Hayley Atwell Continues To Tease Agent Carter’s Return In Avengers 4

17 October 2017 9:55 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Is Agent Carter on her way back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? It’s certainly looking that way.

The first piece of evidence surfaced last month when a casting call for Avengers: Infinity War was revealed. The production was searching for 60s secretaries and engineers, leading many to believe that the character would return via flashback, which is very possible. Now, more fuel has been added to the fire thanks to a recent photo that Hayley Atwell, the actress who plays Peggy Carter, shared on Instagram this week.

Seen in the gallery below, it looks fairly innocent on first glance, right? It’s simply a shot of a book on a table, which isn’t really all that exciting. However, it’s the caption that accompanied the pic that’s got people speculating, as it reads: “Sunny afternoon in Georgia.” As fans will know, that’s the state where Avengers 4 is currently shooting, »

Meg Gardiner’s “Unsub” Being Developed as Series at CBS with Liz Friedman Writing

Gardiner: meggardiner.com

“Unsub” hit shelves this June, and the crime story is already serving as inspiration for the small screen. CBS has bought a drama based on Meg Gardiner’s novel with Emmy nominee Liz Friedman (“Orange Is the New Black”) attached to pen a pilot script, Deadline reports.

The book centers on a female detective tracking down an infamous serial killer — “inspired by the still-unsolved Zodiac case — who breaks his silence and begins killing again,” the source writes. “The detective, who grew up watching her father destroy himself and his family as he chased the killer, now finds herself confronting the same monster her father never caught. The series will feature the lead character pursuing other UNSUBs (UNknown SUBjects, a law enforcement term used for suspects in a criminal investigation) as part of the NYPD’s elite homicide division.”

Friedman and Gardiner are among the project’s executive producers, and the former will serve as showrunner. She most recently co-created ABC’s Hayley Atwell-led legal drama “Conviction,” which was cancelled after a season. Her other credits include “Jessica Jones,” “House,” and “Xena: Warrior Princess.”

“Into the Black Nowhere,” the second book in Gardiner’s “Unsub” series, is expected to be published early next year. Her other books include the Jo Beckett series, “Ransom River,” and “The Shadow Tracer.”

CBS received some well-deserved bad press this year due to the lack of women-centric series on their fall schedule.

Meg Gardiner’s “Unsub” Being Developed as Series at CBS with Liz Friedman Writing was originally published in Women and Hollywood on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story. »

Just one day after embattled executive Harvey Weinstein was essentially fired from The Weinstein Company, which he helped create with his brother Bob Weinstein, the company's board is seeking to distance themselves from him even further. A new report reveals the company's board of directors is considering a change of the company name, with the studio bringing on two different advertising agencies to develop a new "brand identity." This report also reveals that, as part of the fallout from numerous sexual harassment charges, Harvey Weinstein's name is being removed from all of the upcoming film and TV projects he was involved with before his firing.

This report also reveals that, on early Sunday morning, after worrying that he might be given the axe by the company's board of directors, Harvey Weinstein reportedly sent out numerous emails to, "several powerful Hollywood associates," asking them to plead to his company's board »

Harvey Weinstein Once Called Hayley Atwell a Fat Pig

9 October 2017 6:51 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The hits just keep coming for Harvey Weinstein who has recently been publicly accused of being a serial sexual harasser and an all-around terrible human being. It's been reported that the Hollywood mogul has been paying off accusers for decades and more people are stepping forward to tell their stories about Weinstein and his antics. In the wake of the accusations, many who were close to Weinstein have begun to jump from the sinking ship as public outrage begins to grow and more allegations stack up. The latest accusation comes from the New York Post's Page Six.

The new report details a trip that Harvey Weinstein took to visit the set of Brideshead Revisited, which was filming in the English countryside in 2007. Weinstein visited the set because his first company, Miramax, was negotiating to distribute the project in the United States. The movie features performances from talented actors including Hayley Atwell, »

Casting call reveals 80s flashback in Ant-Man and the Wasp

6 October 2017 10:52 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

A new casting call for Ant-Man and the Wasp has confirmed that the Marvel sequel is set to include a 1980s sequence, with the production seeking “men and women of all ages who can portray Argentinean locals for a park scene taking place in 1987.”

Interestingly, 1987 is the year that Janet Van Dyne disappeared into the Quantum Realm as The Wasp and Hank Pym’s (Michael Douglas) Ant-Man attempted to disarm a Soviet missile.

Presumably the scene in question will be a flashback of sorts, setting the stage for Janet’s subsequent return later in the film (where she is being portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer).

It may also possibly explain the recent post from Hayley Atwell, where she teased a Peggy Carter return, complete with tracking dots on her face.

Agent Carter to Return in Avengers 4?

24 September 2017 12:11 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Production got under way last month on Avengers 4, although Marvel Studios still hasn't released any official story details for the final Marvel Phase 3 movie. Since the currently-unknown Avengers 4 title is said to be a huge spoiler for next year's Avengers: Infinity War, it seems unlikely that we'll get too many details, at least until after Infinity War hits theaters. Today there is speculation that this movie may actually bring back Hayley Atwell as a possibly de-aged version of her character Peggy Carter, who passed away in Captain America: Civil War last year.

The actress posted a photo on her Hayley Atwell Instagram yesterday, which showed her with several dots on her face for motion-capture, while drinking from a large mug. She also added in her caption, "Don't question my process. It's very serious #setlifethuglife," and while she didn't specifically state what set she was on, many fans immediately thought that »

Hayley Atwell sparks speculation about Peggy Carter return in Avengers 4

24 September 2017 6:58 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Over the past few days we’ve had confirmation of a number of stars for the currently-in-production Avengers 4 – including Don Cheadle (War Machine), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier) and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) – and now Hayley Atwell has sparked speculation that she could be set for a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Peggy Carter.

Atwell shared the following image to her Instagram account, complete with curlers in her hair and tracking dots across her face…

Given Marvel’s penchant for digitally de-aging and aging its stars using CGI, it’s possible that Atwell is teasing playing an older version of Peggy. Adding further fuel to the fire is a recent casting call for Avengers: Infinity War, which was seeking secretaries and female engineers for a small scene believed to take place in the 1960s. Of course, this may be for another project entirely, but with the scenes in »

Disney's Aladdin Takes Old Star Wars 9 Release Date

12 September 2017 4:47 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Disney dropped two major pieces of news today, revealing that J.J. Abrams will take over for Colin Trevorrow at the helm of Star Wars 9, which lead to the second item later today, when the Star Wars 9 release date was delayed from May 24, 2019 to December 20, 2019. That release date shift has lead to the studio shuffling some of its other dates around, most notably, giving the highly-anticipated Aladdin remake the old Star Wars 9 date, setting it for release on May 24, 2019. As of now, the live-action Aladdin movie will face Warner Bros.' Minecraft, with Stx's Uglydolls and TriStar's The Rosie Project dropping May 10, 2019 and Disney/Marvel's Avengers 4 starting the summer movie season on May 3, 2019.

Deadline also reports that, despite Star Wars 9 shifting release dates before filming even begins, the studio is still standing firm with its May 25, 2018 release date for their Han Solo spin-off. After firing Phil Lord and Chris Miller in the middle of production, »

Christopher Robin Casts Winnie the Pooh and His Hundred Acre Wood Pals

14 August 2017 6:30 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Disney is moving right along with more and more live-action versions of their most beloved animated properties. One of the next ones coming down the pipeline is Christopher Robin, which is going to be a live-action version of Winnie the Pooh with an adult version of the loveable bear's human pal rediscovering his animal friends years later. The adult cast already includes Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting) as Robin, with Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) recently signing on to play his wife. Now, the voice cast for the animals of the One Hundred Acre Wood has been announced.

According to a new report from That Hashtag Show, Jim Cummings, who has voiced Winnie the Pooh in many animated projects over the years, is once again set to reprise the role in Christopher Robin. That should come as welcome news to fans of the character. In addition, the depressed but loveable donkey Eeyore is »

Marvel's Agent Carter was ditched after its second season by ABC, but after the show's cancellation everyone involved seemed genuinely crestfallen and eager to revive the series elsewhere.

Agent Carter Producers Would Love To Do A Series Revival

7 August 2017 9:01 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

While Marvel is currently doing some of their most impressive work to date over on Netflix, they’ve yet to really hit their stride on network television. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuted on ABC back in 2013 and has struggled with ratings ever since, and Agent Carter, which starred fan-favorite character Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), only lasted two seasons before getting the axe.

Of course, there’s also Damage Control and Most Wanted. The former, which is a sitcom following a “Marvel cleaning crew who specializes in dealing with the aftermath of the unique fallout from super hero conflicts,” has unfortunately still not come to fruition. Most Wanted, meanwhile, was set to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff but at the last minute, ABC chose not to move forward with it.
