Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Trance’ first look poster out, sends fans into a tizzy

The director of the film National Award-winning Anwar Rasheed has managed to get the attention of the movie buffs with this single first look poster. The poster features Fahadh Faasil being seated, on what appears to be a cot, with two pairs of legs hanging right above him. This strange-looking poster has garnered the attention of the film buffs and the expectation levels are soaring already. Directed by Anwar Rasheed, Trance has been scripted by Vadakkan Vincent. Bankrolled by Anwar Rasheed under his banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainments, the film stars Fahadh Faasil in the lead role with Vinayakan, Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod, Sreenath Bhasi and Alphonse Puthran also included in the star cast. Apart from directing and producing the film, Anwar Rasheed is also handling the camera. Earlier, when the film was announced, there were reports that Fahadh plays a priest in it but the filmmakers are keeping every other detail about it under wraps. To know more about Trance, we have to wait until its release on April 28. It may be mentioned that Fahadh Faasil and Anwar Rasheed had teamed up for the anthology Anchu Sundarikal and this is their second venture together. Further, Anwar Rasheed is wielding the megaphone after a gap of five years, which is another reason to look forward to Trance. The last film he had directed was the Dulquer Salmaan starrer Ustad Hotel which released in 2012 and was lauded by critics and audiences alike. He has also worked on films like Rajamanikyam, Chotta Mumbai, Annan Thambi and two short films in the anthology Kerala Café. Premam actor gets married

Malayalam actor and director Soubin Shahir apparently got married to Jamia Zaheer in a low-key ceremony in Kerala today (December 16) morning. Jamia Zaheer works as a marketing professional in Kozhikode.

Soubin has acted in several Malayalam films since 2013, however, he got his major breakthrough with Nivin Pauly's Premam which released in 2015. He assisted directors like Fazil, Siddique, Santhosh Sivan, Rajeev Ravi, and Amal Neerad before testing his hands at acting.

Soubin has also directed a Malayalam film titled Parava produced by Anwar Rasheed and starring Dulquer Salmaan in a pivotal role.

Fahadh Faasil busy filming ‘Trance’ in Mumbai

Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil is on a roll with some prestigious projects in his kitty. The actor is currently busy with the filming of Trance.

The film’s shooting is taking place in Mumbai, where the entire crew is presently stationed. While filming in Mumbai is expected to go on for another week, the team will then head to Kochi for the next schedule.

This popular Premam actor is officially engaged!!!

Popular Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir got engaged to his girlfriend Jamia Zaheer. Soubin confirmed this news via Instagram. He also shared a picture of the two of them with a text saying "engaged."

Jamia Zaheer works as a marketing professional in Kozhikode and her wedding with Soubin is scheduled for next month. Soubin has acted in several films since 2013, however, he got his major breakthrough with Nivin Pauly's Premam which released in 2015. He played the role of a Pt master in the film. Mammootty’s upcoming film has an interesting title and it is Unda. Though the reason behind this unique title has not been revealed yet, movie buffs are curious to know what it is all about.

Anwar Rasheed quashes rumours of teaming up with Dulquer

Dulquer Salmaan is on a signing spree with the star having a handful of projects in various stages of production. And recently, news surfaced that he would be teaming up with director Anwar Rasheed who had directed him in Ustad Hotel.

Amal Neerad quashes rumours about Mammooty film

There have been reports that cinematographer turned director Amal Neerad will be directing Mammootty in the biopic on Kunjali Marikkar. Quashing the news as mere rumours, Amal Neerad pointed out that it was baseless and wondered where such gossip cropped up from.

Currently busy wielding the megaphone for the Fahadh Faasil starrer Trance which is being directed by Anwar Rasheed, Amal said that he will not be directing the biopic as reported by a section of the media.

'Neelakasham Pachakkadal Chuvanna Bhoomi' is a Dulquer Salmaan film that has a distinctive flavor embedded in its soul. The movie tells the story of two friends, Kasim (Dulquer) and Suni (Sunny Wayne) who went by road to Nagaland to win back Kasim's love. “Paan Singh Tomar” wins National Award 2012 for Best Film
Paan Singh Tomar (Hindi) directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia was declared the Best Film at the 60th National Film Awards announced today at a joint Press Conference addressed by the Chairpersons of the three juries; Basu Chatterjee for Feature Films, Aruna Raje for Non-Feature Films and Swapan Mullick for Best Writing on Cinema.

In non-feature film category, the award for the Best Film went to Shepherds of Paradise (Gojri & Urdu) produced and directed by Raja Shabir Khan. In the category of Best Writing on Cinema section, the book ‘Silent Cinema in India – A Pictorial Journey’ (English) written by B.D. Garga has bagged the top honour, whereas P.S. Radhakrishnan has been conferred the award for the Best film Critic.

Bolivian film “Pacha” to open 1st Kochi International Film Festival

Bolivian film “Pacha” to open 1st Kochi International Film Festival
Pacha, a Bolivian film by Héctor Ferreiro will open the first edition of the Kochi International Film Festival today. The festival that will run from December 16-23 will be inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy.

The festival will screen films from Latin America, Europe, Asia and USA, apart from films on the 100 Years of Indian Cinema and Centenary of Masters.

A total of 50 international films and 24 Indian films will be screened. Five films from Thailand, eight from Poland six films from Iran will be a part of the international section. While 18 Malayalam, one Tulu film and three Hindi films are in the line-up.

Ashiq Abu, Anwar Rasheed to get Mohan Raghavan Award - News
Kochi, Oct 17: Malayalam directors Ashiq Abu and Anwar Rasheed will be honoured with the Mohan Raghavan Award for their films "22 Female Kottayam" and "Usthad Hotel", respectively.

The award includes a cash prize of Rs.25,000, a citation and a statuette.

John Paul, head of the jury, announced the award in a press meet at Kochi Tuesday. Both the directors will receive the award from Ganesh Kumar, former actor and currently Minister for Forests & Environment, Sports and Cinema in Kerala.
