Rites of Passage DVD Release: “Nathan (Ryan Donowho), an anthropology student, invites a few of his classmates and their professor (Stephen Dorff) to his family’s abandoned ranch—once a sacred Chumash burial ground—to recreate an ancient ceremony. Buffalo, New York’s award-winning independent film studio DefTone Pictures Studios is having a busy year, and they've just added another project to their slate with To Release a Soul. Here are the film's trailer and a few behind-the-scenes photos.
To Release a Soul stars Jason John Beebe (Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast, Ombis), Melyssa Jade (Ombis), Guy Gane (The American Experience, Gettysburg: Darkest Days & Finest Hours), and Britt Griffith (Syfy’s "Ghost Hunters," The Black Dahlia Haunting). The story focuses on Carrie [Jade], a young woman who has recently broken up with her good-guy boyfriend Shawn [Gane]. Carrie decides to take a girls’ night out and meets an attractive and kind-hearted gentleman, Cody [Beebe], who buys her a drink; and they quickly hit it off.
