Dancing With the Stars Week 3 Recap: Did the Right Couple Go Home?

27 September 2016 7:03 PM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

If you missed even a moment of Monday’s Dancing With the Stars, I have excellent news: ABC essentially replayed the entire thing on Tuesday night — and then added another full hour of footage.

It’s one thing for the competition series to stretch its performance shows to 120 minutes, when those are filled with actual content. But a two-hour results show, filled with video recaps and inane mini-concerts and endless footage of Bruno Tonioli shouting from behind the judges’ table — that’s just wrong.

To accommodate Monday’s presidential debate, the performance show was cut down to one busy hour, »

Dancing with the Stars: Season 23's First Eliminated Contestant Is...

20 September 2016 7:15 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Season 23 of Dancing with the Stars has its first casualty.  Say goodbye to Jake T. Austin and Jenna Johnson! Jake and Jenna were eliminated tonight after finding themselves in the bottom four couples with Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev, Amber Rose and Maks Chmerkovskiy, and Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke.  While it's a little sad to see the Wizards of Waverly Place star go home so early, it's not all that surprising. He tied for the second lowest score both this week and last week, only above Rick Perry, and seemed to struggle a bit with both of his routines. Somebody's got to be the first one to go, and unfortunately it was Jake this week.  Now, »

Someone get Merriam-Webster on the phone, because Dancing With the Stars redefined the word “filler” on Tuesday night.

Rather than use the special-night broadcast to showcase more new dance routines, the ABC series instead stretched its first elimination of the season across two unnecessary hours. (Not even American Idol was this self-indulgent! Er, at least not most of the time.)

In the taped package, Lochte said his favorite Muppet was "the green one." Cheryl Burke is here to clear that up. "You see, this is his humor. He's very dry and sarcastic. It is what it is," Burke told E! News' Sibley Scoles. Phew. It was a different tone for the Olympian and his pro partner after last week's Dancing With the Stars season 23 premiere was crashed by anti-Lochte protesters.
