Outlander Season 3 Finale Recap: Loose Lips, Sunken Ship, Thwarted Trip

Need to catch up? Check out the previous Outlander recap here.

Claire, may I humbly suggest that you never set foot on a seafaring vessel ever again?

If the vagaries of 18th-century sea travel aren’t tough enough on their own, this week’s Outlander caps a season in which Mrs. James Fraser was pressed into service as a ship’s doctor, was forced to live aboard a boat full of men dying in extremely disgusting fashion, jumped overboard to escape said boat and then wound up on another ship and weathered a seriously scary storm before nearly drowning when

Trailer Watch: Hayley Atwell Is Proud of Her Independence in “Howards End”

Howards End”: Starz

A trailer has arrived for Hayley Atwell-starrer “Howards End.” Starz’s upcoming period drama sees the “Agent Carter” alumna playing Margaret, a young woman who lives in London with her sister Helen (Philippa Coulthard) and brother Tibby (Alex Lawther). “You are really the most peculiar girls,” Aunt Juley (Tracey Ullman) tells Margaret and Helen. She proceeds to describe Margaret as being “so independent,” and coming from her, that’s not a compliment. Juley clearly wants Margaret to rely on someone in particular — a husband.

“Since the death of their parents and despite their interfering Aunt Juley’s best intentions, the sisters lead independent and slightly unorthodox lives,” the official synopsis for the four-episode series details. “After meeting the wealthy and conservative Wilcox family on holiday, Margaret forms a friendship with the older and more traditional Ruth Wilcox (Julia Ormond). When Ruth unexpectedly dies, Margaret finds

Let me count the ways: In Edwardian (check) London (check), two unconventional sisters (check) follow romance (check) and get embroiled in a secret (check) that could undo their happiness. Plus there are horses and beautiful English homes and witty conversations and an amazing cast. I mean who needs to be convinced of this? 46 TV Shows That Have Been Straight Up Canceled in 2017

Can you feel the tension in the air? Networks have been announcing decisions about which shows will return in 2018 and which will . . . not. While there are a number of shows that are ending in 2017, many of them at least got a final season to finish out their stories. (New Girl and Portlandia aren't on this list, as they have been granted final seasons and will end in 2018.) Ahead are all of the shows we were forced to say goodbye to this year. ABC The Real O'Neals: After two seasons, the show is over. Dr. Ken: Ken Jeong's medical comedy is history. Imaginary Mary: Viewers didn't tune in for Jenna Elfman's show, and now they never will. American Crime: Though critically acclaimed, the anthology drama is through. Secrets and Lies: After a solid first season, rating dipped in season two and ABC has canceled the drama.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and the Surprising Rachel Brosnahan

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and the Surprising Rachel Brosnahan
Midge Maisel is the hero we need right now. House of Cards veteran Rachel Brosnahan trades in the zip ties and inconspicuous hoodies for kitten heels and swing dresses as Miriam "Midge" Maisel, the lead character of Amy Sherman-Palladino's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, a new Amazon series about a 1950s housewife who finds herself on an unexpected journey through nightclubs as an up-and-coming stand-up comedian. Brosnahan commands the screen just as her character takes control of the cafe stage. The character—and Brosnahan in real life—speak at Sherman-Palladino's trademark whiplash speed. Midge is unafraid to use her voice. To quote Hayley Atwell's Agent Carter, another fictional...

Exclusive Interview – Alex Lawther on The End of the F***ing World, his creative influences and more

Alex Moreland talks to Alex Lawther about his new show The End of the F***ing World, his return to theatre, and more…

First of all, how did you get involved with The End of the F***ing World? What drew you to it?

What drew me to it at first… Charlie’s writing. Charlie Covell, who adapted the comic books, Charles Forsman’s comic books, had made something which I didn’t recognise as having seen on television before – it was dark and used comedy to express that darkness, and seemed to take an imaginative idea and really go as far as possible with it, which I really like. I like when ideas are gone for and tested to their limit. Yeah, I think it was that, really.

I sort of get the impression that you’re quite careful and deliberate with the roles that you take on. Do
