It's time to face the music – again – because someone is about to go home from The X Factor! After last night's Michael Jackson tracks, Queen songs and Lee Nelson-shaped stage invasion, we're about to say goodbye to one of the nine remaining acts.
The stakes are (in true X Factor fashion) Higher Than Ever, because the person or group who heads home tonight won't be joining the all-important tour next year. So join us as we strap in for One Direction, Sam Smith and a teary goodbye when the show begins at 8pm...
20:58It's Big Band Week next week - but no Bublé. Instead, we're getting Olly Murs and Nicole Scherzinger. But that's that from us for tonight - we'll see you back here next weekend...

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has promised to put some extra effort into choosing Treyc Cohen’s song this week.
The ‘Promise This’ singer turned Treyc into a bit of a rock chick last Saturday and had her sing the classic Led Zeppelin track ‘Whole Lotta Love’. However, despite rave reviews from the judging panel, Cohen still ended up in the bottom two last night.
A caller on The Xtra Factor suggested that Treyc may be better suited to big diva numbers and Cheryl replied:
“When the theme [Guilty Pleasures] came up, we chose something that was out of her comfort zone.
“I thought she rocked it out. But that’s what this show’s about and it’s decided by the public. Next week maybe we’ll go back more to her genre.”
On the chance of her scoring a hat trick and winning the show for the third time, Cole...

Former X Factor finalists Same Difference have revealed that they are preparing to launch a new single.
The brother and sister duo finished in third place on the 2007 series of the ITV show and were initially signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco label before being dropped after their debut album ‘Pop’ failed to storm the charts.
Sean and Sarah Smith are now getting ready to launch a single entitled ‘Shine On Forever (Photo Frame)’ on August 29th 2010. They wrote on Twitter:
New single out August 29th and album to follow.
They later told their followers that they filmed the video for the track at the Lightbox Room at London’s Fire nightclub.
Check out the video and leave your comments and thoughts on the song below. We kind of like the poppy track in all it’s cheesy goodness. It’s like Steps have been reborn!

Epic records have set in place a five year plan for former X Factor stars Jls, which could see them reaping in millions of pounds each.
Their record label plans for the boys to release a new album each autumn until 2015 and at the same time announce a new arena tour for the following winter.
The plan will see the band having a product for sale during each lucrative Christmas period and will also allow them some time at the start of each year for promotional work in other countries, such as America.
A source told The Sun: “Until recently the music industry wouldn’t touch boybands with a barge poll.
“Eyebrows were raised in some corners when the lads got a deal but it’s proved a very wise move.

“Their label Epic believe Jls are a long-term prospect and are working on a strategy stretching into 2015.

Former X Factor contestant Maria Lawson is set to release a new album in early 2010.
Maria was evicted from the 2005 series when Louis Walsh chose to save the crappy Conway Sisters over her. She is currently starring in Thriller Live.
Lawson has revealed that her second album ‘Emotional Rollercoaster’ will feature a track written by Diane Warren (who has previously worked with Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton) and has been produced by Brian Rawling.
Maria said:
‘The changes that have happened to me over the last few months have been up and down but I have learnt to embrace change and move forward. ‘One of the most incredible achievements in my life has been giving birth to my son and making this album it has been an emotional rollercoaster.

It would seem that the fifth week of an X Factor series, is a particularly dangerous time for any talented female contestants taking part.
Last night we saw young Lucie Jones getting voted off after Simon voted to save John and Edward Grimes. The backlash today has been enormous, just read the fans comments on any of our posts on the decision. However if you cast your minds back this is not the first time such a controversial eviction has occurred.
Back in 2005, it was week five which saw Maria Lawson lose her place to the abominable Conway Sisters. The media backlash against Louis Walsh who voted to save them, almost caused him to leave the show…..if only he had followed through!
Last year it was Laura White who left in the fifth week, despite having at one point being tipped to win the show by bookies and experts alike.

Maria Lawson has done well since her controversial vote-off from The X Factor three years ago. After the show she got signed to BMG and scored a top 20 single with her debut 'Sleepwalking'. Since then, she's been modelling for Bravissimo lingerie and working on her first book Life Starts Now, which will reveal all about her time with Simon Cowell and co. We caught up with Maria to get her honest opinions of this year's hopefuls. Alexandra Burke - "I really like Alexandra. She's got a great voice and I think she'll do really well. I can't believe she didn't get thought the first time! That actually happened to me. I went the year Steve Brookstein won and didn't make it through. Determination always pays off, so it's good to see her back. She'll want it more because she missed out last time." Diana Vickers (more)...
