Cathy Belben is a native of Bellingham, Washington. A 1986 graduate of
Bellingham High School, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in English from
Washington State University and went on to teach English, Spanish,
Journalism, and Psychology at Nooksack Valley High School. She
graduated from Western Washington University in 1991 with a degree in
Educational Administration.
Active in local theater, she portrayed Corie Bratter in "Barefoot in
the Park," and directed numerous student plays, including her own
creation "Prince Peter and the Peaceful Plan."
Belben worked as a high school librarian in Burlington, Washington from
1999-2005 until moving to Hollywood to join the staff of UPN's Veronica
Mars, created and produced by Rob Thomas.
In addition to screenplays, Belben has published numerous works of
short fiction and non-fiction in publications including Cicada,
Bookmarks Magazine, School Library Journal, The Bicycle Paper,
Knowledge Quest, VOYA, and The Book Report.
