Once Upon a Time's Merida Reveals the Cast Member She Loves Working With the Most

  • BuzzSugar
Once Upon a Time is full of twists and turns this season. Not only did it throw us for a major loop with the Dark Swan plot, but the show also added a few new characters to its roster. One of the most anticipated, of course, was Scottish actress Amy Manson's appearance as Merida, from Brave. Just like the fiery Pixar heroine, Manson quite literally made her mark on the show. And if you loved her portrayal just as much as we did, then you're in luck. I got the chance to talk to Manson and she revealed that Merida's storyline may not be finished quite yet. Keep reading to see what her favorite scene from this season is and which cast member she thinks could fill her shoes as Merida. Popsugar: How did you prepare for this role? Amy Manson: Yeah, oh golly. I guess half the

‘Once Upon a Time’ Bosses Tease 100th Episode, Answers to the Dark Swan’s Secrets
“Once Upon a Time” is doubling up on the action on Nov. 15, airing back-to-back episodes that promise to shed some light on Emma’s (Jennifer Morrison) terrifying transformation into the Dark Swan and reintroduce some familiar faces, including Mulan (Jamie Chung), Ruby (Meghan Ory) and Dr. Whale (David Anders).

Variety spoke with creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis ahead of the two-hour installment, in which the duo teased the conclusion of the Dark Swan arc, the impending 100th episode and what we might see in the second half of the season.

What can we expect from the back-to-back episodes? Were they conceived to be one story?

Horowitz: When we were asked to do the additional episode, it wasn’t part of the initial plan to make it a two-hour story, but what we did do is, we found what we hope is a really engaging story for both of the

Strange relations by Jennie Kermode

Recently released on the new Frightfest Presents label, Estranged is the story of January (Amy Manson), a young woman who is seriously injured in a traffic accident and returns to her family home to recuperate – with no memory of her life before the accident happened. It’s a tense, claustrophobic drama that gradually takes on a more sinister aspect as, despite growing physically stronger, January comes to feel increasingly powerless and threatened. Adam Levins, the director, is better known as a cinematographer, and one of the first things one notices about Estranged is its striking beauty – it’s a very visual film. I asked him how much this owed to his past work.

“I can’t really take the credit for the cinematography because Gary [Shaw] is a really good cinematographer and he’s older than us too – he’s worked on stuff like Moon and Fortitude – I...

Quantico Recap: You Like to Watch?

Quantico Recap: You Like to Watch?
If the surveillance exercise in this week’s Quantico is any indicator of the future agents’ ability to pick up on pertinent details, it’s no wonder that Grand Central is a smoking pile of rubble.

Why? Because the NATs pay shockingly little attention in a class designed to heighten their powers of observation, and then some even skip out on the follow-up task — with apparently no repercussions.

What happened to the sloppiness-will-not-be-tolerated policy Miranda laid down weeks back? Is she so distracted by her hellspawn (or is he?) that she can’t see her own recruits sneaking off for shower and/or car sex?

Once Upon a Time Recap: Hero Reborn

Once Upon a Time Recap: Hero Reborn

My expectations for this episode were on the low side, going in. The Merida-heavy flashback story screamed of being hokey, while Rumple’s journey as a cowering coward thus far has been, among other things, just sad.

The Storybrooke half of the episode, though, actually was quite solid and delivered a surprising amount of payoff. Having let

How to Get Away With Murder Recap: Where All the Bodies Are Buried

“She can’t die! Don’t let her die!” screams Frank Delfino, running alongside a gurney carrying a bleeding-out Annalise Keating, during this week’s “Shooting Night” flash-forward on How to Get Away With Murder. Turns out, though, that Frank’s just playing hysterical for the benefit of the facility’s security cameras. By the time he gets to his car, he looks as nonchalant as if he’s in the Keating kitchen busting Bonnie for her Great Doucheface Dalliance of 2015.

Muppets Snags Full-ish Season Order

Muppets Snags Full-ish Season Order
ABC is giving estranged lovebirds Kermit and Miss Piggy three more episodes to get their act together.

The network has ordered three additional episodes of The Muppets, bringing the rookie comedy’s Season 1 total to 16. While it’s not technically a full-season order (Aka 22-episodes), it’s nonetheless a nice vote of confidence for the series, which has seen its ratings cool off a bit from its impressive debut.

What’s more, the saucy Scot’s target is not who you think.
