Late last month, Marvel announced that Aubrey Joseph (The Night Of, Run All Night) and Olivia Holt (Kickin’ It, Didn’t Do It) have secured the roles of Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen in the Cloak & Dagger TV series, and now comes word that six more actors have joined the cast.
The official site reports that Andrea Roth (Rescue Me, Blue Bloods), Gloria Reuben (ER, Mr. Robot), Miles Mussenden (Bloodline, Queen Sugar), Carl Lundstedt (Grey’s Anatomy, Conviction), James Saito (Life of Pi, The Devil’s Advocate) and J.D. Evermore (True Detective, The Walking Dead) have all be cast in the Hulu series.

Marvel has wasted no time in filling out its cast for the upcoming Cloak and Dagger series. Barely two weeks have passed since we caught wind of Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph securing the coveted title roles, but today brings confirmation that the studio has now filled out the rest of the roster with six new series regulars.
Ordered straight to series last April, Marvel and Freeform’s live-action adaptation chronicles the interracial and suitably superheroic romance between Cloak and Dagger (Aka Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen), who will be played by Joseph and Holt, respectively.
In terms of those new recruits, Andrea Roth (Rescue Me) will play the part of Melissa Bowen. Mother to Tandy, Roth’s character is considered the eternal optimist, despite the struggles to adapt to her new existence. On the other side of the coin, Gloria Reuben (Mr. Robot) is Adina Johnson, Tyrone’s mom. »

Marvel has yet another TV show in development, and they today announced who will be playing the titular characters! We are of course talking about Cloak & Dagger, a series which is described as a coming-of-age series revolving around Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson.
Despite coming from starkly different backgrounds, each of the heroes grew up with a secret they never dared share with another soul. Once a privileged little girl, Tandy Bowen watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life. Now in her late teens, an unexpected encounter with a boy named Tyrone sparks a life changing event.
Young Tyrone Johnson wanted nothing more than to prove he was fearless. But when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone to be afraid. Now older and more sheltered, Tyrone closes himself off. But when he meets a girl named Tandy his life changes forever. »

About time we saw some traction on this. We got some new heroes on the block guys and now we know who will be playing the two lead roles.
I reported way back in April that Cloak and Dagger had been greenlit. Look its right here. Well finally we know who our two stars will be. Olivia Holt (Kickin It, The Standoff) will be Tandy Bowen a.k.a. Dagger and Aubrey Joseph (Run All Night, Death Pact) will play Tyrone Johnson a.k.a. Cloak. Executive Producer Joe Pokaski says,
"The characters of Tandy and Tyrone have always stood out to me ever since I first met them in the pages of Marvel comics when I was a boy. When Olivia and Aubrey read for the roles, these characters leapt off the page. We’re so excited to see what these talented young actors bring to the Marvel Universe. »

Freeform has found the two leads for its upcoming superhero series “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger.”
Adapted from the early ’80s Marvel comic book series of the same name, “Cloak & Dagger” is a live-action drama akin to sister network ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” yet still staying true to Freeform’s traditional coming-of-age narratives.
Holt will play Dagger, aka Tandy Bowen, a privileged teen who’s life is changed after her family is destroyed by a disastrous storm. She has the power to emit beams of light (daggers).
Joseph portrays Cloak, aka Tyrone Johnson, who also suffers a personal loss. His ability is the opposite of Dagger’s; he can engulf others in (a cloak) of darkness.

A few days ago it was rumoured that Noah Gray-Cabey (Heroes) and Debby Ryan (Jessie) had been cast as the two leads in Cloak and Dagger TV series, but it seems that report was wide of the mark, as we now have official casting new direct from Marvel.
“The characters of Tandy and Tyrone have always stood out to me ever since I first met them in the pages of Marvel comics when I was a boy,” said showrunner and Executive Producer Joe Pokaski. “When Olivia and Aubrey read for the roles, these characters leapt off the page. We’re so excited to see what these talented young actors bring to the Marvel Universe.”

As the onscreen Marvel Universe grows more diverse by the day, it looks as though a particular fan favourite is moving closer to the camera over at the teen-targeted Freeform network. Indeed, Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger announced its lead actors via Deadline on Monday.
Performers Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph have been cast in the respective roles of Dagger/Tandy Bowen and Cloak/Tyrone Johnson. The news comes after five years of development for Cloak & Dagger as a television property at Freeform, dating back to when it the network was still called ABC Family.
Call off the search party, for Marvel and Freeform’s Cloak and Dagger TV series has found its two leading stars.
Deadline has the scoop, confirming that while Noah Gray-Cabey and Debby Ryan were reportedly in the running early on, the superhero roles of Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson have fallen to Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph. Ordered straight to series back in 2016, Cloak and Dagger chronicles the coming-of-age romance between Tandy (Dagger) and Bowen (Cloak), who struggle to wrangle their superhuman abilities under control. Olivia Holt’s Tandy has the power to emit light daggers on a whim, while Tyrone is able to engulf others in darkness at a moment’s notice. Together, they’re able to keep a lid on their respective powers, but a superheroic romance threatens to complicate an already complicated situation.
It’ll skew toward a younger audience, given its teenage leads, and it’ll »

An adaptation of the Marvel comics characters first introduced in a 1982 Spectacular Spider-Man series and then in success spun off into their own adventures, the live-action project follows Tyrone “Ty” Johnson and Tandy Bowen, a pair of powered young people who as Cloak and Dagger absorb baddies into “darkness” and shoot light daggers, respectively. Our sister site Deadline first reported the castings.

Last week we heard that Debby Ryan and Noah Gray-Cabey were in line to play the teenage heroes of Marvel and Freeform's Cloak and Dagger, but Deadline has just debunked that by revealing the names of the actors who will actually bring life to the young warriors of light and darkness. According to the trade, The Night of's Aubrey Joseph will be playing Tyrone Johnson/Cloak, while former Disney Channel star Olivia Holt will portray Tandy Bowen/Dagger. “The characters of Tandy and Tyrone have always stood out to me ever since I first met them in the pages of Marvel comics when I was a boy," said executive producer/showrunner Joe Pokaski. Another day, another Marvel Studios project moves forward.
Since then, there hasn't been too much to report. Until the last 36 hours...
According to the McU Exchange, they've got it on good authority from a source of theirs that Marvel has found the two lead actors for the project. According to them, relative unknowns Noah Gray-Cabey and Debby Ryan have been tapped to play Tyrone "Ty" Johnson and Tandy Bowen in Cloak and Dagger, which is set to run on ABC's Freeform network.
Sometimes we look to social media activity to see if there's anything that lends credibility to a rumor like this, and what's notable here is that Gray-Cabey did recently start getting followed on Twitter by Cloak and Dagger's showrunner, »

Last night we reported that Marvel’s upcoming Cloak and Dagger TV show, which will air on Freeform, had found a director for its pilot episode in the form of Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love and Basketball, Beyond the Lights). Now, a new rumor suggests that the two leads have also been cast. According to the McU Exchange, Noah Gray-Cabey will play Tyrone Johnson (Cloak), while Debby Ryan has signed on to bring Tandy Bowen (Dagger) to life on the small screen.
While neither of these actors are what you’d call household names, they’ve both starred in some fairly popular TV shows in the past. Gray-Cabey is probably best know for playing Micah in the original Heroes when he was a kid (he also reprised the role for Heroes Reborn), but he’s since appeared in the likes of CSI and Code Black. Ryan, meanwhile, played Aubrey on Girl Meets World, »
