Personal Quotes (3)

Life is supposed to be good, with a few bad moments here and there, not the other way around.
Great books are wasted that stay on the shelf.
It all begins with a feeling. And art should serve that feeling, and vice versa. To me, artistic creation, whether musical, visual, or written, is a sacred thing, and I believe, in line with that, you should be in it for the right reasons. Success would be nice for all of us, but if your in it only to gloat over your face on a billboard, that's not what it's about. It should to me, at least, be about illuminating some shared truth we all understand or leading to some new truth. Film, music, etc, can and should work on at least an escapist level, but hopefully there is something in your work that can inspire or even fill some empty place in the viewer with something powerful, even if only temporary. Music and film, books, etc, should instill joy and passion, and in the best cases, remind you of who you really are, and what you want to be in life.
