After his death, a wake was held at the club of his favorite soccer (football) team, the Boca Juniors. Two of his murals decorate the team's home stadium, La Bombonera ("candy box") in Buenos Aires.
He is considered a leading figure in Argentinian contemporary art. He won many prizes, and his works have been exhibited all over the world.
He lived and worked in several cities, including Caracas, Lima, Montevideo, Paris, and New York.
