Putting together this year's best of 2012 list is akin to the buffet at my favorite barbeque restaurant. There's so many good choices, it's pretty difficult to know what to pick. 2012 was an excellent year in cinema. From Sundance in January to the slew of awards contenders in December, there was a tremendous variety of great films across every genre. Whittling down to the ten best movies was as tough a process as I've ever had writing this article. I chose my top 10 with the ideal of repeated viewing in mind. What films would stand the test of time? What films would I watch a second time if it were 3Am and I came across them on late night TV? Much like the buffet analogy, what would make me fill up my plate again and again. As we review the choices, let's start off with the films that didn't make the cut. »
Another film I sorely missed in Park City, but finally caught during its theatrical release, Benh Zeitlin’s full length debut is pure southern magic. Following directly in the stylistic footsteps of his splendidly original short, Glory At Sea, the film is about finding inner strength to overcome outrageous odds and conforming to a life almost predetermined for us. Zeitlin seems to reject these deliberations for his own enchanted aesthetic where fables and realities collide. It also doesn’t hurt to have Quvenzhané Wallis play Hushpuppy, the cute and righteous face that harbor’s a swelling, juvenile fervency that buttresses the whole picture. It will be very interesting to see where Zeitlin goes from here.
There were few films this year I was more excited for than this one. Ridiculous plot holes, broad characterizations, ridiculous old man make-up and all, this was still one of my favorites. »

If we had to give 2012 to a single fashionista—well, it would be Joan Rivers, of course. But aside from the obvious, we're looking at Anne Hathaway, Kristen "My Keds are Dragging on the Floor" Stewart or, maybe, Jennifer Lawrence. But what about 2013? Who might break out and lead the sartorial pack? Well, being us, we already have the answers, and you may breathe a sigh of relief, for Miley Cyrus is not on the list. Flat abs are nice, but they're never gonna count as an accessory. Here's our definitive list for fashionistas to watch in 2013. Diane Kruger already owned 2012. You just don't know it because you were too busy shielding your eyes from Rita Ora. Her biggest moments »

2012 was full of memorable movie moments. Moments that moved us, made us think, inspired laughter & tears and moments that surprised. When was the last time Christopher Walken really moved you? When has a Bond film looked so amazing? Were you also concerned when you heard about the casting of Anne Hathaway in both the new Batman movie and Les MISÉRABLES, one of the most beloved musicals of all time? And when was the last time you knew the outcome of a fact-based film but were on the edge of your seat during the climactic scene nonetheless? And what movie moments charmed you the most from 2012 and which ones will you remember for years to come?
In a countdown to 2013, here are some of my memorable moments and I believe at least a couple of yours:

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences should consider adding a category for Best Couple, now that 2012 has proven just how often certain performances would falter if not for the presence of an equally important supporting actor or actress. Could you imagine Ted without Mark Wahlberg? Or Bradley Cooper without Jennifer Lawrence in David O. Russell.s Silver Linings Playbook? Unlikely. As we put a cap on the cinematic year, we wanted to go back and single out the duos who turned our heads with combustible on-screen chemistry. We admit to cheating in at least one selection, and we admit an over-reliance on the Hollywood .bromance.. But we think it.s a great list. Tell us, whom did we omit? 10. Ted and Mark Wahlberg, Ted Grown men shouldn.t play with stuffed teddy bears. Unless that man is Mark Wahlberg, and the teddy bear happens to be voiced by »
Jennifer Lawrence is just like the rest of us -- except for how she's one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, of course. It turns out that the self-professed Honey Boo Boo fan loves nothing more than just staying in and watching reality television.
"I don't like going out that much. I'm kind of an old lady. After it's 11, I'm like, 'Don't these kids ever get tired?' When I'm out, I think about my couch. Like, 'It would be awesome to be on it right now. I bet there's an episode of Dance Moms on. Am I missing a new episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians?'" the 22-year-old tells Marie Claire South Africa. "I'm just stressed by the idea of missing them."
Apparently that's why she likes having her friends come to her instead of going out. What better way is there to entertain people than »
What is sexy movie star Jennifer Lawrence's New Year's resolution for 2013? Despite her incredible successes as an actress early in her career, Jennifer says she needs to be more forward at times and is hoping to learn to stand up for herself more in the coming year. The 'Hunger Games' star thinks she is a pushover and wants to learn how to be more assertive without upsetting other people. She told Marie Claire South Africa's January 2013 issue: ''My New Year's Resolution is to stand up for myself. It's hard for me. Nobody wants to be disliked. You always want to be polite and be nice. I tried to find a balance in saying what I mean and still being nice. I can't do it. I have this 'okay' attitude and everything. I end up allowing myself to get walked over and resenting it.'' Kristen Stewart thinks she's unapproachable, gets laughed at & more. As previously reported, poor Twilight Saga hottie Kristen Stewart, chatted it up with USA Today, and revealed that she has a bit of an inner mental struggle when she's the center of public attention. It turns out that she thinks people are laughing at her and making fun of her. She also thinks she's not very approachable. Kristen told them, " I feel like I'm in the sixth grade, and everyone in the room is laughing at me. Some people can come into a room and say hello to everyone, and it's fine. I'm not that person. I don't think I'm very approachable." On the other hand, she has set a good impression on major stars like Hunger Games main chick Jennifer Lawrence as she stated that Kristen is "one of the coolest people I've ever met. She's just really laid-back. She's »
Following yesterday’s number three, we have today’s number two:
The puzzling, and downright rotten, Quantum Of Solace, coupled with MGM’s financial troubles, meant Daniel Craig’s third Bond outing was heavily delayed. Trepidation of his return morphed into eager anticipation as Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road To Perdition) signed up to direct, then transformed into mouth-frothing excitement as Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem – the latter the villain of the piece – joined a cast already boasting Craig, Dame Judi Dench and Naomie Harris.
Mouths were satisfyingly wiped clean as Mendes crafted, possibly, the best Bond ever:
Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her, bringing MI6 under attack.
Reviews, News and Features contributor Esben marvelled in Mendes work, even nodding towards another great British director:
Sam Mendes created something that was brilliant, »

Jennifer Lawrence may be an Oscar-nominated actress, but given the opportunity, she'd rather relax at home than walk a red carpet. Appearing on the January cover of Marie Claire South Africa, the 22-year-old Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fan explains why she prefers to keep things low-key when she's not on set. "I don't like going out that much. I'm kind of an old lady. After it's 11, I'm like, 'Don't these kids ever get tired?' When I'm out, I think about my couch. Like, 'It would be [...] »

David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook" isn't the frontrunner for best picture many of us thought it would be, but don't tell that to the one time best director nominee. The passion project has given Russell much to be thankful for including audience awards at Toronto, Austin and the Hamptons film festivals, five Independent Spirit Awards nods, four Golden Globe Awards nominations and an impressive four SAG Awards nominations including best ensemble. "Playbook" star Jennifer Lawrence won best actress from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and Russell snagged best adapted screenplay honors from the Washington, DC Area Film Critics Association. »

Jennifer Lawrence has admitted that she wants to learn to stand up for herself more in 2013. The Hunger Games star has said that she finds it hard to attempt honesty while "still being nice". "My New Year's Resolution is to stand up for myself," she told Marie Claire South Africa. "It's hard for me. Nobody wants to be disliked. You always want to be polite and be nice. "I tried to find a balance in saying what I mean and still being nice," Lawrence explained. "I can't do it. I have this 'okay' attitude and everything. I end up allowing myself to get walked over and resenting it." Despite her goal to be more headstrong, the 22-year-old actress said that she is not fazed by the Hollywood pressure to be thin.
