Sleepy Hollow Star Hints at What Would've Happened in Season 5
Sleepy Hollow is, sadly, still deader than Ichabod before Katrina worked her magic. But that didn’t stop star Janina Gavankar from throwing us a ye olde bone or two about what might’ve happened if Fox had renewed the supernatural drama for a fifth season.

“I do think that we ended on a great note, story-wise,” she told TVLine before the Saturn Awards Wednesday. “Crane is off in [Washington,] D.C. He’s really found his footing. Jenny and he have found a new home there.” And, as we saw in the final moments of the series finale, “He and Diana are going off strong,

Fox’s Sleepy Hollow Officially Canceled

If you've enjoyed watching the adventures of Ichabod Crane, then you may be sad to hear that Fox has canceled Sleepy Hollow after four seasons.

Multiple sources, including Variety, have confirmed the news of Sleepy Hollow's cancelation, which suffered low ratings in its fourth season that aired from January–March of this year.

The show's fourth season was shorter than its previous installments (13 episodes compared to the usual 18) and featured a core cast transition following the departure of Nicole Beharie after the third season.

The series premiered in September of 2013, introducing viewers to a new take on Washington Irving's classic short story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." Tom Mison starred as Ichabod Crane, who was transported from 1781 to a modern-day Sleepy Hollow. Creepy carnage ensued as the Headless Horseman and other evil entities terrorized the community.

At this time, there is no news regarding a potential pickup of

Sleepy Hollow cancelled by Fox

Fox has cancelled Sleepy Hollow after four seasons.

The supernatural drama starring Tom Mison has endured a long, sad decline following its ratings and critical success in season 1. The show declined in viewership through seasons 2 and 3 before losing its co-lead Nicole Beharie at the end of season 3. Most of the show's remaining fan base went with her.

Fox attempted to reboot the drama for season 4 with the show moving to Washington D.C. and Janina Gavankar coming on as a costar alongside Mison and Lyndie Greenwood. Oona Yaffee joined the cast as kid Molly, Ichabod's new "Witness" partner in the fight against the oncoming apocalypse. As you might have guessed, a show called Sleepy Hollow that is no longer even in Sleepy Hollow anymore was a steep sell — even without the awkwardness of Beharie's departure.

Hold onto your heads, “Sleepy Hollow” viewers: Fox has cancelled the series, after four seasons, Variety has learned.

Though the show was a buzzy fan-favorite series, the cancellation comes as little surprise, as the supernatural drama wrapped its lowest-rated season yet this March. Season 4 was ordered with a shorter run of 13 episodes, after every other season had spanned 18 episodes.

The fantasy-cop drama saw its ratings plummet in season four, averaging a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 1.9 million total viewers — down 40% in the demo and and 37% in viewers from season three.

The show had also undergone significant changes over the years both in front of and behind the camera. Following the second season, showrunner Mark Goffman exited the show and was replaced by Clifton Campbell. After the third season, star Nicole Beharie exited the series, posing a new creative direction for the show’s fourth season, though critics had praised the on-screen chemistry of Beharie and co-star

Sleepy Hollow Finale: Ep Breaks Down Crane's Stunning Deal With the Devil
Warning: The following post contains spoilers from Sleepy Hollow‘s Season 4 finale.

Well, would you look at that: The road to hell really is paved with good intentions.

The Sleepy Hollow season finale on Friday finds Ichabod offering Satan a lien on his soul in exchange for The Philosopher’s Stone, which the Witnesses use to revoke Malcolm Dreyfuss’ immortality long enough to wound him. Then, thanks to a ticked-off Jobe — who doesn’t like hearing that he’d be nothing more than Lara’s babysitter in Dreyfuss’ dystopian future — the demon henchman grabs his former boss and immolates him

Will the real Henry Parrish please stand up?

John Noble made his heralded (second) return to Sleepy Hollow Friday, but not quite as his usual alter ego, Henry Parrish. Instead, the Fringe vet showed up as an amalgam of Ichabod’s memories of him — preserved in the glass jar at The Vault since the despair demon incident — mixed with the blood of the Horseman of War.

As that deadline draws near, TVLine is singling out a few “bubble” shows and sizing up their prospects — based in large part on creative strides (and stumbles) and future potential, but also with a requisite nod to cold, hard numbers.

Next up is Fox’s revamped supernatural drama.

A giant spider demon disguised as Ichabod’s dead son puts Crane on trial in this week’s Sleepy Hollow. And if you think there’s anything metaphorical about that sentence, welcome! You’re clearly new to the show.

“The People vs. Ichabod Crane” provides the Fox drama with an opportunity to bring back fan favorite John Noble as Ichabod and Katrina’s not-so-dearly departed son, Jeremy Henry. The Crane men spend the better part of the episode arguing in a dreamlike courtroom over whether or not Ichabod should be found guilty for Abbie’s death. And while I’ll
