Back in August, we reported that the highly-anticipated all-female spin-off Ocean's Eight will begin principal photography sometime this October in New York City, under the direction of Gary Ross. Today we have the first photos from the set as filming got under way yesterday, with our first look at Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter. It isn't known exactly how long filming is expected to last for, but Warner Bros. has already set a June 8, 2018 release date, going up against Transformers 6.
The photos surfaced on various Twitter accounts yesterday, with both Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett spotted together in the Big Apple. While no plot details have been confirmed, it is believed that Sandra Bullock is playing the ex-con sister of George Clooney's Danny Ocean, with Cate Blanchett playing a character similar to Brad Pitt's Rusty Ryan from Ocean's Eleven. These photos also give us our »
It's hard to believe, but Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock have never been in a movie together before. Yet here they are on the NYC set of Ocean's Eight on Monday, palling around like old friends. Sure, they've probably sat at tables together at numerous award shows, but the upcoming Ocean's Eleven spinoff is their first time being credited as costars. Previously titled Ocean's Ocho, the movie is being called Ocean's Eight and includes the very strange cast of Bullock, Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter (who you can also see in these set pictures), Mindy Kaling, and Rihanna. Needless to say, we can't wait to see more pictures. Take a look! »

It’s a small world after all — well, at least in Hollywood.
Swift arrived early to the birthday bash — which brought together 150 of the rapper’s closest family and friends at the h.wood group’s Delilah — and had several girlfriends in tow, including model Karlie Kloss and the Haim sisters.

“American Honey” is a movie that takes the temperature of youth culture in a way that no movie has in years. It tells a good story, about a girl named Star (Sasha Lane), 18 years old, with Rasta Barbie braids and a skeptical smirk, who joins a wolfpack of kids in their late teens and early twenties who live on the road, traveling from one cookie-cutter motel to the next, making money by hustling magazine subscriptions door-to-door. They don’t sell their bodies, but in a way they do: Most of them are striking-looking in a trashed-runaway vagabond skate-punk way, and they use their pierced-and-tattooed street charisma to evoke pity and awe. They flirt and charm their way into selling a product that no one really wants.

Lesley and Anton say lovely things about each other, and dance their final dance like your drunk aunt and uncle at a wedding. Just as it should be.
Craig saves Daisy and Aljaz, as does Darcey. Bruno does likewise, and Len would have done the same. So Lesley And Anton are going home.

While earlier this week we pointed out how a whole fleet of stars from Rihanna to Kim Kardashian are loving their waist-length hair, inspired by Cher’s own flawless mane, it seems that not every star has jumped aboard the long-hair-don’t-care bandwagon. Not only did Diane Kruger recently reveal a slightly shorter bob on Instagram, as did Entourage star Emmanuelle Chriqui, but now it appears that America Ferrera is not only campaigning for Hillary Clinton, but actually turning into her.
Although Diane Kruger first teased that she’d made an alteration to her coif about a week ago, »

You can’t say that Luc Besson isn’t putting all his cards on the table for next summer’s “Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets.” The director’s dream project/comic book adaptation is already promising to be big and bold, bringing together an eclectic cast —Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, John Goodman, Herbie Hancock and Kris Wu— for a grand sci-fi spectacle.

Valerian, the wildly ambitious sci-fi opus in the works from Luc Besson, is set to get a spinoff mobile game in time for its theatrical release next summer.
In development at Spil Games, the tie-in has been pitched as a strategy game that will become available on mobile platforms just before Valerian‘s grand debut on July 21. Further details regarding pricing and platforms weren’t disclosed at this time, but we assume that that spinoff will be compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
“Spil Games impressed us with their vision and understanding of the world of Valerian,” Valerian producer Virginie Besson-Silla said Wednesday in making the announcement. Added Besson, the game will use “the movie’s back story to create what will be a completely immersive universe for players.”

One of the several movies showcased at New York Comic Con this weekend was director Luc Besson's sci-fi adventure Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, with the filmmaker showcasing seven minutes of unfinished footage. This footage wasn't released to the public after the event, but Luc Besson did reveal that the first teaser trailer will arrive next month, while shedding new light on the sci-fi thriller, and how it compares to his beloved 1997 sci-fi adventure The Fifth Element.
The idea to adapt the Valerian comic book first surfaced when Luc Besson was working with Valerian comic co-creator Jean-Claude Mézières on The Fifth Element. Luc Besson added that he was a huge fan of the comics, reading them since he was 10 years old. During a press event at New York Comic Con this weekend, the director told The Hollywood Reporter why he couldn't have made a »

American Honey review
With the likes of Fishtank and Red Road, filmmaker Andrea Arnold has crafted excellent social commentaries on life in the United Kingdom but now moves Stateside for a proper American road movie with America Honey.
The film starts with lead Star (a debuting Sasha Lane) rummaging through trash cans at the side of a busy road in middle America. It is there where Star finds Shia Labeouf’s rat-tailed Jake and his motley-crew of magazine sales-boys and girls who are gliding through town on their way to their next destination. After a proper meeting in the local Walmart where they seemingly connect with Rihanna’s relevant We Found Love (In A Hopeless Place) playing in the background, Star decides to leave »

With just a week to go until its UK release, Universal Pictures has debuted a new clip from writer-director Andrea Arnold’s Cannes Jury Prize-winning drama American Honey which sees Shia La Beouf’s Jake dancing to Rihanna’s We Found Love in the middle of a supermarket; take a look below after the official synopsis…
Star (Sasha Lane), an adolescent girl from a troubled home, runs away with a traveling sales crew who drive across the American Midwest selling subscriptions door to door. Finding her feet in this gang of teenagers, one of whom is Jake (Shia Labeouf), she soon gets into the group’s lifestyle of hard-partying nights, law-bending days, and young love.
American Honey is out now in the Us and is set for release October 14th in the UK. »

With its cast now in place for the highly-anticipated Ocean's Eight, Warner Bros. has set a June 8, 2018 release date for this project. This new all-female reboot will square off against what could be a huge summer blockbuster, Paramount's Transformers 6, while also arriving two weeks before Disney and LucasFilm's Star Wars spin-off centering on Han Solo. It will also open one week before Disney Pixar's long-awaited Toy Story 4 and two weeks before Universal's Jurassic World 2.
Entertainment Weekly reported on the release date last night, although there are still no plot details that have surfaced yet. We last reported on the project this past August, when it was revealed that production is being eyed to begin in October. We still don't have an exact production start date yet, but with the main cast members in place, filming could begin any day now. Jennifer Lawrence was previously eyed for a role, but she »
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets released a new poster and new images for New York Comic Con. Fans in attendance of Nycc can check out a fun and immersive booth for the film and comics on the convention floor from 10am to 7pm, but for those who won’t be able to make it, the film still has a little more to show you.
It’s taking a big chance, considering the track record of duck-billed aliens in film, but this one does look fantastic. Luc Besson is a guy who could make this kind of thing work, and the source material is brilliant.
I’m not locked into Dane DeHaan yet, and I might need to see some footage before I feel more comfortable with him, but Cara Delevingne has proven that she can pull off some interesting roles recently.
You’ve still got a long wait, »
