases ‘Guerrilla’ Warfare Between Rachel & Quinn

This Week on ‘UnREAL’…

After lighting the match last week, “UnREAL” put the fire to the fuse and set off a nuclear bomb between Quinn and Rachel. Changing things up from the traditional fight patterns, they went about the duo’s split in a subtle matter throughout most of the episode, hinting at a possible reconnection early on before blowing it all to hell by episode’s end.

To be clear, Quinn is in the right, which everyone should be able to tell by the fact that Quinn is telling the truth and Rachel is lying.  Moreover, Sarah Shapiro and her team of writers illustrated just how far gone Rachel is by providing a parallel relationship to Quinn and Rachel in Darius (B.J. Britt) and Romeo (Gentry White). “Do you have any idea what that’s like?” Romeo yelled »

UnREAL Premiere Recap: Two of a Kind

6 June 2016 7:59 PM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

What is it about reality-show dudes whose names start with “Ch”?

This season of ABC’s The Bachelorette has a deli-meat-scarfing, ‘roid-raging Chad. And in a similarly troubling turn of events, this season of Lifetime’s UnREAL has a spear-throwing, Paleolithic-lifestyle-retreating Chet, who shows up just in time to seriously threaten Rachel and Quinn’s plan for, if not world domination, than certainly network queen bee-hood.

As much as I’d like to laugh off Mr. I-Lost-50-Lbs.-and-Found-My-Gonads-Gumption’s bid to reclaim Everlasting for his own, he just may succeed. And what does that say about our two favorite lady bosses, »

TV Review: ‘UnReal’ Season 2

2 June 2016 1:00 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Watching the second season of “UnReal” is like doing shots while riding a roller-coaster — a lot of dangerous ideas are careening around, and things could go off the rails at any moment. But what a bracing thrill-ride it is.

As was the case with the show’s debut season, which significantly boosted the reputation of Lifetime’s scripted programming, “UnReal’s” second go-round begins in highly addictive fashion, even if some of the gut-churning swerves in the new season’s first two episodes carry a frightening degree of difficulty. But it’s the show’s willingness to simultaneously plummet into dark places, plunge ahead with social commentary and provide pitch-dark satire that makes watching it such an exciting experience. Reality producers know you don’t want to be bored, and “UnReal” follows that mandate.

Not satisfied with targeting just the various kinds of misogyny lurking in the TV industry with its combination sledgehammer-and-scalpel approach, »
