His brother Moises Arias played a major role in Kickin' It after they produced YouTube film series together. For the brothers action guide together was like a dream come true. "He's always there when I'm filming my pending scenes and tells me what I'm doing, if I'm overreacting or if you do not put enough energy. He tells me everything", Arias said. If we write scripts from time to time but we like to improvise a lot", said Arias. He also admires actors Will Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio. Mateo is also close friends with actor and rapper Jaden Smith, who frequently appears in the Arias brothers' videos.
Mateo played the role of Hispanic black belt character Jerry Cesar Martinez in Kickin' It from June 13, 2011 for almost four years until March 25, 2015. Apart from acting, he is still decent in martial arts even off screen and count as another addition to his brilliant talents. Despite enjoying his former role, Arias does not rule out the possibility of someday working in full length films. "I would love to do a movie role, a very dramatic thing where I touch mourn. But I would love to do something in which is my greatest passion of all, I love music, I like directing, acting, and writing. I would love to know a bit of everything and that's important knowing a little of each work done in the world of entertainment ".
