- The Elegants began life in Staten Island, NY, in the mid-1950s. In 1958 the group--consisting of lead singer Vito Picone, Carmen Romano, James Moschella, Frank Tardogno and Arthur Venosa--scored a #1 hit with the doo-wop classic "Little Star", which had a catchy beat, smooth harmonies and was based on a melody by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". For some reason they didn't record again for another year, but it was too late and none of their releases even got on the charts. They soon broke up.- IMDb Mini Biography By: frankfob2@yahoo.com
