The first Pitch Perfect was a pleasant surprise, and it's looking like lighting may strike twice with Pitch Perfect 2. The first trailer for the sequel, which sees the original's producer and co-star Elisabeth Banks take on directing duties, has hit and it shows off a plot very reminiscent of kids sports movies with the Barden Bellas (who include a returning Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and new comer Hailee Stanfield) entering the world a ccapella championships (they even take on their evil, efficient German counterparts). The humour and music that made the original so enjoyable returns, with the trailer packing in some genuine laughs. Check it out below. Released: 15th May 2015 »

Universal Pictures just released the very first Pitch Perfect 2 trailer and it looks as though the musical comedy sequel could be another big winner. Not only did the first film turn out to be a surprise hit and claim over $113 million at the worldwide box office, but it also helped Anna Kendrick's rendition of "Cups" hit #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and wound up amassing such an enthusiastic following that Universal decided to bring the original film back to theaters in sing-along format. As someone who's watched Pitch Perfect time and time again, there's a lot riding on the sequel and based on this first look at the film, actress/producer-turned-first time feature director Elizabeth Banks may have nailed it. Forget the national college a cappella competition. In Pitch Perfect 2 it's all about the world championship of a cappella. We've got familiar songs and faces, "Cups" is still »

The Barden Bellas are back, back, back and this time they're taking on the world, as revealed in the new trailer for Pitch Perfect 2. The trouble is that the world doesn't like America, and Beca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick) and the gang are going to have to sing (and dance) like never before if they're going to make it. And, with any luck, not vomit as much as they did in the first one. As well as the returning cast you were hoping for - Rebel Wilson as "Fat Amy", Adam DeVine as the leader of the Treblemakers, Bumper Allen, and many more - there are plenty of new names to look forward to, including Hailee Steinfeld as Bella newcomer Emily. You've also got mud wrestling, some magic involving dry leaves and the concept of "Loser" as a language. The first film came out in 2012, sneakily hauling in $113 million at the box office, »

In 2012, the a cappella-themed "Pitch Perfect," produced for $17 million and stocked with a cast of largely unknown actors, was released and became a sleeper smash. It wasn't an out-of-the-box sensation, but it grew through word-of-mouth and thanks to its unstoppably best-selling soundtrack album. When all was said and done, it amassed $113 million worldwide and sold tons and tons of copies on home video. So a sequel became, by the end of the long and fruitful run of "Pitch Perfect," something of an inevitable conclusion. Come the summer of 2015, "Pitch Perfect 2" will be upon us and based on this just-released trailer, it can't come soon enough.

To think it was all those years ago, well 2012, that Pitch Perfect became the surprise smash-hit for a top class cast with a unique approach, singing in the spirit of Glee and similar but bringing with a great sense of humour and a pretty impressive narrative play – I think it had a lot to do with the awesome Anna Kendrick.
It’s great to have them back for Pitch Perfect 2 and we saw that cast photo with a whole host returning and reuniting, plus news of newcomers and the rest of the newcomers right here. There’s not too much news on what to expect, bar the singing of course, but we’re sure it’s a whole host of feel good that follows Fat Amy and Beca through their senior year at Barden University.

We're so psyched for next year's release of Pitch Perfect 2, keeping up on plot details and new cast members, and now Entertainment Weekly is giving us another peek at the sequel on this week's cover. Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, and Anna Kendrink posed in colorful costumes, while the cover story gives away one detail: Beca (Kendrick) will be starting her internship at a recording company. Beyond that, costar and director Elizabeth Banks had some funny comments about choosing Pitch Perfect 2 as her feature directorial debut. "This is the stupidest idea I've ever had. My first movie is this huge studio movie that a lot of people care about that also happens to be a musical with massive dance numbers. I don't know what I was thinking." We do, and we couldn't be more confident in her. »
