'American Idol' Finalist Casey Abrams Caught Liz Lee's Eye: The MTV News Quote Of The Day

"I like the Seth Rogen-y, quirky [guy]. Like, I would hang out with this guy. I would play video games with this guy. He's like my friend Sully. He's a Sully. It's like a complete transformation. He's cute, nerdy, quirky Seth Rogen, and then he turns into this Antonio Banderas, attractive, mysterious thing. It's incredible — on a dime."

-"My Life as Liz" star Liz Lee, telling MTV News' Jim Cantiello about Casey Abrams, her favorite contestant on the 10th season of "American Idol." Following the selection of the show's 13 finalists on Thursday night (March 3), Lee was a special guest on "Idol Party Live," where she discussed her favorite "Idol" contestants (she was most interested in Abrams and Paul McDonald, though she thinks it's still anybody's competition).

Over the course of her time on the show, Lee also revealed an interesting connection she has to a former "American Idol" champion.

Which 'American Idol' Women Will Move On?

Now that Wednesday night's (March 2) episode of "American Idol" (which featured the 12 remaining women in the competition) is in the books, each one of the two dozen contestants has gotten one last song to sing to try to earn a spot as a finalist. On Thursday night (March 3), "American Idol" will reveal the top five vote-getters for each sex (creating a field of 10) as well as the three wild card selections (one per judge) that will give us the 13 people who will have the opportunity to become the winner of this season of "American Idol."

Once that field is chosen, be sure to tune in to "Idol Party Live," hosted by MTV News "American Idol" expert Jim Cantiello. This week's episode (which airs on MTV.com at 10 p.m. Eastern) features Entertainment Weekly "Idol" reporter Annie Barrett and "My Life as Liz" star Liz Lee.

Wednesday night's episode was a

'American Idol' Recap: Pia Toscano, Lauren Alaina Clean Up On Ladies' Night

Wednesday night (March 2) was Ladies Night on "American Idol." Half-priced appletinis! Your friends get in for free! DJ Suave will be spinning the jams he thinks you love all night long! Casey Abrams' facial hair will not — I repeat not — be allowed entry!

In actuality, the Top 12 girls show meant half-hearted versions of previous "Idol" stars' breakthrough singles, half-successful up-dos and a few stealth performers who have been laying in the background waiting for the first opportunity for their competition to attack.

(Speaking of waiting to strike, it's about time my own "Idol" show emerged from the bushes to devour the Internet. "Idol Party Live" premieres this Thursday night (March 3) at 10 p.m. Eastern on MTV.com. My co-host will be Entertainment Weekly's hilarious Annie Barrett, and our guest will be Liz Lee, star of the hit MTV show "My Life As Liz." Come hang with us!)

'My Life as Liz' Season 2: Liz Lee's 10 reasons she doesn't miss being cool

MTV's adorable redhead, Liz Lee, is back for Season 2 of "My Life as Liz" premiering on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 11 p.m. Et.

Things have changed since we last saw Liz not even by a bit, but a lot. She's no longer the senior girl with the nerd herd circling her. In Season 2, Liz says goodbye to Burleson, Texas and hello to New York City.

Our "Star Wars-loving" heroine has moved more than 1,500 miles away from the conservative small town to attend art school. And as the city likes to do, it's beating the poor girl up.

Some things don't change, though. This season promises more angst, more of the robot dance and more crush-worthy boys.

Liz isn't looking back on her once-cool life with doe-eyed nostalgia either. The awkward star tells Zap2it exclusively why she doesn't mind leaving that life behind.

Here are Liz Lee's 10 reasons she doesn't

'My Life as Liz' Kicks Off Season 2 ... But What the Hell Is It?

'My Life as Liz' Kicks Off Season 2 ... But What the Hell Is It?
Liz Lee, the skinny, red-headed, Star Wars-loving star of MTV's My Life as Liz, is adorable, and I love her. Really. But she's giving me a huge headache. Well, not her so much as the show. I'm trying to write an article about the return of the show -- season 2 begins Tuesday at 11pm -- but I'm having the damndest time describing exactly what the show is, even having watched the entire first season and the first ep of the second; and I'm afraid if I think about it too much longer, my head will explode.

So here's my best go of it: My Life as Liz is a sort-of reality show/quasi-scripted sitcom/kinda sorta like The Hills but much, much better and taking itself way less seriously/high school-ish docudrama (at least I think it's those things -- no one's really clarified), which in season 1 followed our title character (character?

The 'Dancing With The Stars' Cast Has 'The Situation' And Audrina, But What About The Other MTV All-Stars?

On Monday night (August 30), the new cast of "Dancing With the Stars" was revealed, and like previous seasons, it's an incredible cross-section of actors, musicians, athletes and whatever category Bristol Palin falls into. The headliners include two championship ring-owning athletes (Kurt Warner and Rick Fox), everyone's favorite television mom (Florence Henderson), a platinum R&B star (Brandy), an actress who once played a dancer (Jennifer Grey) and David Hasselhoff.

The lineup also includes a pair of MTV stars: "Jersey Shore" philosopher Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and "The Hills" vixen Audrina Patridge. If "Dancing With the Stars" really wanted to go all-in with the MTV crowd, they should have made the cast an all-mtv affair, featuring the following network all-stars.

Liz Lee Says Biggie Smalls Inspired Her To Move To New York: The MTV News Quote Of The Day

"Well, he talks about New York in his work, and it seemed like New York was such an inspiration to him that I thought, I need to go here. Like, it's kind of necessary to experience it."

-"My Life as Liz" star Liz Lee, talking about how late rapper the Notorious B.I.G. inspired her to move from her home in Burleson, Texas to New York City (at least partially). Lee said goodbye to her hometown on Monday night's season finale episode of "My Life as Liz," and she happened to be paying tribute to Biggie Smalls on the sad anniversary of his death (her favorite song is "Juicy," by the way).

It has been quite a transition for Liz, and watching the finale from her new home was an intense experience for her. "To see all of my friends and the look on their faces when I actually left,
