Retired wrestler Hulk Hogan has filed a lawsuit against his former lawyers for billing him over $1 million (£666,670) for services he alleges should have been provided free of charge.
The reality TV star is angry at Zuckerman Spaeder representatives for their handling of his son Nick Bollea's 2007 car crash, which left passenger John Graziano in hospital with severe brain damage.
Hogan claims executives at the law firm were contacted by experts at his car insurance company, Progressive, who offered to provide the the star with legal representation for free.
In court documents filed on Monday in Pinellas County, Florida and obtained by TMZ.com, Hogan alleges Zuckerman Spaeder executives were aware of the Progressive offer for 17 months before alerting him to the free services, costing him "in excess of one million dollars" in legal fees.
Furthermore, Hogan claims when he was finally told of the Progressive offer, his policy holders had "terminated the relationship" and refused to cover the bulk of his legal costs.
He is demanding unspecified damages.

Hulk Hogan's son Nick is taking legal action against two businessmen he claims ran up an $80,000 (£53,000) bill on his credit card without permission.

Hulk Hogan's son Nick will return to court next year to face a negligence lawsuit filed by the family of the friend he left brain damaged when he crashed his car in August 2007.
Nick Bollea was freed from Florida's Pinellas County Jail in October after serving 166 days of an eight month prison sentence for his part in the high speed collision that left John Graziano with permanent brain injuries.
Graziano's family filed an auto negligence civil lawsuit against Nick, his wrestler dad Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, his mother Linda Bollea and friend Daniel Jacob in March, alleging they were negligent in the acts leading up to Graziano's injury.
The family is seeking unspecified damages in the suit.
Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge W. Douglas Baird ruled on Monday he will clear three weeks from his calendar in March 2010 to preside over the trial if the parties are unable to settle the case before that date. »

Just because Linda Hogan isn't Ed Graziano's estranged wife doesn't mean she's not spooked. Hulk Hogan's soon-to-be-ex missus has expressed concern that Graziano, who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of hiring a hit man to kill his estranged wife, Debra, may also have targeted the former Hogan Knows Best matriarch. "Any threat from Ed Graziano would and is being taken very seriously," Hogan said in a statement Friday. Graziano's son, John, was left with permanent brain damage after Nick Hogan's 2007 DUI crash, for which Nick served close to five months in jail on a reckless-driving charge. Linda's publicist told Tampa Bay's 10Connect.com that »

Hulk Hogan's son Nick Hogan has been granted permission to drive for business-related purposes - just months after he was jailed for a drunken car crash that left his best friend brain damaged. The 18-year-old served five months of an eight-month sentence after pleading no contest to a felony reckless driving offence following a horrific car crash in Clearwater, Florida in 2007 - which left his friend and passenger, John Graziano, severely injured.
He was released from Pinellas County Jail in October.
Hogan's lawyers recently petitioned for the teen to be allowed to get back behind the wheel for work, despite his license technically being suspended until 2011, as per the terms of his sentence.
And the motion has been approved by officials at the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, insisting Hogan is within his rights as long as he obeys the driving restrictions. »

Hulk Hogan may know best, but here's hoping the Florida courts know what they're doing, too. Less than four months after walking out of jail, where he served nearly five months for a DUI crash that left his passenger permanently disabled, Nick Hogan has been given a special business-only driver's permit allowing him to motor back and forth from work. And that's where his joy riding ends, considering the 18-year-old's driver's license is technically suspended until 2011 as part of his punishment for the 2007 accident. Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles spokeswoman Ann Nucatola told Tampa Bay's ABC Action News that Hogan is allowed to drive to and from his »

Were there any real celebs at this year's Sundance Film Festival? All I kept hearing about was Paris Hilton, Kevin Federline's first baby mama and the very low-class Linda and Nick Hogan. I mean, if I were a celebrity, I think I might skip it myself. It seems like it's lost its appeal to the big names. Am I wrong? —Beth I suppose my mentioning of a Deschanel and Michael Cera wasn't enough for you. Well, you may blame Barack Obama. According to Eileen Colavita, whose Spin Shoppe PR company ran one of the swag suites at this year's Sundance, most people left the film fest after just a few days, so that they could head to D.C. and take part in the inaugural balls.
