CBS Announces June 29th Premiere Date for Zoo Season 3

If you've found in recent years that Zoo has replaced Under the Dome in giving you some thrills and chills in the summer TV season, then you may be pleased to know that CBS has announced that the third season of Zoo will premiere on Thursday, June 29th, at 10:00pm Et.

Press Release: CBS today announced its summer schedule, including the new event series Salvation, the new live-action game show Candy Crush, the third season of Zoo, based on James Patterson’s #1 bestselling novel, and the return of the summer sensation Big Brother.

Big Brother, hosted by Julie Chen, will once again have three weekly episodes. The hit reality series debuts with a special two-hour premiere on Wednesday, June 28 (8:00-10:00 Pm, Et/Pt), followed by the Thursday broadcast on June 29 (9:00-10:00 Pm, Et/Pt), Sunday’s installment on July 2 (8:00-9:00 Pm, Et/Pt »

CBS’ summer schedule is here, bringing with it new seasons of “Big Brother” and “Zoo” and brand new hot-weather fare like live game show “Candy Crush” and thriller “Salvation.”

Big Brother” will be back with three new episodes a week for its 19th season starting on Wednesday, June 28.

On Sunday, July 9, “Candy Crush” comes on the scene. In the live game show, teams of two people use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology. Matt Kunitz, Peter Levin, Russell Binder, John Quinn, Nicki Sheard, VP Brand at King, and Sebastian Knutsson are executive producers for Pulse Creative in association with Lionsgate Television, King Ltd. and CBS Television Studios. Knutsson, the creator of Candy Crush Saga, is King’s Chief Creative Officer and is one of the founders of the company.

Life imitates art, and so it is that Heinz is now running an ad campaign created by Don Draper on “Mad Men.” Suggesting that the idea was truly ahead of its time, Heinz actually passed on the idea in the show; now, however, they’ve apparently seen the light. Ketchup itself is conspicuously absent from the ads, which featuring close-ups of fries, steak and a cheeseburger under the words “Pass the Heinz.”

Showtime is shelling out for more “Billions.” The network has renewed the Paul Giamatti-Damian Lewis Wall Street drama for a third season, Variety has learned.

“‘Billions’ continues to be a show on the rise, growing not only in audience, but in critical buzz and cultural relevance,” said David Nevins, president and CEO of Showtime Networks Inc. “It offers a unique mix of pure entertainment with sly commentary on our current have/have-not economy. Season 2 is off to a tremendous start, and has only whetted our audience’s appetite for what will come in Season 3.”

Anna Wintour waited patiently at the bar to give Damian Lewis a hug just as he arrived Monday night at Cipriani in lower Manhattan for the season two premiere of “Billions.”
