Sometimes the best way to sort out your opinions about the Oscars is to enjoy a Desi Arnaz-sized drunken stupor and yell a lot about the year's nominees. That's what happened this year when I joined YouTube maven Rj Aguiar, YouTube bad-ass Miles Jai, and actual actor Allison Lane to hash out this year's nominees in "Drunk Oscar Picks." Damn. I get loud and I'm sorry. But I will not apologize for choosing Edward Norton over Jk Simmons. ...

The final push is on for the creators of Judas Kiss, as their Kickstarter event to purchase the Red camera to be used on The Dark Place and Something Like Summer (and to help other filmmakers) ends on Sunday, March 10.
Judas Kiss was the multi-award winning festival hit of 2011, scoring a few writing awards along with showing the world that former gay porn star Sean Paul Lockhart (Aka Brent Corrigan) was more than the sum of his…parts, so to speak. Now Judas Kiss actors Lockhart and Timo Descamps are reuniting for The Dark Place, along with new cast members Blaise Embry (Weeds), Eduardo Rioseco (Parenthood), Travis Richey (Untitled Web Series) and Allison Lane (Going Down in La La Land).
What they need is the help of many or just a few “heroes” to reach their $25,000 goal. Please go to their Kickstater site and contribute what you can. Because the...

Blue Seraph Productions announced that Travis Richey (Pretty Little Liars) will join the cast of The Dark Place, the mystery-thriller written by Jody Wheeler and to be helmed by Judas Kiss director J.T. Tepnapa.
Richey is famous for his brief turn as Inspector Spacetime -a running gag on the critically underrated NBC comedy series Community- that inspired (after NBC and Sony sort of said, “Yeah, no”) him and writing partner Eric Loya to create Untitled Web Series About A Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time. That web series was a huge success (hailed by USA Today as one of the Best TV on the Web in 2012) and the people that made it are now preparing to begin production on Season Two.
They’re also working on a “prequel” episode that will bridge the gap between season one and two, and you can visit their Kickstarter campaign to learn how you can help.

Actor Blaise Embry has been announced for the lead role of Keegan Dark opposite Eduardo Rioseco in the new gay mystery thriller The Dark Place, written Jody Wheeler (producer of Judas Kiss) and directed by J.T. Tepnapa. Embry, whose credits include Disney's Suite Life On Deck and a memorable turn on Showtime's Weeds, will play a troubled young man who returns to his family's wine estate to make peace with his mother, only to find a conspiracy which casts him and his boyfriend as his mother's killer. “We’ve landed a real talent with Blaise," says director Tepnapa. “His mix of bravado and vulnerability illuminates a character I believe will really connect with audiences.”

Blue Seraph Productions announced the casting of Blaise Embry and Eduardo Rioseco for director J.T. Tepnapa’s follow up film to the indie hit Judas Kiss, the mystery-thriller, The Dark Place. Embry and Rioseco join already announced actors Sean Paul Lockhart and Timo Descamps (both in Judas Kiss) as well as Going Down in La La Land’s Allison Lane.
Embry will play Keegan Dark, a troubled young man who returns home to reconcile with his estranged mother, who has been running the family winery estate all by herself. But all does not go as planned and Keegan and his boyfriend (Timo Descamps) are soon caught up in a web of deceit and violence as his return unleashes a dark conspiracy that could see him as the prime suspect in a murder plot and the destruction of everything he holds dear.

Brace yourselves. This list of the Top 100 Greatest Gay Movies is probably going to generate some howls of protest thanks to a rather major upset in the rankings. Frankly, one that surprised the hell out of us here at AfterElton.
But before we get to that, an introduction. A few weeks ago we asked AfterElton readers to submit up to ten of their favorite films by write-in vote. We conducted a similar poll several years ago, but a lot has happened culturally since then, and a number of worthy movies of gay interest have been released. We wanted to see how your list of favorites had changed.
We also wanted to expand our list to 100 from the top 50 we had done previously. We figured there were finally enough quality gay films to justify the expansion. And we wanted to break out gay documentaries onto their own list (You'll find the...

I'll get this out of the way up front: I'm not much of a fan of romances of any sexual orientation. But I am a fan of cultural curiosities, so sitting through two new polar-opposite romances in a single week provided its own brand of overwrought appeal. While the diverting (though a bit overearnest) Zac Efron vehicle/longform Hgh infomercial The Lucky One is poised to invade the hearts of millions this weekend, another romance of a very different breed opens in limited release in New York City (with a run in La to follow in May).
Going Down in La-la Land tells the story of Adam (Matthew Ludwinski), an aspiring actor who relocates from NYC to Los Angeles to live with his longtime friend and fellow fame-seeker, Candy (Allison Lane). Going Down in La-La Land | Review - aGLIFF 2011 (Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival)
Director: Caspar Andreas Writers: Caspar Andreas (screenplay), Andy Zeffer (novel) Starring: Matthew Ludwinski, Allison Lane, Caspar Andreas, Michael Medico Going Down in La-La Land, directed by Caspar Andreas, follows the story of young, beautiful Adam (Matthew Ludwinski). Having finished acting school in New York City, Adam decides to move to Hollywood in order to pursue his dreams of making it big as an actor. He moves in with his best friend Candy (Allison Lane), herself an aspiring actress. Candy, however, lacks Adam’s motivation to even look for a job of any sort, let alone an acting gig, much to her husband’s annoyance. Candy’s primary concerns are her looks and having a rich man take care of her, and Hollywood gossip of course. Candy convinces Adam to join her gym with his last few dollars as she regards it as the best place to network. She isn’t entirely wrong about this.
