Mini Bio (1)

Mateo Arias is an actor, known as Jerry on the Disney series Kickin' It, and provided the voice of Antonio Perez in the 2013 animated film Despicable Me 2. Other shows include Yours, Mine & Ours and Good Kids.

Mateo was born on October 31, 1995 in New York City, New York, USA, the son of parents from the Paisa region of Colombia. He is the younger brother of actor Moises Arias. Like his brother, he was brought up bilingual and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Before fame, he had his first minor acting role in the 2005 family comedy Yours, Mine, and Ours when he was just 10 years old. He has also made special guest appearances on Drake & Josh and Cold Case, and played Andre in the 2009 Disney Channel Original Movie, Dadnapped.

His brother Moises Arias played a major role in Kickin' It after they produced YouTube film series together. For the brothers action guide together was like a dream come true. "He's always there when I'm filming my pending scenes and tells me what I'm doing, if I'm overreacting or if you do not put enough energy. He tells me everything", Arias said. "But even though the young man is doing work he loves most, do not forget your high school education."

The actor says he likes shooting videos with his brother Moses Arias. These can be viewed on YouTube under the user Moiswashere. "The idea of recording the videos came out when we were bored and were not working. We love making YouTube videos together, then improvise with the camera. If we write scripts from time to time but we like to improvise a lot", said Arias. He also admires actors Will Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio. Mateo is also close friends with actor and rapper Jaden Smith, who frequently appears in the Arias brothers' videos.

Mateo played the role of Hispanic black belt character Jerry Cesar Martinez in Kickin' It from June 13, 2011 for almost four years until March 25, 2015. Apart from acting, he is still decent in martial arts even off screen and count as another addition to his brilliant talents. Despite enjoying his former role, Arias does not rule out the possibility of someday working in full length films. "I would love to do a movie role, a very dramatic thing where I touch mourn. But I would love to do something in which is my greatest passion of all, I love music, I like directing, acting, and writing. I would love to know a bit of everything and that's important knowing a little of each work done in the world of entertainment ".
