And the phenomenon comes to Kolkata after 8 shows in Mumbai. Xoxo Lounge, Saltlake (Kolkata) is hosting Monday Premiere in association with Large Short Films. Having created a stir online with more than 225000 fans on Facebook with directors like Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra, Chakri Toleti and Samar Khan making short films… And hundreds of talented indie film makers who are making a mark with stunning short films, Large Short Films goes on-ground from online.
Monday Premiere will now be a regular feature in Xoxo, Kolkata. A new short film will be screened every Monday along with a collection of some famous and some unseen award winning short films from across India. Both aspiring and established screenwriters have three events lined up to look forward to: The Indian Screenwriters’ Conference, Nfdc’s Screenwriters’ Lab and a masterclass on screenwriting at Ficci Frames. The conference happens from February 25 to 27, the application deadline for the lab is March 1; and the master class will run from March 12-14.

The fast approaching 3rd Indian Screenwriters’ Conference is a three- day journey into the current trends of film and television writing organised by the Film Writers’ Association (Fwa), Mumbai. The conference will be held at St. Andrews Auditorium, Bandra.

On the contrary it was more difficult to make this short film than most full-length feature films. Because there is no luxury of time, locations, budgets, etc. The story has to be gripping enough. Every second. It took more than 8 ideas and 9 drafts to arrive at the final screenplay. It’s been quite a journey.”
