Need to catch up? Check out last week’s American Gods recap here.

No, You’Re feeling guilty for dismissing American Gods‘ Mad Sweeney as a stereotypical drunk-‘n’-belligerent member of the fightin’ Irish.

In this week’s episode of the Starz fantasy drama, we find out a bit about the leprechaun’s back story, including why he’s drawn to Laura Moon. Much of the explanation comes wrapped in an extended Coming to America story about Essie MacGowan, whom book readers will recognize as the Essie Tregowan of Neil Gaiman’s novel.

Need to catch up? Check out the previous American Gods recap.

We meet a new god — who, ironically, isn’t a New God — in this week’s American Gods, and he’s seriously gunning for Shadow and Wednesday.

Sure, at first glance, Vulcan seems like your average gregarious, friendly bullet-factory owner. But there’s more to his ammunition than you might think, and he’s just as slippery as the molten metal flowing through his foundry.

Elsewhere in America, Laura “Dead Wife” Moon and Mad “Unlucky Charms” Sweeney run into someone new to them (but not to us). Read on »

Producer Mark Gordon Slips the Bonds of Hollywood

31 May 2017 9:45 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Producer Mark Gordon was only a few years removed from landing a best picture Oscar nomination for “Saving Private Ryan” when he decided to move into TV production in a significant way. His first series to make it on the air was “Lax,” a poorly received sudser for NBC that was canceled eight weeks after takeoff in the fall of 2004. The following year, the two shows that came from the Mark Gordon Co. enjoyed considerably more longevity. Both are still on the air, and both are tentpoles for their respective networks: ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and CBS’  “Criminal Minds.”

Nearly a decade later, “Grey’s” and “Criminal Minds” would prove to be the financial engines that would allow Gordon to take another big leap. In January 2015 he set an innovative deal with British-Canadian distribution company Entertainment One to establish an independent studio that bears his name. The producer now has his own money on the line »

Hayley Atwell Reveals What Would Have Happened In Agent Carter Season 3

30 May 2017 12:24 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Even though it’s been a year and a half since it left the airwaves, diehard fans of Agent Carter have still not forgiven ABC for cancelling the Marvel spy series. If you recall, season 2’s finale left many dangling plot threads unanswered, both in terms of the characters’ relationships and the ongoing narrative. Unfortunately, we’ll never see these ideas come to fruition, but at least now we have a flavour of what might have transpired.

While attending Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in London over the weekend, Peggy Carter herself, Hayley Atwell spoke a little bit about what we would have seen in Agent Carter season 3. For one, we would have had Peggy grow even closer to Jarvis and his wife Ana. Atwell said that the strengthening bond between Peggy and Jarvis was one of her favourite elements of season 2 and that she would have loved to have seen that explored some more. »

Forget making it rain: American Gods‘ Shadow Moon can make it snow.

That’s not some euphemism: It seems as though the ex-con who’s recently spent some time with some very odd people may have a touch of the weird about him, as well.

The Starz series’ third episode is when I started to really fall in love with the show. That happened for two reasons. First, this hour is the one where Mr. Wednesday and Shadow really start to gel, especially as comedic partners, and Ian McShane »

Final Wonder Woman Trailer

8 May 2017 6:00 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Comicbook reports that Wonder Woman has released it's last trailer during the MTV Movie Awards on May 7th. With the movie expected in theaters on June 2nd, this should be the final trailer we see before the film debuts. The film centers on her life on her native Themyscira with the Amazon's and her work during World War One with American pilot Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine.

The new trailer is pretty good but lacks the emotional depth you find in similar movies. Being one of the first real attempts at a superhero film starring a female lead, you want to be given reasons why this film will be worth your money yet, apart from some great action sequences, I'm just not seeing it yet.

The trailer comes across like the first Captain America film. The weakest among the Steve Rogers films, it was set mainly during World War »
