Elson is deemed primary resident parent for the couple’s two children, daughter Scarlett and son Henry. White was granted a total of 150 days a year with his two children. Let’s be honest, NYC has produced its fair-share of indie-rock heavyweights – the city has always been synonymous with rock ‘n’ roll substance, as well as style. Every time the music scene seems to stagnate, Mother NYC spits out an indie titan to come resuscitate rock music’s stuttering heart. Take the early noughties, for example, when indie-rock was in the doldrums. The city responded by providing not one – but three – saviours: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Strokes, and The Rapture – who arrived to revitalise and provide some much-needed CPR to the fragmenting music scene.
Arc & Stones are a four-piece indie-rock outfit from NYC and are hoping to add their name to that list of indie-rock hard-hitters. On the basis of their debut Ep, they’ve got the talent to give it a shot. It takes opening track “Silence” all of ten seconds to pull you in »

His death came just months after he learned he would be joining the Country Music Hall of Fame, a fitting tip of the cowboy hat to the man whose personal story is entwined with the roots of modern music like few others. Black Keys rocker Dan Auerbach has been rocked by some serious allegations. The musician's wife has filed for divorce and, per the Huffington Post, claims in court documents that Auerbach was an abusive husband. Stephanie Ann Gonis Auerbach did not disclose the exact nature of the abuse that purportedly occurred, but she alleges that it led, in one instance, to an incident in which she supposedly cut herself "superficially" on her legs and ankles. The 26-year-old singer, meanwhile, claims that his wife twice attempted to commit suicide—once supposedly in front of their daughter, of whom Auerbach has primary custody. Stephanie, who denies the allegations, reportedly retains »

It doesn't look like the divorce proceedings between Jack White and his estranged wife Karen Elson are going well. Though the former couple celebrated their separation with a party back in June 2011, Elson has now filed a restraining order against White claiming he's harassing her with e-mails and phone calls.
This request was put in with the Nashville circuit court. According to the filing, White is trying to pressure Elson into a settlement agreement over their two children. He also tried to get her to move their son from the classroom of The Black Keys' singer Dan Auerbach's child.
"He has persisted in discouraging her from communicating with or taking advice from her counsel in effort to coerce her into acting against her and the parties' minor children's best interests, often by emails laced with profanity and calling wife derogatory names," the filing says. "These communications are often »
Jack White has no love for The Black Keys. In White's nasty divorce it was revealed the White Stripes leadman hates Black Keys' singer Dan Auerbach. TMZ reports Jack's wife Karen Elson submitted a bunch of emails to a judge, claiming he was a threat to her safety. and they reveal Jack's hate for Dan and the band. Jack's anger stems from Dan's kid being in proximity to his child, writing, "My concern with Auerbach is because I don't want the kids involved in any of that crap ... That's a possible twelve f***ing years I'm going to have to be sitting in kids chairs next to that a**hole with other people trying to lump us in together." He »

The new video for “Pay No Mind” from L.A. singer/songwriter/garage rocker, Hanni El Khatib boasts a minimalist aesthetic and delivers fully as an all-out, fast-paced, punk anthem. From the producing prowess of fellow garage-music-savvy rocker Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, the track is the latest single from El Khatib’s newest album, Head in the Dirt. The video features the two most important staples of rock music: 1) Good-looking ladies and 2) a rock star. Easy-on-the-eyes cheerleaders rock out in an actual garage, dancing to the beat with Hanni's guitar amps on full blast. The girls gyrating to the music gives the impression that Hanni is doing something right, especially given the quality of their choreography. (Also, bonus points to the first group of girls I see at a Hanni El Khatib show that can nail this routine.) Hanni already has a fantastic track record for awesome videos. »

These past few months, I've grown weary trying to find albums that engage me from start to finish. In fact, I've yet to find one album in the past few months I can listen to top to bottom. I truly believe that we are back in the land of "singles." Not saying that a Blood on the Tracks, Dark Side of the Moon, Ok Computer, or (What's The Story) Morning Glory? isn't lurking in the shadows, but.... I'm old enough to have bought 45s back in the '60s when I was a young pup; my first was The Beatles' "Rain"/"Paperback Writer." In the land of digital, I'm happy to download one song from some new noteworthy act and let it fall into my enormous random shuffle playlist (over 8,700 songs and counting). And that "single" is not always the band or label's choice; in the age of iTunes, we »
