Watch Harry Potter Cast Get Sorted Into Hogwarts Houses

11 June 2016 1:45 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The wizarding world is on fire, and Harry Potter is more popular than ever some five years after the final movie hit theaters. The new stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child just opened for previews in the West End, and later this year we'll see the first-ever spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. While there is no new Harry Potter book heading our way soon, the script for Cursed Child is being released to the public, and author J.K. Rowling is keeping her universe alive thanks to the ever popular Pottermore website. Now, we have a fun treat which shows some of the actors from the movies getting sorted into various Hogwarts houses.

With so much new stuff coming forward, continually breathing life into this magical realm, it's no wonder that interest is at an all-time high. With that in mind, some of the most beloved names associated with the franchise have come forward to have a little bit of fun. This includes Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley),&#160Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom),&#160Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley),&#160and&#160Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood). They all reunited to find out if they would wind up in the same Hogwarts house as their characters.

In the movies, Ron, Ginny and Neville had all been sorted into Gryffindor house. Luna, the outsider of the group, wound up in Ravenclaw. The real-life foursome used the virtual sorting hat found on the immersive Pottermore site to find out where they would be sorted if thrust into the Harry Potter universe. And some of the results are quite surprising.

Rupert Grint got sorted into Hufflepuff. While he's okay with this choice, it definitely wasn't what he, or probably the fans, was expecting. Bonnie Wright landed right back at Gryffindor, and seems pretty happy about it. Like Grint, Matthew Lewis was sorted into Hufflepuff. He claims he's thrilled, but he doesn't really look it. Evanna Lynch seems most excited out of the entire group, as she finally gets sorted into Gryffindor, leaving Ravenclaw behind.

Following the group video, there are individual video interviews that show more of these actors answering the questions that landed them in their respected houses. They also answer a few questions about the wizarding world of Harry Potter. It certainly is fun to catch up with these very familiar faces to see how they are doing. And it comes at a time when everyone is talking about that dang Cursed Child! You can check out all of the videos here, and then be sure to check out Pottermore and let us know what house you got sorted into. »

A Youtube video shows the four answering the magical being's questions, which consist of queries such as »

How Simon Fitzmaurice battled Mnd to make 'My Name Is Emily'

25 February 2016 1:54 AM, PST | ScreenDaily | See recent ScreenDaily news »

A diagnosis of motor neurone disease did not thwart Simon Fitzmaurice’s ambitions to make his first feature, which has gone on to score awards and distribution deals.

“When all this happened, it was my writing that saved me,” explains director Simon Fitzmaurice.

“When my life fell apart, my writing was there for me. I became a writer through my darkest days. And, like writing, the passion of film has never left me.”

A diagnosis of motor neurone disease (Mnd) did not thwart Fitzmaurice’s ambitions to make his first feature. If anything, being told he had the progressive condition that attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord made him even more determined to get behind the camera.

That he has realised this ambition is an extraordinary feat in itself. The Irish filmmaker is the only known person in the world with Mnd to have written and directed a feature solo.

Rupert Grint Thinks Ron Would've Divorced Hermione by Now

8 February 2016 8:57 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

You never could trust that Ron Weasley to stick around. Harry Potter's best friend was known to get jealous and even walk out when the going got tough ... but then he did always come back in the end. J.K. Rowling's novels closed with Ron and Hermione Granger married with two kids, but actor Rupert Grint doesn't think they would still be together today.

While at Universal Orlando for the recent Harry Potter celebration, Grint and fellow castmates talked to Huffington Post about the future of their characters.

Here's the Ron section:

Huffington Post: If J.K. asked you where you'd like your character to be off to, what would you say? Swing for the fences, or go as crazy as you'd like with what you'd be doing in that universe.

Grint: [laughs] I would expect Ron has probably divorced Hermione already. I don't think that relationship would have done very well. »

This Harry Potter Actor Explains Why It's the Perfect Story For Diversity

3 February 2016 7:45 AM, PST | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Image Source: Getty With this year's controversial all-white pool of Oscar acting award nominees, diversity in film is a top-of-mind issue we need to talk about - and Katie Leung, who plays Cho Chang in the Harry Potter series, is doing just that. At Universal Studios' recent "A Celebration of Harry Potter" event in Orlando, I spoke with the Scottish-Chinese actress about her thoughts on Harry Potter and diversity on the heels of the recent casting of a black actress as Hermione in the upcoming stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Leung told me she thinks the way J.K. Rowling wrote the series without being race specific was "really clever," adding that this provided more opportunities for actors of an ethnic minority to be involved. "Even though my character is Chinese, we don't dwell on the fact that she is Chinese," Leung said. "She's just a student at Hogwarts, »
