Hart of Dixie has lived to fight, joke and diagnose for another season.
Yes, the light-hearted CW drama has earned a renewal and will air on Tuesday nights this fall. What do hope to see in 2012-2013? What would we change? What should remain the same?
Follow along below as we grade Hart of Dixie Season One in our latest TV Fanatic Report Card.
-------------------------------------------
Best Character: Wade Kinsella. I adore the Hart of Dixie cast and was excited for this show from the outset, having been a huge fan of Scott Porter, Cress Williams and Rachel Bilson on previous programs. I still very much am, but Wilson Bethel delivered the most entertaining character on a weekly basis. I'll leave it up to female readers to debate his penchant for tank tops and simply focus here instead on Wade's one-liner delivery, ability to pour drinks and the depth he showed »

Look, I’m not gonna say that they’re should be a special Emmy category for Best One-Liner in an Episode of Spoiler Alert!, but there should be, and Parks and Recreations’ Retta should win it, no contest.
In this week’s edition, Matt Mitovich and my by-now-almost-regular cohort blurts out, and I paraphrase, “Don’t even [think about auditioning for that series] if you’re not willing to show the opening of your urethra.”
I’ll let you watch the clip below to find out to which of our obsessions she’s referring, as well as get our takes on the Smash bloodbath, the deadly »

Things are never easy in a love triangle, and they're epically harder when there's a hurricane-type storm involved, like in the Season 1 finale of "Hart of Dixie." The CW drama spent an entire season introducing us to the romantic dilemma of Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) as she tried to figure out her feelings for slacker bartender Wade (Wilson Bethel) or town hero lawyer George (Scott Porter). So, which one did she choose?
Well, it's kind of hard to keep waiting for someone like George when he's getting married to someone else -- and he spent the entire episode setting up for his big day with Lemon despite the disastrous storm passing through Bluebell. Besides, after the adventure to that bar in New Orleans, it seems like Zoe missed her chance and George wasn't in the right emotional state.
So it makes sense that she moved on to Wade, and »

There are more film festivals and music festivals out there than we care to count, but here at Zap2it, our hearts are in the TV business -- which is why we are so flippin' excited to attend the first annual Atx Festival, a television-a-palooza in Austin, Texas.
Featuring tons of our small screen faves, Atx Festival doesn't discriminate against underrated or canceled shows. "Life Unexpected" will have a major presence at the event, with creator Liz Tigelaar on hand to answer questions and stars Arielle Kebbel, Britt Roberston, and Shiri Appleby in the house to reminisce with us. "One Tree Hill" creator Mark Schwahn is attending, along with the ever-swoonworthy James Lafferty.
We're particularly psyched for a "Friday Night Lights" party with a screening attended by executive producers Jason Katims and David Hudgins, along with cast members like Scott Porter, Michael B. Jordan, Matt Lauria, Gaius Charles, Alicia Witt, »

In a word: No.
That was Wilson Bethel's simple, straightforward response when I asked him whether Wade was actually over Zoe, as events on last week's Hart of Dixie episode seemed to imply.
"Definitely not," the actor elaborated. "He's in limbo, having felt like his affections for her were either scorned or not reciprocated. He's trying to figure out where he stands."
And while Wade's ex-wife, Tanzie, does make an appearance on tonight's "The Race & the Relationship," Bethel says viewers will learn the "extent" of what his above quote means during the episode.
"We have an Amazing Race type situation in Bluebell," he previews. "Teams pair off to attack each other in a series of challenges and Wade and Zoe are reluctantly paired up… but it becomes more than just a benign race pairing. Emotions flare. Hormones rage."
And Wade sings? Not exactly. Bethel knows he can't compete with »

It's the moment at least half of the "Hart of Dixie" fans were waiting for -- while in New Orleans trying to process the fact that his fiance cheated on him, George (Scott Porter) finally gave in to his obvious attraction to Zoe (Rachel Bilson) and they kissed on the dance floor. Porter tells Zap2it that their moment was a long time coming.
"The one thing about Zoe that I always say for George is that she's a window into a different life for him," Porter explains. "He's made decisions that have brought him back to Bluebell because he felt in his soul that it's ultimately where he belongs. But every time he sits and talks with Zoe it's almost as if he gets teleported somewhere else and it's just him and her and he lets go. He can talk about all of these things that he keeps bottled »

It took George and Lemon to split up for me to finally understand their relationship.
Throughout the opening season of Hart of Dixie, I've questioned why someone so kind and understanding would be engaged to someone to stern and demanding. But George's pre-New Orleans speech to Zoe in "Destiny & Denial" actually made a lot of sense:
There's no way Lemon could date someone like herself. The guy would just fight back and the couple would spent every night apart, one attending the opera and the other a jazz club, for instance.
And can you actually imagine Geore Tucker dating someone like George Tucker? It would stand a better chance of success, but it would also lead to nauseating moments where each side coos and tells the other to hang up... no, you hang up... no, you hang up! There's a reason they say opposites attract.
But when it comes out »

Poor George Tucker. He just learned his fiancée cheated on him with a friend. He’s not sure who to trust. And he’s generally on a downward spiral. So where can a good man blow off steam? New Orleans, of course!
Tonight’s episode of Hart of Dixie follows sweet old George (Scott Porter) to the Big Easy, where he flees to escape his shambles of a life. The result, says Porter, is a George unlike fans have ever seen.
” we’ve seen a very level-headed man — someone who is very intent on fixing things and making everyone’s »

If you watch The CW's "Hart of Dixie" (Mondays at 9 p.m. Et), then you know that George Tucker, played by "Friday Night Lights" alum Scott Porter, is the perfect man and the nicest guy in Dixie. No wonder Zoe (Rachel Bilson) fell for him.
But on Monday night's all-new episode, "Destiny & Denial," that's all about to change after the you-know-what hit the fan when George found out about Lemon's (Jaime King) affair with Levon (Cress Williams) in last week's episode. Now, good ole' reliable George is going through somewhat of an identity crisis, and be prepared to see him trade in his sweater vests for a leather jacket and motorcycle.
However, for fans of George and Zoe, don't worry too much about last week's blow-up. He won't stay mad the Bluebell doctor for long. In fact, the two even take a spontaneous trip to the Big Easy, which then »

Given the bombshell that ended last week’s Hart of Dixie (Lemon finally revealing her affair with Lavon to her current fiancé George), you’d think tonight’s episode of the CW charmer (airing at 9/8c) would find the newly single do-gooder moping about Bluebell in woe-is-me fashion. Thankfully, though, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Rather, “Destiny & Denial” features George — and, in turn, his portrayer Scott Porter — in a totally new light:
One who sings and dances and might actually put the moves on one Zoe Hart.

After your fiance cheats on you and you call off your wedding, it's only natural to be a little lost. That's exactly what's happening to George Tucker on "Hart of Dixie," Scott Porter tells Zap2it. While Porter's character is usually an upstanding guy who does the right thing, this complete upheaval in his personal life leads the lawyer to question all of his actions.
"You'll see a different George in the last four episodes [of Season 1]," Porter explains. "You're going to see a George who's adrift as far as his emotions go and as far as where he thinks his future is going to lie. A lot of thoughts are going to go through his head. You know -- maybe I can look past this. Maybe I can work this out. Maybe I have to leave town. Maybe I have to get out of here, I can't stay. It's all those »
