Afm: Quiver Digital Expands Into Movie Acquisition, Distribution (Exclusive)
Self-distribution aggregator Quiver Digital has announced the launch of a boutique motion picture acquisition and distribution service.

Quiver, which has delivered more than 5,000 titles across major digital platforms in over 100 territories, is expanding its business model to include traditional acquisition.

“Quiver’s focus will always be self-distribution and empowering filmmakers with the tools and services to go it alone,” the company said. “However, they also recognize that there is a large contingent of filmmakers who can’t or don’t want to self-distribute. By entering the world of acquisition, Quiver can bring its reach, capacity, and tools to a new group of films and filmmakers.”

In an announcement at the American Film Market, Quiver said it’s launching the operation with a trio of titles:

Undecided: The Movie,” a satirical documentary that follows two self-proclaimed undecided voters as they follow the 2016 campaign trail, pranking and confronting each of the presidential

2015 Tony Awards Winners & Reactions: 'Fun Home' & 'Curious Incident' Win Big

"Not too bad, if I say so myself..." If I may take a quote from this year's Best Musical winner as I went 20/24 with my predictions for this year's 2015 Tony Awards. Undoubtedly, the two big winners of the night were the musical Fun Home and the play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, both of which took home five awards including honors for their leading men, directors, and, of course, Best Musical/Play. Right behind those two was the revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I, which picked up four awards, including Best Revival and for their long overdue leading lady Kelli O'Hara, who easily gave the best speech of the night (including dancing off the stage). I may predicted Tony co-host Kristin Chenoweth over her, but I am so happy to be wrong. yt id="MneMh2c-y0M" width="640" And what about Chenoweth

Bradley Cooper, Sting and Elisabeth Moss Nominated for 2015 Tony Awards

  • TooFab
New York (AP) -- The musicals "An American in Paris'' and "Fun Home'' each received a leading 12 Tony Award nominations on Tuesday, showing two very different sides of this Broadway season. One side is sunny -- the dance-heavy stage adaptation of the 1951 musical film with George and Ira Gerswin songs, and the other moody -- the dark show based on Alison Bechdel's coming of age graphic novel about her closeted and suicidal dad. "It's nice to know if something's good, there's room for it,'' said Max von Essen, who earned a nomination for featured actor in a musical in "American in Paris.'' "There's room for a smaller, darker piece and there's room for a big, show-stopping revival show with Gershwin.'' Michael Cerveris got one of the dozen nods for "Fun Home,'' as best leading actor in a musical, and hopes that will attract more people

Broadway Stars Perform at Bloomingdales for The Actors Fund

“Singing for your supper” is something an actor might need to take to pay this month’s rent. At the Actor Fund’s Benefit on Thursday, Broadway star Stephanie J. Morning Meme: Robin Gibb Passes Away, Mark Zuckerberg Changes His Status, and Cheyenne Jackson Takes "Drive" To Life Ball

Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees has lost his battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 62. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

John Fiala, a former priest who abused a 16-year-old boy while pretending to drive him to his girlfriend's home, then hiring a hit man to kill the boy ,has been sentenced to 60 years in prison. He'll be eligible for parole in 15 years.

Back when DC Comics was preparing to relaunch their 52 main titles, they told The Advocate that they wouldn't be making any existing characters gay, but would be creating new Glbt characters. At Kapow this weekend, they announced a change, saying that one of the relaunched titles would feature an existing character as gay who was previously straight, who will now be “one of our most prominent gay characters.” Any guesses?

NBA player Dominique Jones is allegedly caught up in an anti-gay Facebook rant.
