On the Marvel front, Netflix recently announced plans for four Marvel superhero programs - Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist. Those four will culminate in a miniseries called The Defenders (see more info Here). Whether these shows are connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains to be confirmed. Odds are that they will be, with the current conjecture leaning towards these shows taking place in the '70s. Disney executive Bob Iger also commented that another Marvel show in addition to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is also in development (see more info Here) and there's a lot of scuttlebutt which says that series is an extenuation of the Agent Carter One-Shot starring Hayley Atwell. This makes sense as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was born from the Agent Coulson One-Shot. On the DC front, Arrow has been more successful than most would have dared project and is The CW's most watched show. »
Having reprised his role from Captain America: The First Avenger this year for the Iron Man 3 Marvel One-Shot Agent Carter, actor Neal McDonough has been speaking about the prospect of him returning as Dum Dum Dugan in future Marvel Studios projects - specifically, the rumoured Agent Carter TV series with Hayley Atwell, which seems to be much more then a rumour judging by the way McDonough is talking about it.
"I'll be going into the office next week and take a peek at it with the guys, 'cause they were talking about...I mean what a perfect series this would be," McDonough tells IGN. ""You've got Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on now, and this would be like a 1940s S.H.I.E.L.D. It's pretty great stuff. I would love to do it. Dum Dum's one of my favorite characters I've ever played. He's just so much fun. You know he's just another barrel-chested, »

“It’s an origin film. You meet people who are going to be around for a while, so they introduce the characters. It’s almost like it’s a series. It’s fun. »

Talk about a red carpet sacrifice! Captain America actress Hayley Atwell proved the world of fashion isn't always glamorous when she attended the Evening Standard Theatre Awards in London. Wearing a sheer, white floral gown, the 31-year-old beauty looked her absolute best. The only problem was she could barely walk as she smiled for the cameras. "I'm thrilled to be presenting at the Evening Standard awards on Sunday @standardnews My dress is…very beautiful. Hope I can walk in it…" she tweeted to her followers. The floor-length Julien Macdonald gown traveled both inside and outside the Savoy Hotel and may have left a couple of marks. "I left a trail of »

Melissa Rosenberg will write and produce a series based on Marvel's Jessica Drew character for Netflix, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Rosenberg will serve as a writer and executive producer.
Rosenberg, screenwriter for the Twilight films, was tapped years ago to develop Aka Jessica Jones, a drama revolving around the Marvel hero at ABC, but the series never materialized. Rosenberg most recently ran ABC's Red Widow.

The Jessica Jones series is one of four centered on Marvel heroes Netflix is developing. The streaming service has committed to a minimum of four 13-episode series, which will begin rolling out in 2015 and is slated to culminate in a miniseries about The Defenders, a dream team of heroic characters.

Since 10 Things I Hate About You was released in 1999, it's become one of the last great high school romantic comedies, and not just because the death of Heath Ledger makes his heartthrob performance that much more treasured. Now Gil Junger, the writer and director of the original film, is back with a pseudo-sequel/spin-off called 10 Things I Hate About Life. However, it doesn't look like the film has any connections to the original with the exception of the title. Originally, Hayley Atwell was attached to this project, but it's Evan Rachel Wood in the lead along with Thomas McDonnell as two lost people who find love in each other when they meet after each of them fails to commit suicide. Now isn't that charming? Yes, it sounds much darker than the first film, but there you have it. Now we have some first look photos from Vision Films (via SlashFilm »

Yesterday, Marvel and Netflix announced their partnership, which will see four new series, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, coming to the digital streaming service starting in 2015. These four 13 episode season one shows will culminate in a Marvel's The Defenders mini-series event, which repurposes the team known from the comic books to include Netflix's four new small screen heroes.
During a conference call yesterday, after the announcement, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed further details about the Marvel and Netflix team up, saying that a 5th series, which will air on ABC as a companion piece to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., is also in the works. Though, he would not give away the title to this mystery Marvel one-hour drama. Many believe that this new series will revolve around Agent Carter, as played by Hayley Atwell in Captain America: The First Avenger and the Marvel One-Shot that revolves solely around her character. »
DirecTV continues to impress with its savvy original-programming acquisitions, the latest being a pair of U.K. imports: “Black Mirror,” a creepy and clever anthology series, informed by a slightly cracked view of technology; and “Secret State,” a familiar template for a political thriller imbued with star wattage thanks to a cast headed by Gabriel Byrne. If there’s one to watch it’s the former, which captures some of the unsettling aspects of modern life considered through a near-future prism. Comparisons to “The Twilight Zone” shouldn’t be tossed about lightly, but this falls within those heady dimensions based on a sampling of the six episodes produced for Channel 4.
The “Black Mirror” premiere, written by exec producer Charlie Brooker, might be the most bracing, if only because it covers so much ground in such a provocative way: The British prime minister (Rory Kinnear) is roused from sleep and »

It’s a great time to be a nerd.
Sure, we bloggers and critics like to worry, over-analyze, and bitch about our geek obsessions. I can only speak for myself and say that it comes from a genuine place of love and enthusiasm. That being said, there are still days where I probably come off like a jaded, ungrateful asshole. But then you get a day like yesterday…
You see, I went to bed last night living in one world, only to wake up and discover that the world now contains a video game called Tiny Death Star and the news of a Marvel/Netflix team-up, with four new Marvel TV shows coming soon to an internet near you, culminating in a Defenders miniseries. And Daredevil, one of my favorite comic book heroes, is leading the charge into this brave new TV world. The only way this day could get »

It's been in the works for a while now, but it looks like the "10 Things I Hate About You" spinoff is finally getting off the ground.
The movie, called "10 Things I Hate About Life," isn't a sequel so much as a continuation of the beloved teen flick, described as "advanc[ing] situations from the original film." In its current iteration, it stars Evan Rachel Wood and Thomas McDonell ("Fun Size," ABC series "Suburgatory") as two people who meet just as they're about to commit suicide, and end up falling in love.
Production had started a year ago before shooting was shut down, but now filming is expected to begin again in December. A previous version of the movie had "Captain America" star Hayley Atwell attached in Wood's role.
"10 Things I Hate About Life" will be helmed by "10 Things I Hate About You"'s director, Gil Junger. Here's hoping Junger finds a »

Next year’s full of potentially great films, so to help, here’s a list of 25 movies we're most looking forward to in 2014...
These lists of anticipated forthcoming movies have become an annual fixture by now, and as ever, our selection has been tricky to whittle down. In restricting our list to just 25, we've tried to create a mix of the high-profile and the less obvious. Movies such as Non-Stop, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, Big Hero Six and Edge Of Tomorrow came close but didn't quite make the cut, even though they have much to offer for their own reasons.
Furthermore, given the number of films competing for space, we've left the latest chapters of The Hunger Games and The Hobbit off the list. We're keen to see both, but we're wary of taking up slots with movies »
