Chinkee Tan was born as Ferdinand Tan. He is an actor and writer, known for Alyas Batman en Robin (1991), Jacky Tyan (1988) and Bikining itim (1990).

A business management graduate of Philippine School of Business Administration (PSBA).
As a child, he helped augment his family's income by selling toilet paper, pants, shoes, shirts and other garments. His father's insurance business collapsed, he was forced to help his parents earn money.
At 28 (year 1994), he left show business and vowed to become a millionaire before the age 35 as he concentrated in networking business.
Author of book "Six Steps to Financial Freedom."
Children: Kyla and Jethro.
During the energy crisis that hit Philippines during the administration of Corazon Aquino in late '80 to early '90, he sold rechargeable electric fans.
Eldest of three children.
Entered show biz in 1987 as a member of Randy Santiago's Hawi Boys, along with Willie Revillame, Dennis Padilla and Jong Cuenco. Randy was then at the peak of his popularity and he needed bodyguards and protectors from fans and mobs.
Formed the Millionaires in Business (MIB) with eight friends involved in network marketing for Prudential Life in 2001. Their vision is to provide life-changing opportunities to develop a financially literate and debt-free society. MIB members now include Dino Guevarra, singer Franco Laurel and TV actor L.A. Mumar.
He produced the first concerts of Ogie Alcasid ("Peksman" at Heartbeat Disco in Quezon City) and Dingdong Avanzado ("Love-struck," also at Rumors), as well as other shows for Martin Nievera and Regine Velasquez.
In 1992, he became a Born-Again Christian when fellow "Lunch Date" co-host Toni Rose Gayda shared the Good Word with him. Presently, he attends the Victory Christian Fellowship at Robinson's Galleria, together with other celebrities such as Coney Reyes, Rommel Adducul, Donita Rose and Alvin Patrimonio.
In her college days, he organized afternoon discos, with a featured artist. He and nine of his friends chipped in 500 pesos each for the event. The business boomed and even produced a show for Randy Santiago at Rumors, then the most popular entertainment venue in Metro Manila. It was then that Randy discovered Chinkee.
Introduced in I Love You Three Times a Day (1988) in 1988.
Known as Ferdie Tan in the Philippine business world.
Met wife Novee in 1999 during a prayer meeting at Victory Christian Fellowship. Wife, a voice teacher at the UST Conservatory of Music where she also graduated magna cum laude, is a worship leader.
Randy Santiago gave him his show biz name, Chinkee, because of his "chinky' (Chinese) eyes.
