Semi-Safe Trailer for the Horror Anthology Sequel V/H/S/2

2 hours ago | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

In case you couldn’t handle the Red Band trailer for the horror anthology sequel “V/H/S/2″ that Magnet Releasing released not too long ago, here’s the Sfw version of the trailer. I never saw the first movie, but apparently the sequel follows the same formula, with a bunch of horror shorts bookmarked by a “story” involving VHS cassette tapes. Who even has VHS players anymore? I don’t think stores even sell these things, right? Try it. Go to your nearest store and see if they still sell Vcr players. Until then, check out the Sfw trailer for “V/H/S/2″. It’s VHS-rific. Searching for a missing student, two private investigators break into his abandoned house and find another collection of mysterious VHS tapes. In viewing the horrific contents of each cassette, they realize there may be terrifying motives behind the student’s disappearance. Featuring horror shorts by Simon Barrett, »

Clues from Gareth Evans' Godzilla have started to come in. The set photos we've seen thus far has shown destruction caused by Godzilla, soldiers carrying a warhead, some men/women in hazmat suits, and now we are getting a location of where the beast is headed. Legendary tweeted a photo of a binder from the Us Department of Defense. On it you will see that it contains documents on an urban evacuation. Next to it is a folded up map with an island in view. V/H/S/2 - Theatrical Trailer for the Awesome Horror Anthology

21 May 2013 6:00 PM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Magnet has released a great theatrical trailer for their epic horror anthology V/H/S/2. It's not as bloody as the red-band trailer, but it offers up some fun new footage. This movie was entertaining as hell, and if you enjoy watching horror movies then this film is not to be missed. All the segments in the film are horrifically fantastic! You can read my review for it here.

Synopsis:

Inside a darkened house looms a column of TVs littered with VHS tapes, a pagan shrine to forgotten analog gods. The screens crackle and pop endlessly with monochrome vistas of static—white noise permeating the brain and fogging concentration. But you must fight the urge to relax: this is no mere movie night. Those obsolete spools contain more than just magnetic tape. They are imprinted with the very soul of evil.

21 May 2013 3:40 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

An assortment of news rolling in from Cannes like the waves on the beach (see what we did there?) Anyway, "The Raid" helmer Gareth Evans is currently in production on his most-likely bone-crunching follow-up "Berandal," and while he's got some Hollywood projects in development, he isn't going to be abandoning Indonesian martial-arts pictures altogether; Screen Daily report that the Welsh ex-pat will serve as action director on "The Night Comes For Us," a vehicle for "The Raid" vet, and "Fast & Furious 6" stand out Joe Taslim. The film will see Taslim as a Triad enforcer who accidentally causes a massacre, and will be properly directed by Timo Tjahjanto.  Screen also report that James Marsh, the man behind the sublime "Man On Wire," the excellent "Red Riding" and the 'yeah, it's ok I guess' "Shadow Dancer," is lining up another project. The filmmaker's reuniting with the producers of the latter for "The »

V/H/S/2 Review

17 May 2013 8:33 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Viva la película de terror antología!

Is that right? After five years of Spanish throughout high school, I still just went to Google Translate for that shit. But anyway, for those who don’t understand my (probably gibberish) Spanish, it (most likely doesn’t) means “Long live the horror anthology!” Why am I so excited? Well, partially because I didn’t think this craze would actually stay strong in today’s horror world, and partially because V/H/S/2 proves the concept is only producing better and better content. V/H/S and The ABCs Of Death tested the waters, wetted viewers whistles, but V/H/S/2 took the concept to extremely more brutal places knowing the market for over-the-top horror is salivating over original content these days – something I pray the newly announced sequel to The ABCs Of Death tackles even more ferociously.

I was elated to see that »

Red band trailer for V/H/S/2

17 May 2013 2:40 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Found footage has become something of a staple within the horror genre over the past few years, and now audiences are crying out for something more than just one long film using this style. They want anthologies as well, the piecing together of lots of different styles and subject matter all presented in a single film. This was especially the case with 2012's V/H/S, which used the story of a group of criminals having to steal a tape from a house, but unsure as to which one they were meant to acquire, they had to watch a series of shorts, each directed by a different horror director.

Whilst personally I was not a fan of the first instalment, someone has felt that the world needs a sequel, and below is the trailer for this offering, V/H/S/2, which features the directing talents of Simon Barrett (A Horrible Way to Die »

Watch the Strange and Gory Red-Band Trailer for ‘V/H/S/2′

16 May 2013 10:10 AM, PDT | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

Magnet has revealed, via Yahoo! Movies, the Red Band trailer for the upcoming V/H/S/2. Like the first instalment, V/H/S 2 is a collection of found footage short films, all from different directors. The horror anthology — which features sections overseen by Hobo with a Shotgun filmmaker Jason Eisener, You’re Next director Adam Wingard, and Gareth Evans (of The Raid), will be available on demand on June 6 and arrives in cinemas July 12. Like most anthology films, some segments are uneven, but as Mark pointed out in his review, the film does its best work in the middle, when it displays some fine efforts from some real talent. You can check out the trailer below.

Watch: Splattery Red-Band Trailer For Horror Anthology Sequel 'V/H/S 2'

16 May 2013 7:59 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

When “V/H/S” came out last year, reaction was… mixed, to put it lightly. Like most anthology films, it was wildly uneven. But it seems the concept is just too irresistible for other filmmakers to resist and thus, we have “V/H/S 2.” Originally titled “S-v/H/S”, the sequel premiered at Sundance this past January to a much more positive reception than the first (read our review).  Now a red band trailer has just been posted online over at Yahoo and there’s only one way to describe it: utter mayhem. Like the first one, “V/H/S 2” is a collection of found footage short films all from different directors. Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett are the only holdovers from “V/H/S,” with the rest including Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale (the former of whom birthed the found footage horror genre with “The Blair Witch Project”), Gareth Evans (“The Raid”), Timo Tjahjanto, »
