Sports media group One Championship is launching its own version of reality TV show “The Apprentice” that kicks off from March this year. It has amassed a suitably muscular array of broadcast partners.
“The Apprentice: One Championship Edition” assembles 16 fight candidates to compete through business and physical challenges over 13 episodes. Their $250,000 prize is the chance to work for a year directly under One Championship chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Contestants hail from 11 countries and were named as: Lara Pearl Alvarez (Philippines); Alvin Ang (Singapore); Irina Chadsey (Russia); Eugene Chung (U.S.); Teirra Kamolvattanavith (Thailand); Joy Koh (Singapore); Monica Millington (U.S.); Paulina Purnomowati (Indonesia); Jessica Ramella (Venezuela); Niraj Puran Rao (India); Nazee Sajedi (U.S.); Louie Sangalang (Philippines); Sho Takei (Japan); Clinton Tudor (New Zealand); Roman Wilson (U.S.); and Kexin Ye (Germany).
With the Singapore Tourism Board as partner, “The Apprentice: One Championship Edition” was filmed entirely in Singapore...

Sean Patrick Flanery was raised outside of Houston, Texas. His first role in Hollywood was a Kellog’s Corn Pops commercial starring alongside Paul Walker. In 1992, he landed the title role in George Lucas’ The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Since then, Flanery has been in numerous films and TV shows, including Powder, SAW3, Suicide Kings, and the runaway cult hit The Boondock Saints. Off camera, Flanery is a high ranking martial artist having earned his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from the Renzo Gracie lineage in 2008 and trains regularly when his film schedule allows. In his new film Born A Champion, which he wrote, Flanery plays Mickey Kelley, one of the first American black belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, who gets pulled away from everything he loves and into an unsanctioned Mma tournament.

It seems Gina Carano has got fans in a frenzy thanks to a nude photo she shared on her Instagram account over the weekend.
The mixed martial artist turned movie star has shown up in some pretty big blockbusters like Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool, though some of you may also know her for her starring role in the 2011 pic Haywire. Or perhaps you’re just familiar with her from her Mma career.
Whatever the case, though the pic was quickly taken down, it soon found its way onto Twitter, where users have been freaking out over the whole thing – with some reacting positively and some, well, not so much. In fact, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Renzo Gracie was just one of many who scolded her, and you can see what he had to say down below:
Renzo Gracie doesn't like when Gina Carano posts some sexy photos.

Jon Glaser loves gear. “Jon Glaser” really loves gear.
TruTV’s new series “Jon Glaser Loves Gear,” which premieres Wednesday night, defies classification. It’s a fake reality show about a celebrity who loves cool gadgets, but it includes segments with real people showcasing real cool gadgets. It’s heavily improvised, but with real scripted story tangents, as comedian Jon Glaser, playing an awful version of himself, watches the narrative unravel.
“It is weirdly hard to describe,” Glaser said. “And when people ask, ‘What is gear?’ that has an even wider definition.”
“Jon Glaser Loves Gear” follows the fictional Glaser as he pitches TruTV on the show, which the network quickly greenlights. He finds a sidekick (Steve Cirbus, “Delocated”) and in the first episode, and sets out to go camping. After his wife refuses to play along, he auditions models to play his spouse… and things fall apart once the camping gets started.

[[tmz:video id="0_d3an52ub"]] Being a badass fighter is part of Ronda Rousey's image, so a few hits to the face wouldn't ruin her burgeoning acting career ... so says the Victoria's Secret model who actually throws down in the ring too! TMZ Sports caught up with Gracie Carvalho at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City ... where our photog asked her if Rousey -- who is fighting Saturday night in Ufc 193 -- needs to be extra cautious about face shots,...

Ultimate fighting, it seems, has finally come of age. Ufc's recently announced seven year, one hundred million dollar deal with Fox TV imparts a legitimacy to the bloodsport. And now we as a culture are going to have to have an adult conversation about whether or not ultimate fighting should or should not be a "mainstream" sport. Then again, the people may have already spoken on that, as the television deal and the hardcore following the sport has suggests.
Ufc is not the anarchic gladiatorial fundament depicted in the movie "Fight Club." I am somewhat of a divided mind about ultimate fighting. On the one hand, there is quite a bit of "art" that goes into these mixed martial arts -- but a manly, very physical kind of art, to be sure. On the other hand, a strong though somewhat prudish argument could be made that it is indeed human cockfighting,...

On July 29 after a training session at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City, Ugo got the chance to quickly catch up with former Light Heavyweight Champion "Sugar" Rashad Evans about his training and his Aug. 6 fight against Tito Ortiz at Ufc 133.
Evans has been absent from the cage since his May 2010 fight against Rampage Jackson and has had a constantly changing set of challengers for his upcoming fight. Initially set to fight for the title against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, Evans decided to wait for Rua as he healed from an injury, but eventually had to pull out of the fight after he himself suffered a knee injury. What followed next was a series of opponents that had to cancel out fights with Evans due to injuries. Ufc 133 will be the first time Evans has stepped into the Octagon in 14 months, an extended break for a fighter in his prime.

In our last interview installment, comedian and Ufc commentator Joe Rogan talked about being a fan of horror books and movies, psychedelic drugs, growing up wanting to be an artist, and how dangerous both chimps and polar bears can be. In this, our second part of three, Dread Central delves deeper into the mind and philosophy of Mr. Rogan.
Once again, it should be said that the following interview includes some of the notorious “7 words” George Carlin warned you about. So buckle up…
DC: You once showed some drawings on your podcast that you did back when you were younger, and they were quite good. Was drawing something you lost interest in and replaced with something else?
Jr: I had a bad high school art teacher who was kind of a dildo. He was one of those guys who was always telling you that life was going to suck. “You...

Anderson Silva Doesn't Care What You Think
Something happened during the third round of the Anderson Silva-Demian Maia middleweight title fight that pushed the main event into the Twilight Zone.
For the next 10 minutes Silva juked, jived, danced, ran, hid behind the referee and generally mocked Maia all the while fans rained down boos. Anderson was a predator, playing with his wounded prey and the crowd demanded that he finish the fight out of common decency, or at least act like he cared about being there.
At one moment, I fully expected Rod Serling to step out from behind the curtain with a cigarette in his hand to pass along a wise parable of a man destroying his reputation through his own hubris.
Depending upon who you read, Anderson is either a horrible jerk for "clowning around" or Silva is a supremely talented, yet woefully misunderstood martial artist.

Ufc 112: Invincible marks the Middle Eastern debut for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As with the promotion’s previous invasions of new markets there is more at work than simply who is fighting in the cage.
Huge Favorites and Big Underdogs
When Manny Pacquiao fought Joshua Clottey no one gave the fighter from Ghana much of a chance to defeat boxing’s reigning pound-for-pound king. The fight was unbearably one-sided (it may have been the diarrhea causing Banku and Okra stew that Clottey ate the night before) but that didn’t stop the fans from buying over 700,000 pay-per views.
Ufc 112 finds itself in a similar situation. Two pound-for-pound kings in Anderson Silva and B.J. Penn plus a fading legend in Matt Hughes provide the card big star power. Yet, according to the odds-makers, their collective opponents have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning.
The most competitive fight, at least according to the bookies,...

If your relationship with The Ultimate Fighter is the equivalent of your on-again, off-again relationship with that special someone then these first few episodes represent the happy honeymoon of a fresh flirtatious relationship with a familiar person. Don’t worry, that brief spat of happiness will soon disappear. Luckily for viewers, we are still in that golden zone where everything is peachy and all those old flaws that drove us apart haven’t caused us to break up—yet.
It is in that spirit that we dive right into the second episode of the eleventh season of The Ultimate Fighter. For those that missed the first episode, it cut the cast down from 28 contestants to 14. Now it is time for the coaches to pick their teams.
