For a lot of MCU fans, and Black Widow fans in particular, one of the most baffling choices the movies have made so far came in "Avengers: Endgame," when Black Widow/Natasha (Scarlett Johannsen) and Hawkeye/Clint (Jeremy Renner) tried to throw themselves off a cliff before the other could do it first. The cliff-jumping part made sense — one of them needed to die to save the world, and it was in character for both of them to sacrifice themself so the other could live. The questionable part was when Natasha successfully stopped Clint and flung herself to her death. It was a sad yet heroic end for her character, sure, but on a meta-level, wouldn't it make more sense for the movie to kill Clint?
No disrespect to Clint of course, but he was the less interesting of the two Avengers. He served his role well and had a heartwarming friendship with Natasha,...

Ariana Grande is back on top of the Billboard 200 albums chart for the first time in more than three years as Eternal Sunshine debuts at Number One with 227,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S., the publication announced on Sunday.
Eternal Sunshine marks Grande’s fourth consecutive Number One album. Of her seven albums she’s released since her debut in 2013, all but Dangerous Woman have topped the album chart. Grande dethroned fellow Republic star Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time, which fell to Number Two. Meanwhile,...

Ariana Grande has a whole new era—or should we say, it has her? Her excellent new Eternal Sunshine is a bold personal statement, with her most inventive, pained, reflective songs. “It’s kind of a concept album,” the pop queen said in February. “‘Cause it’s all different heightened pieces of the same story, of the same experience.” So no wonder she’s taking inspiration from the crazy boys who invented the concept album: The Beatles. In a NYC playback session for Eternal Sunshine, the pop queen revealed that...

The vast lore of Elden Ring still has fans debating theories even two years after the game’s release. One plot point in particular surrounding the game’s early events revolves around the tragic notion that Godwyn the Golden, Queen Marika’s son, met his end, prompting her to shatter the Elden Ring out of profound disappointment with the Greater Will.
However, delving deeper into this complex piece of lore reveals that there might be more to the story than what meets the eye, with a new theory that suggests Marika could have willingly played a hand in Godwyn’s death.
Contextualizing Marika’s Motives
Marika had high expectations from her children, and Godwyn may not have lived up to them
To comprehend Marika’s motivations and attitudes towards her offspring, it is crucial to analyze her own words regarding her demigod children. Melina says, “In Marika’s own words.

In a review, Rolling Stone warned moviegoers that the 2021 Marvel movie Eternals “will bore you to death.” Moviegoers were somewhat kinder, giving the picture a solid C+, or 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and they spent close to $165 million domestically to see it, according to The Numbers. But the stigma of being associated with one of the meh-est Marvel movies weighed heavily on one of its stars, Kumail Nanjiani, who entered therapy when critics turned on it.

The Sundance Film Festival 2024 brought two fascinating projects surrounding the concept of artificial intelligence.
The first is an ambitious love story set at the end of the world involving two unlikely machines.
The second is a documentary called Eternal You, which examines the merits of bringing dead people back to life using AI.
Both films are captivating for different reasons, and each has something compelling to say about “artificiality.”
Not to mention, one of these might end up being our favorite from Sundance 2024.
Here are our reviews of Love Me and Eternal You from the Sundance Film Festival.
Love Me
Love Me is a film critic’s catnip. There are robots, humor, romance, a dystopia, and a narrative with layers of themes and ideas to decipher.
The film, directed by Sam & Andy Zuchero, is an audacious feature film debut, taking a simplistic concept and making it feel as vast as the movie’s billion-year timeline.

Upon its release, ‘Eternals’ marked the change of direction in the MCU, and despite the movie receiving mixed reviews and bombing at the box office, it was often described as ambitious and sometimes incoherent due to many elements introduced, which were subsequently never used again.
Some viewers considered the movie a breath of fresh air and appreciated the themes that mixed cosmic themes with mythologies, but some felt that the movie didn’t quite hit the mark. Still, it seems that ‘Eternals’ was ambitious enough to warrant itself a sequel. Nothing has been confirmed so far, but a source of reliable scoops and leaks, Daniel Richtman, claimed that the sequel to the movie is in early development.

"The biggest thing for me about doing this show was when I found out the lineup and Eternal was in it! I literally cannot describe how excited I was about that. When I was a little girl they were probably the first girl band I ever got into and just absolutely adored. I knew all their songs, I have their videos and I was such an Eternal fan. I remember being at school for my birthday and a friend of mine bought me a video of Eternal - all their songs. I was so excited!

Eternal open up about their deep rift following Louise Redknapp's exit from the band in The Big Reunion.
Speaking in a clip from this week's episode of the ITV2 show, Kéllé Bryan reveals that she considered leaving the girl group to form a duo with Redknapp but ultimately decided to stay.
However, Vernie Bennett admits that Bryan announced that "she would only stay for the money", while her sister Easther Bennett suggests that the band became a "business thing" for Bryan.
The trio also speak about the "drama" and lack of communication, with Bryan saying that it "festered into something very ugly" and admitting: "I don't think their behaviour was kind all the time. That was challenging, because I was on my own - I felt like they had each other."
However, Vernie suggested that Bryan isolated herself, saying: "Album two you're saying you're just in it for the money,...

It's a risky business, filmmaking. Simon looks back at some bold, expensive 1990s movies where the gambles didn't quite pay off...
This summer's blockbuster season has got off to a startling start, with Iron Man 3 being widely praised for its willingness to rip up the rule book a little, as it continues the story of Tony Stark.
In fact, there's a subset of modern blockbusters - Nolan films, some X-Men features for instance - that are garnering increasing praise for taking bold choices with the material. That they're wagering a lot of movie studio money on projects and stories that once upon a time would have struggled to get through the system.
However, we'd argue that the 1990s was rich with such gambles too, it's just most of them never really made quite the levels of cash we're seeing now. So, here's a...

No knighthoods for tabloid-backed stars, but Sheila Hancock, David Suchet and composer Howard Goodall make the list
Despite the best efforts of the tabloid press, there were no knighthoods for either Bruce Forsyth or Simon Cowell, but veteran actors Sheila Hancock and David Suchet were both awarded CBEs, as was the composer and broadcaster Howard Goodall. Representatives of the arts and media make up 7% of the honours list.
