GLAAD’s “Where We Are on TV” report this year forecasts an all-time high in the number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender and queer (Lgbtq) characters on TV, though the broadcast networks’ treatment of queer females has been “especially disappointing” and “sends a dangerous message.”

Broadcast TV’s representation of Lgbtq characters this year stands at 4.8 percent (or 43 out of 895 series regular roles), up 0.8 from 2015 to mark the measure’s highest percentage ever. (Broadcast TV also will have 28 recurring Lgbtq characters.) ABC ranks highest with 7.3 percent, followed by Fox (6.4), The CW (4.3), NBC (3.9) and CBS (2.2).

Cable TV went from 84 to 92 series regular Lgbtq characters, »

The 100 Season 4: The End of the World & Who Is Returning?

22 July 2016 2:26 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The 100 cast and crew took to the San Diego Comic Con to lift the lid on The 100 Season 4.

While there, they had a chat about earth, including those scenes at the end of The 100 Season 3, when a cloud of smoke and lightning were approaching Polis.

Jason Rothenberg teased that the smoke and stuff “probably wouldn’t be until the end of the season. … The earth strikes back in Season 4. … It’s an unbeatable foe."

"It becomes not how to stop it; it becomes, ‘How do we survive?’ There aren’t enough life boats. … It’s a return in a lot of ways, thematically, to what we did in Season 1. … The earth is the Ark.”

It all sounds pretty ominous.

If you recall, the earth is about to come to an end. Taking down Alie meant that the end of civilization was fast approaching and our band of »

‘The 100’ Season 4 Preview: ‘The Earth Strikes Back’ as Nuclear Apocalypse Looms

The cast and executive producer of “The 100” were on hand at Comic-Con to preview Season 4 of the hit CW drama, beginning with a sizzle reel that included a work-in-progress shot from next season that showed the Grounder city of Polis being overtaken by a dark cloud of radioactive fallout as Eliza Taylor’s Clarke narrated via voiceover: “Our enemy isn’t something that can be fought, it can’t be reasoned with, it can’t be killed. When all is lost, can hope survive? can we survive? After everything we’ve done, do we deserve to?”

Creator Jason Rothenberg said that if and when we see that shot in its finished form, it’ll be later in the season, but the producers wanted to offer fans a tease for the season, given that they haven’t started filming yet.

‘The 100’ Boss Talks Latest Casualty, That Flashback Twist

3 March 2016 7:00 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Spoilers follow: Do not read on unless you’ve seen “The 100” Season 3, Episode 7, titled “Thirteen.”

Nothing gold can stay in the world of “The 100,” and the show never hesitates to remind us of the dangers of post-apocalyptic Earth by killing characters with gleeful abandon. This week’s casualty was Grounder Commander Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey), who inadvertently ended up dead at the hands of her second-in-command Titus (Neil Sandilands), after he attempted to kill her lover, Clarke (Eliza Taylor).

The hour also revealed that the Artificial Intelligence program known as Alie was not only responsible for the nuclear apocalypse that destroyed the world and necessitated the Ark’s sojourn in space, but that the second iteration of the program formed the foundation of the Grounders’ religion, with Alie creator Becca (Erica Cerra) becoming the first Commander to the nuclear survivors left on Earth. The AI has subsequently been passed »

‘The 100’ Showrunner Talks Bellamy’s Shocking Choice, Pike’s New Role

11 February 2016 7:00 PM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Do not read on unless you’ve seen “Watch the Thrones,” the fourth episode of season three of “The 100.”

There has been much to like about the third season of “The 100.” As I watched the first four episodes, comparisons to “The Lord of the Rings” saga kept coming to mind. Visually, thematically and on a story level, this is the season in which “The 100” is expanding its universe, depicting a ragged but vibrant city and a whole host of fierce rivalries, showing formidable armies on the march, and depicting brief but nuanced moments of tenderness and connection between conflicted characters under a great deal of pressure.

I’ve seen some mixed opinions on the Murphy-Jaha storyline, but I’ve always enjoyed that odd-couple pairing and I’m willing to see where it goes. As a notable Season 1 Murphy doubter, I continue to be pleasantly surprised by how »
