New Comic-Con Trailer + Poster for Wag's 'The Lego Ninjago Movie'

22 July 2017 8:32 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"A true ninja knows when to fight, and when to blend in the shadows." With Comic-Con underway, Warner Bros has debuted another new trailer for The Lego Ninjago Movie at the comic book convention in San Diego. This latest Lego Movie from Warner Animation Group, arriving in theaters this fall, tells the story of six young ninjas who must go back to their ninjas root to defend their island called Ninjago. Jackie Chan voices Sensei Wu, their master and ninja teacher. The rest of the main voice cast includes Olivia Munn, Dave Franco, Michael Peña, Abbi Jacobson, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Fred Armisen, and Justin Theroux as the evil Garmadon. This looks as good as the previous two Lego movies, with as much humor and action and wacky, fun quirks thrown in - like the cat at the end of the trailer. I'm down for this. Here's the full Comic-Con »

Exclusive: What ‘Glow’ Taught Betty Gilpin About Being a Strong Woman

19 July 2017 12:40 PM, PDT | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

For an actress who has made a career out of acclaimed off-Broadway plays and parts on prestige TV shows such as Nurse Jackie, Masters of Sex and, more recently, American Gods, Starz’s stylized adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s cult novel, it comes as a surprise to see Betty Gilpin rocking spandex, glittery eye shadow and at least half a can of Aqua Net on Netflix’s female wrestling dramedy Glow. In person, however, the self-described “theater geek” is decidedly less glamorous. “I have toothpaste on my face right now,” deadpans Gilpin, speaking to Et by phone from her Brooklyn apartment.

Last year was perhaps the busiest of Gilpin’s life, considering that she not only landed parts on two of the most talked-about new TV series, she also got married to Cosmo Pfeil, a former actor who now works at a nonprofit. (Ironically, the couple met while playing siblings in the 2009 movie The Northern Kingdom.) “While »

The Disaster Artist: first trailer for James Franco’s movie

Simon Brew Jul 19, 2017

The story of the making of The Room is already attracting awards buzz. Here’s The Disaster Artist trailer…

London’s Prince Charles Cinema regularly puts on screenings of Tommy Wiseau’s cult hit movie, The Room. Cited as, bluntly, one of cinema’s least impressive efforts, the movie nonetheless draws a crowd, and Wiseau has continued to attend Q&As, and do his bit to embrace its fandom.

Furthermore, Wiseau’s best friend, Greg Sestero, wrote a book about the making of the movie. And now that book is being turned into a film that’s already being talked about as a potential awards candidate.

The Disaster Artist is directed by James Franco, and he takes on the role of Wiseau in the film too. The cast also includes Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, Lizzy Caplan, Zac Efron, Bryan Cranton, Kristen Bell, Josh Hutcherson, Alison Brie, Judd Apatow, »

Author: Scott Davis

As if we couldn’t be any more excited by this one, A24 have released the very first trailer for the eagerly anticipated The Disaster Artist, which you can view below.

Based on the book of the same name by Greg Sestero, The Disaster Artist tells the behind-the-scenes story of cinema’s greatest bad film, The Room, and the work of writer/director Tommy Wiseau (played by Franco in the film) who created the film. Dave Franco stars as Sestero in the film alongside an array of A-list talent who fill out the supporting roles.

The Room gained ultimate cult status back in 2003 and was considered one of the worst films of all time. But as the years went on, the film grew into one of the “must-see” films and through many additional screenings, including quote-a-longs at London’s Prince Charles Cinema (where it now plays many »

First Trailer for 'The Disaster Artist' Starring James Franco as Wiseau

18 July 2017 8:02 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Oh, hi Mark!" A24 has unveiled the first trailer for the film The Disaster Artist, a fictional account of the making of the "best worst movie ever made" - The Room, as directed by Tommy Wiseau. The film stars James Franco, who also directs, as Tommy Wiseau, the awkward mastermind behind this disaster of a movie. This first trailer focuses entirely on one scene and Wiseau's attempts to perform the line properly. The impressive ensemble includes Seth Rogen, Alison Brie, Zoey Deutch, Zac Efron, Dave Franco, Bryan Cranston, Kristen Bell, Eliza Coupe, Josh Hutcherson, Sharon Stone, Adam Scott, Jason Mantzoukas, Kate Upton, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Ari Graynor, with an appearance by Judd Apatow. Whew, what a cast. I've got a good feeling this is going to be something special, perhaps as good as Burton's Ed Wood (also about the making of a "worst film"). This first premiered at the SXSW Film Festival. »

James Franco's Movie About the Worst Movie Ever Made Actually Looks Pretty Hilarious

18 July 2017 8:00 AM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Typically a tagline for a movie sings its praises, but Seth Rogen and James Franco's The Disaster Artist is anything but typical. The buddy comedy duo has teamed up yet again to tell "the true story of one movie so bad it became infamous," aka Tommy Wiseau's 2003 cult drama, The Room. Screenings of The Disaster Artist at SXSW racked up positive critiques, and if the rest of the movie is anything like the first hilarious teaser, we're even more excited. Franco stars as Wiseau alongside brother Dave Franco, Alison Brie, Bryan Cranston, Dylan Minnette, Zoey Deutch, Kristen Bell, and Zac Efron. The release date is still Tbd, so why don't you check out The Room for yourself in the meantime? (Just kidding.) »

Teaser Trailer for “The Disaster Artist” suggests a laugh riot

18 July 2017 7:40 AM, PDT | Hollywoodnews.com | See recent Hollywoodnews.com news »

Among modern day cult films, The Room stands tall. Not since The Rocky Horror Picture Show has a midnight movie captured audience adoration like Tommy Wiseau’s “masterpiece”. Even in Hollywood, it’s an iconic picture. As such, it was never a huge shock that a look at its inception was going to receive the cinematic treatment, especially after an acclaimed book about its making hit shelves. What’s surprising is that A-list talent has surrounded it from top to bottom, including A24 distributing. The Disaster Artist, as it’s known, made waves at SXSW and now has a Teaser Trailer to showcase, well in advance of its December release date. You can see the Teaser below, but first, a dive into Wiseau’s world! For those of you who aren’t aware of the movie in any notable way, here’s a quick little primer. It’s a look »

Coming Distractions: Everything goes wrong at once in first The Disaster Artist teaser

18 July 2017 7:33 AM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

James Franco’s had to fend off concerns that his desire to tell the story of the making of the best-worst movie, The Room, was just a lark since the project’s inception. But he’s been very hands-on with The Disaster Artist, which is based on the book about Tommy Wiseau’s notorious film. Franco stars in and directs the film, which also features his family and usual compatriots—Dave Franco, Alison Brie (who, in addition to knocking our socks off in Glow, recently married Dave), Seth Rogen, and Charlene Yi. Franco also claimed that preparing to play Wiseau was very similar to his process for playing James Dean.

Keep all of that in mind as you watch the first teaser for The Disaster Artist, which sees Franco (as Wiseau) botch his lines repeatedly, but like a total pro. Indeed, he nails the flatness of Wiseau’s halfhearted refutations »
