As it turns out, Chris Pine will take that turn as Wonder Woman's love-interest-slash-favorite-guy-with-two-first-names, according to the Wrap. A few months ago, the actor had begun talks for the Steve Trevor role, which also reportedly could have gone to Scott Eastwood. Plot and character details are still under wraps, but if Pine's role is anything like the source material, he could play some sort of military figure with a penchant for peril. The Wrap adds that Pine's contract is a multi-year deal, meaning he could be involved in sequels and that he probably won't be involved in WB's Green Lantern Corps, after all. Patty Jenkins is still attached to direct, and Pine will co-star opposite Gal Gadot, who will be introduced as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. (Her appearance with Steve Trevor will come June 23, 2017.) Just who will pine after whom first is unknown at the moment. »

For once, a movie based on a Nicholas Sparks book appears to be populated by relatively realistic approximations of human beings dealing with relationship conflict in realistic ways. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing
I’m “biast” (con): not a fan of Nicholas Sparks
I have not read the source material
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
I think this might be the first movie based on a Nicholas Sparks novel that I haven’t hated. Oh, sure, it’s set in an American South — specifically, North Carolina — where there are, impossibly, no black people (see also: Safe Haven), and where it only ever rains as an expression of manly sadness that cannot be articulated in any other way. It uses a motif similar to The Notebook’s, in which romantic handwritten documents of a relationship — in this case, love letters — allow for flashbacks to the 1940s, »

When Paul Walker died in 2013, his brother Cody Walker, now 27, helped Universal Pictures finish "Furious 7" as a stand-in for his older brother. (Their brother Caleb did the same.) Now, Deadline reports, Cody has landed the first major acting role of his own: as a Navy soldier in "USS Indianapolis," directed by Mario Van Peebles and starring Nicolas Cage as Captain Charles McVay in an adaptation of the true 1945 story of the men who were stranded and attacked by sharks for five days in the Philippine Sea.
So far the reaction to Cody's casting has been mixed. Some fans are thrilled for him and sure Paul would be proud and happy to see his brother launching his own acting career. Other fans -- including almost everyone in the comments section under Deadline's exclusive -- are crying nepotism, wondering what Cody did to earn a major film role besides look like »

Well, really, 'live to see the day' isn't a phrase you associate with a team known as the 'Suicide Squad'. This trailer landed at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 over the weekend, and wasn't really intended to be seen by the general public for a while, but Warner Bros relented and gave the fans what they wanted.
Here's how this is going to work. »
Warner Bros. and DC have released the Comic Con Suicide Squad trailer in HD following the piracy leak late yesterday. The footage, which was supposed to be for Comic-Con Hall H attendees only, has now been officially released by the studio in a somewhat unprecedented move.
Sue Kroll, the studio’s president of Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, told Deadline:
Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. »

After waiting for what seems like a lifetime, the first Suicide Squad trailer has rolled online after being premiered at Comic-Con.
Having been filming on what is basically Cineplex’s doorstep in Toronto for more than a month, we’ve been pretty anxious to see some footage that wasn’t captured on someone’s phone. Finally, our trailer prayers have been answered.
Looking suitably dark (is it a DC movie after all), we get a look at all the members of the titular Squad, including Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Cara Delevingne, and Jai Courtney. Jared Leto also makes an appearance as a very freaky Joker. There’s something about that look that just creeps us right out. Probably the lack of eyebrows.

Despite a reluctance to release the trailer by Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution Sue Kroll, the studio has now decided to release the San Diego Comic-Con trailer for David Ayer’s DC supervillain ensemble Suicide Squad, and we have it for you here in all its HD glory…
Here’s a statement from Sue Kroll: “Warner Bros. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, »

As debates rage over people leaking footage from the supposed geek sanctity of Comic Con, the real story here is that David Ayer's upcoming Suicide Squad - a movie people were already calling a disaster - looks f-ing incredible. And look, I don't even care about comic book movies. But there's a certain chaotic glee in this trailer that is just amazing.
This is also our first look at Jared Leto's the parred down, urban Joker. And, based on what I'm seeing here, it works.
A secret government agency recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency.

While Warner Bros. released an official version of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, it looks like the Suicide Squad footage from San Diego Comic-Con is being kept under wraps for the time being. Or rather, it would have been, if a low quality version hadn’t leaked online, which you can watch here (best hurry, can’t imagine it will last long)…

Warner Bros. finished up its big DC panel at the San Diego Comic-Con a short while ago by releasing an epic Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer [which you can see here]. During the panel, footage was also shown from Suicide Squad [read a description here], and while it hasn’t been released, someone did manage to capture some audio featuring Jared Leto’s Joker. This probably won’t last long, so listen while you can…
Update: The entire Suicide Squad footage has leaked, and we have it here (although I don’t expect that to last long either).

And then he brought out the entire cast. Well, everyone minus Jared Leto.
“We are banging out something that is absolutely fantastic,” Will Smith promised, saying Ayer’s vision is “the real deal.”
The first trailer, which opens with Viola Davis (who plays Amanda Waller) talking about “the most dangerous people in the world,” included a first look at Smith’s Deadshot character as well as Leto’s The Joker: “I’m going to really, really hurt you,” he says at trailer’s end.
Ayer added: “We were shooting last night in Toronto but we had to come down b/c you guys run this s–t!” Ayer told the enthusiastic crowd.
