The very first photo from the Victoria, Australia set of Stuart Beattie's "I, Frankenstein" is now online, courtesy of photographer Pablo Hassan, who captured Aaron Eckhart in full makeup as the creature, Adam. Also starring Socratis Otto, Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda Otto, the film tells the modern-day tale of Dr. Frankenstein's creature, who nearly centuries after his "birth", has found himself in a gothic city, caught up in a war between two immortal clans. Though based on the comic by Kevin Grevioux, leading man Aaron Eckhart recently explained to ComingSoon.net that Mary Shelley's original novel is where he's focusing his attention to build the character. "I, Frankenstein" hits theaters on February 22, 2013. »

Check out your first look at Aaron Eckhart in full costume on the set of “I, Frankenstein”, an adaptation of the comic book by “Underworld” guy Kevin Grevioux. Stuart Beattie (“Tomorrow, When The War Began”) is directing with the film set for 2013. No real spoilers, so feel free to indulge, indulgers. The film, one of many Frankenstein movies in the works as we speak, looks like it’s well ahead of all the other studio versions, and should get into theaters first. The plot of “I, Frankenstein” finds Victor Frankenstein’s monster the only thing that stands between our doom at the hands of supernatural forces. It co-stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Jai Courtney, Miranda Otto, Caitlin Stasey, Deniz Akdeniz, Socratis Otto, Chris Pang, and Virginie Le Brun. Back in January, we brought you a little tease from Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) on her role and romance in Stuart Beattie’s I, Frankenstein. This modernization of Mary Shelley’s tale of Frankenstein and his monster from Lakeshore Entertainment/ Hopscotch Features/ Lionsgate is adapted from Underworld creator Kevin Grevioux’s graphic novel.
Filming has already begun in Australia since the beginning of the year but we finally get our first look at star Aaron Eckhart as Adam, Frankenstein’s monster. Check it out below. Adam still looks like a scary son-of-a-b but doesn’t he have great hair? Adam has a bit of hobo-bad boy appeal, doesn’t he?

Lakeshore Entertainment's I, Frankenstein adaptation went into production in Melbourne, Australia, at the end of February and we finally have our first look at Aaron Eckhart as Frankenstein's monster, Adam. Photographer Everhardt Strauss posted several photos from the set on his Flickr account.
Based on the Darkstorm Comics series created by Kevin Grevioux (Underworld), I, Frankenstein is being directed by Stuart Beattie (30 Days of Night), who also wrote the screenplay. The movie is set in an ancient city populated by all manner of monsters, where Adam finds himself caught up in a war between immortal enemies.
The full cast list has yet to be released, but it is known that Bill Nighy (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) plays one of the major villains, a character he described to BBC Radio 2 as a "nasty piece of work," an angel who "descended with Satan." Yvonne Strahovski (TV's Chuck, Killer Elite) plays the female lead, »

Here's our first look at Aaron Eckhart on the set of the Stuart Beattie (Screenwriter of Pirates of the Caribbean films, 30 Days of Night, Collateral and more) directed film I, Frankenstein. The film is based on a comic book created by Kevin Grevioux, but Eckhart is channeling into Mary Shelley's original novel as inspiration for the character. I love the look of his character, you can hardly tell that it's Eckhart. The movie looks and sounds like it's going to be an entertaining monster flick. It also stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski and Mirando Otto.
The story is a gothic, modern-day fantasy thriller that tells the story of the original monster of Victor Frankenstein, who stands between the human race and an uprising of supernatural creatures determined to overthrow the world. The film will involve several monsters of classic lore, such as like vampires, werewolves, mummies, goblins, ghosts, things of that nature. »

Late last year we reported that I, Frankenstein was moving forward with Stuart Beattie directing and Aaron Eckhart playing Adam Frankenstein in a modern day spin on the classic story. Filming is currently taking place and we have your first look at Aaron Eckhart.
“I, Frankenstein is a modern-day epic: Frankenstein’s creature, Adam, has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.”
I, Frankenstein is based on a graphic novel from Kevin Grevioux (Underworld) and also stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, and Socratis Otto. The movie is scheduled for release on February 22nd, 2013.

The first set photo of Aaron Eckhart in I, Frankentein has leaked online. The adaptation of the graphic novel has Eckhart playing "Adam Frankenstein", the classic monster of Mary Shelley's novel who now has a first name, lives in the present day, and is being hunted by demons that want to learn the secret of his creation in order to build an army of reanimated corpses. As you can see from the set photo, Adam has decided to go hobo-sheik and handsome-deformed. Sure, he's got a bit of a stitch-face, but that's no obstacle for the good looks of Aaron Eckhart. Hit the jump to check out the set photo. The film also stars Bill Nighy as the villain, Socratis Otto (Gone) as his right-hand man, Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) as "a devoted scientist tricked into working for demons," and Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings) as "the queen »

Check out this shot of Aaron Eckhart in I, Frankenstein by photographer Everhardt Strauss and what an intriguing insight into this new project. Not a stranger to facial disfigurement in film, Eckhart is covered in scars that also vaguely resemble Marv from the fantastic Sin City. However, this is a very different story.
Eckhart will play a creature named Adam who gets involved in a war between two immortal sides in this modern-day adaptation of the classic Frankenstein story. The actor is hoping to bring the legend back to life, but with its original intentions, he told Collider:
“Frankenstein is an intelligent, evolved man, and that’s how he is portrayed in this movie, for sure. In the book, he’s very evolved. Somewhere in time, Frankenstein got dumbed down. He is a beast, but somewhere he lost his heart. It’s more of an action movie really. But, it will be cool. »
