Andrea was born in Lima, Peru. Granddaughter of artist Nelly Franco and niece of influential sculpture artist, Marta Franco, she studied art and photography during her school years. She was also very close to her maternal grandfather, Bernardo Batievsky, an aspiring Peruvian filmmaker, who produced feature films such as "Espejismo (Mirage) 1973". Andrea inherited artistic talent from the Franco family, and the Batievsky passion for filmmaking.

After finishing high school she was accepted in the "Universidad de Lima", where entered the School of Communications. During one of her summer breaks, she went to New York and attended a 2 month workshop at the NY Film Academy.

After two years in the "Universidad de Lima", she transferred to the School of Communications Film Program, at the "University of Miami" in Coral Gables, Florida, in order to broaden her knowledge of film and photography, and graduated in May, 2004. She worked in several student films and documentaries, to later work independently on "Quiero Volver". The film sent her to the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, where she won the Audience Award for Best Documentary, in a festival which carried over 300 films.

Andrea also worked as production assistant, designer and product sponsor coordinator for the non-profit "Florida Room's Annual documentary film festival", which took place in November 2004 in Miami Beach, Florida. She is currently producing promos for VH1 Latin America in Miami, from the MTV Networks.
