Solo: A Star Wars Story footage shown in Germany, reactions are positive and suggest plenty of fan service

Disney has presented footage from Solo: A Star Wars Story at an event in Germany.

With only four months until the release of the Han Solo spin off movie, and still no trailer for the film, many fans are starting to get a little frustrated and desperate for something concrete from the film.

Well, apparently at an event in Germany, an audience was treated to actual footage from the film and the response was a positive one. Filmmaker Holger Frick posted to Facebook about the event, sharing details and his very enthusiastic take on what he saw.

“I just saw a Sneak Peak (Epk reel) of Solo – A Star Wars Story and I must say I’m really really overwhelmed of how freaggin good it looks! (nothing about the story yet!)

Alden Ehrenreich is amazing as Han Solo, and so is Donald Glover as Lando, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson

The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story — Grade It!

The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story — Grade It!
Whether Darren Criss was shooting people in the face, puking in public bathrooms or casually rubbing his crotch while standing over a sleeping couple, he sure made Wednesday’s season premiere of American Crime Story feel like the darkest episode of Glee yet.

RELATEDAmerican Crime Story: Versace Review: Season 2 Is Ok, But It’s No O.J.

I’m half-joking, but considering this is Criss’ first series-regular TV role since Blaine Anderson warbled his final warble in 2015 (not to mention Criss’ professional reunion with Glee boss Ryan Murphy), I trust you’ll overlook my inability to disassociate — at least in this first week.

First Han Solo Movie Footage Screens, So How Was It?

Fans lucky enough to be in attendance at a German Disney event were treated to an Electronic Press Kit for Ron Howard's Han Solo movie with the very first footage ever shown. Lucasfilm has been even more tight-lipped about the upcoming movie, allowing The Last Jedi to run its theatrical course. However, now that footage has been shown, a teaser or trailer is more than likely really close to being released. Star Wars fans have been skeptical of the movie, but one lucky fan in attendance has shared an enthusiastic review of the footage.

Filmmaker Holger Frick took to Facebook to share his thoughts on the first public showing of footage from Solo: A Star Wars story. Frick says that he is "really overwhelmed of how freaggin good it looks," but went on to say that nothing from the plot had been shown. However, he did say that Alden Ehrenreich

Here’s Why Danny Pudi Says He and Donald Glover Will Always Be ‘Troy and Abed’

There are few television friendships that rival that of “Community”s Troy Barnes (Donald Glover) and Abed Nadir’s (Danny Pudi) — an unlikely match that stole the hearts of fans everywhere from pretty much Episode 1. Because it’s been over two years since the series wrapped (and three since Glover’s exit), fans may be wondering if the actors are just as close as they appeared in the Dan Harmon-created series. Well, we were too, so TheWrap asked Pudi during the Television Critics Association press tour last week. And, as you may have guessed, the answer is yes. “I mean we’re, you know,...

First Reaction To Solo: A Star Wars Story Promises Lots Of Fan Service

At last, the wheels seem to be moving on the promotional campaign for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Yesterday brought us our first details on the plot in the form of a short synopsis and now, a possible first reaction to a screening of the movie has appeared online and thankfully, it’s very positive.

Apparently, a certain amount of footage from the pic was shown off at an event in Munich, Germany, leading Facebook user Holger Frick to praise what he had seen of the upcoming Star Wars prequel film. The fan had good things to say about the cast as a whole and went as far as to promise that it might capture the classic feel of the franchise that many thought was missing from The Last Jedi.

I just saw a Sneak Peak (Epk reel) of “Solo – A Star Wars Story” and I must say I’m

Star Wars: Solo - where’s all the marketing?

Ryan Lambie Jan 18, 2018

It’s little more than four months from its release, yet still no trailer. We look at the timeline for Solo's subdued marketing...

It was less than a year ago that the first official cast image emerged. There was lead actor Alden Ehrenreich, dominating the scene inside the Millennium Falcon’s cockpit. Crowded around him were his fellow actors Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke; along for the ride were the director duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, then hot off such films as 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie.

In theory, this was the start of what would inevitably a huge campaign for what in time would be Solo: A Star Wars Story - the latest in a planned series of spin-offs that explore the more obscure, previously unseen corners of the Star Wars galaxy.

First ‘Solo’ Plot Synopsis Teases Han’s Adventure

Disney/Lucasfilm have finally released the first official ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story‘ plot synopsis, and it’s only a little over four months until it’s release. We have yet to see even an official image from ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story‘, but we already know that the film has had quite the rough path to the big screen. In essence, original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller departed the project with only three weeks of shooting left (you can watch me talking about what happened here).

Almost immediately, Lucasfilm hired Ron Howard to replace the duo and re-shoot some of the footage they had previously shot. It was a this point–with roughly 10 months until it’s intended release date of May 25, 2018–that pretty much everyone expected the film to be pushed to december of this year, but alas, that never happened. Then, what seemed to be a small amount of reshoots,

Here’s Why The Solo: A Star Wars Story Trailer Has Been Delayed

Maybe it’s almost time to punch it, after all?

Amid rumors that Disney and Lucasfilm had earmarked Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s first trailer for mid-January, reports are now pointing to a debut next month instead, meaning we haven’t got long before we get to clock eyes on Alden Ehrenreich as the galaxy’s greatest smuggler.

Flanked by Emilia Clarke and Donald Glover as the ice-cool Lando Calrissian, Ehrenreich has been tasked with delivering a younger version of Han Solo, arguably one of the greatest Star Wars characters of all time – no pressure, then. And let’s face it, part of Solo’s charm was that his backstory largely remained under wraps throughout Lucasfilm’s original trilogy, so we can’t help but fear that Howard and Co. are at risk of ruining – or at the very least tarnishing – that sense of mystery.

Is This Really Why the Han Solo Movie Trailer Is Delayed?

Solo is roughly four months away from release, and only today did we get a synopsis as part of Disney's big 2018 preview. No photos though, and no hint as to when we'll actually get to see the trailer. As things chug along, with no delayed release date yet announced, could Disney be pushing an agenda that wouldn't see a movie trailer ever released? Instead playing off J.J. Abrams' mystery box conceit, with audiences getting their first look only after they buy their ticket? While that almost sounds too genius to be true, it probably is. And it sounds like the upcoming reshoots are the real reason we haven't seen anything yet.

Solo has been a tumultuous production for Disney and Lucasfilm, and it's because of shareholders who have been promised a new movie this May that the standalone adventure hasn't been bumped yet. But that doesn't mean an announcement isn't coming soon.

Solo: A Star Wars Story Synopsis Teases A Dark And Dangerous Adventure

Now that Star Wars: The Last Jedi is moving into the rearview mirror, Disney and Lucasfilm are at last pushing the promotional campaign for Solo: A Star Wars Story into gear. The upcoming prequel starring Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo has been kept tightly under wraps so far, with only the odd set photo posted on director Ron Howard’s social media giving us any clue as to the nature of the movie.

But that’s about to change, as the first official synopsis for Solo has now dropped. The short outline keeps things pretty vague, of course, but teases the scruffy-looking nerf herder encountering some other iconic characters from the Star Wars franchise.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge talks Solo: A Star Wars Story director switch-up

As we patiently await the first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge has become the latest cast member to weigh in with her thoughts on the big director switch-up, which saw Ron Howard coming in to complete the movie after Lucasfilm fired Phil Lord and Chris Miller due to creative differences.

Speaking to IGN, the Fleabag star – who is set to portray the droid character Dd-bd – shared her excitement over getting to work with Howard, as well as claiming that Lord and Miller’s influence will still be felt in the final film.

“The handover there was done with such warmth and generosity from everybody, and Ron’s just a master at his craft; he’s going to make a beautiful film out of it. You just really trust him and it was just really exciting to work with him. I mean, it would’ve been

Mesmerizing New Promo Spot For Atlanta Season 2 - "Heavy Rotation"

A great new promo spot was released for Donald Glover's Atlanta Season 2. It's called "Heavy Rotation" and it's actually quite mesmerizing. It focuses on Glover’s character staring at the camera as he rotates in and out of different settings. I dig the atmospheric tone of the promo, but it still doesn't give us anything on the plot.

What we do know about Season 2 is that it is being called Robbin' Season and it was inspired by the classic cartoon series Tiny Toons Adventures. It was previously revealed that the story will be set during the holiday season right before Christmas and New Years. It's at the time of year where there is a boost of crime in the city. So, the subtitle Robbin' Season makes sense.

The story will also continue to follow the cousins as they "work through the Atlanta music scene in order to better their

Breaking Down the Season 2 Trailer for “Atlanta”

The breakdown for season 2 of Atlanta seems to be that things are going to more of the same but in a different way to keep people guessing and, more importantly, to keep them interested. Atlanta was considered just controversial enough to be interesting and more than engaging enough to keep people’s attentions. Donald Glover has been heard to say that he wants to give people more than just the bare minimum to keep them coming back, he wants them to come back with high expectations that he’s willing and ready to meet. That’s the goal of many shows that
