It’s not often that you can remember what you were doing a decade ago, but in this case, I can. Ten years ago at this time, I was vehemently following the production of Justice League Mortal, looking for any news I could find online pertaining to it. After all, this was set to be the first live action meet up of DC’s premier superheroes on the big screen.
Set to have been directed by George Miller with a cast of up-and-coming actors featuring the likes of Armie Hammer as Batman, DJ Cotrona as Superman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Common as Green Lantern and Adam Brody as The Flash, it certainly seemed like we were off to the races and the dream was about to be made a reality.
But, unfortunately, that was not the case as the plug was pulled on the blockbuster for a variety of reasons. »

It’s pretty well known now that just over ten years ago, Mad Max director George Miller was working on Justice League Mortal for Warner Bros. The film, ultimately shelved in part because of the success of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy at the time, had its cast in place too.
Armie Hammer was set to play Batman, D J Cotrona was Superman, Common was Green Lantern, Megan Gale was Wonder Woman, Adam Brody was The Flash, Teresa Palmer was Talia al Ghul and Santiago Carbrera was Aquaman.
On villain duties? That was set to be the character Maxwell Lord, who Jay Baruchel was going to play.
After many years of waiting, DC fans are finally going to get the live-action Justice League movie they've always wanted. We still don't know for sure if it's going to be as good as everyone hopes it will be, but fingers are crossed. As many DC fans likely know, director George Miller tried to get Justice League Mortal made in 2007 that ultimately fell apart. That movie was going to feature an epic fight between Superman and Wonder Woman, which Jay Baruchel, who was supposed to play the villain Maxwell Lord in the movie, has just dished some details on.
Jay Baruchel recently appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in order to promote his movie Goon: Last of the Enforcers, which serves as his directorial debut. While speaking a bit about the canceled Justice League movie, which was officially titled Justice League: Mortal, he revealed the fight between Superman and Wonder Woman, »
It seems audiences can't get enough of vampires. Sky has announced an adaptation of the popular All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness, shortly to begin production in Wales and Oxford. Not only will the show star Teresa Palmer (Hacksaw Ridge) and Matthew Goode (Downton Abbey, A Single Man), but the first three episodes will be directed by Juan Carlos Medina (Painless, The Limehouse Golem). Palmer will star as Diana, an Oxford scholar and descendent of the Salem witches. When she discovers an ancient manuscript, she is forced to acknowledge the magic in her blood, and enters into a forbidden lover affair with a strange geneticist (Goode), who happens to be a vampire. The producers at Sky see this as an adult romance, set against a...

The deal, announced Wednesday, will see Bad Wolf , the production company set up by Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner in 2015, formalize its role to supply high-end, large-scale drama for Sky and HBO’s $250-million multiyear co-production partnership, which was unveiled in April.
“Sky and HBO share a common creative culture, and this deal deepens our relationship and maintains our leadership position in world-class content,” said Gary Davey, managing director of content at Sky. Davey will join Bad Wolf’s board at part of the deal alongside Glenn Whitehead, HBO’s executive vice president of business and legal affairs.

Attn: fans of Deborah Harkness' 2011 fantasy hit A Discovery Of Witches: the Oxford-set tale is coming to Sky One courtesy of Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner's Bad Wolf production company. Filming is due to begin this September in location in Oxford and Venice and at Wales' new Wolf studios, with Matthew Goode in the role of geneticist Matthew Clairmont, and Hacksaw Ridge's Teresa Palmer as lead Diana Bishop. The plot involves the discovery of »

Matthew Goode and Teresa Palmer will star in supernatural romantic drama series “A Discovery of Witches” for Sky. The Sky Original Production will be adapted from Deborah Harkness’ novel for Sky 1 and Now TV.
Produced by Bad Wolf, “A Discovery of Witches” is scheduled to begin production at the new Wolf Studios facilities in Wales and on location in Oxford from September. Bad Wolf announced its new production studio, which is based in Wales, in May this year.
“A Discovery of Witches” is described as a contemporary love story set against the backdrop of Oxford academic life, but in a world where witches, vampires and demons live and work unseen amongst humans. Palmer stars as an historian and reluctant witch, denying her heritage, whose discovery of a manuscript throws her into the heart of a dangerous mystery and into the path of an enigmatic geneticist (Goode), who is a vampire.

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris brought joy to our lives for years with their adorable relationship, sweet red carpet moments, and normal family life with their son, Jack. But in August 2017, the two shocked fans when they announced their decision to legally separate. "We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed," they said. "We still love each other and will always cherish our time together." That time together started way back in 2007 on the set of Take Me Home Tonight, a movie set in the '80s about a recent college graduate (Topher Grace) who has no idea what he wants to do with his life. After attending a Labor Day party in his hometown, he tries to win over his high school crush (Teresa Palmer) and prove that he can make decisions for his future. Anna plays Topher's twin sister, while Chris plays her onscreen boyfriend-turned-fiancé-turned-ex. »

"Whoever you work for, get him! This was a Message from the King." Don't mess with Chadwick Boseman! Netflix has released a new official Us trailer for the hardcore action thriller Message from the King, starring American actor Chadwick Boseman as a mysterious badass who comes to Los Angeles to find his sister. "His pursuit of revenge will lay bare a network of depravity that stretches from the dive-bars of the gang heartlands to the glitz of the Hills." The entire cast includes Teresa Palmer, Luke Evans, Alfred Molina, Tom Felton, and Sibongile Mlambo. This kind of looks like a cool mashup of Taken plus John Wick, with Boseman kicking some serious ass while seeking revenge for his sister. Yes, yet another revenge movie, but at least it's not the typical version of this kind of story. Or maybe it is? I'm still interested. Enjoy. Here's the official Us trailer »

Considering their lack of transparency when it comes to viewership for specific movies and shows, it’s no surprise that Netflix’s release calendar is not akin to a theatrical roll-out. While we often hear of a movie’s release many months (sometimes years) in advance, when it comes to the streaming giant, it may just be a week or two prior we’ll get a heads up that a film is arriving.
Such is the case with a new film led by Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther, 42), the old-fashioned revenge thriller. Message from the King, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival last fall, is getting a Netflix release next week and now the first trailer has arrived. Directed by Fabrice Du Welz (Alléluia, Calvaire) and also starring Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer, and Alfred Molina, check out the trailer below for the film following Boseman’s character as he heads »

Updated: Warner Bros. and DC have a massive, seemingly unstoppable hit on their hands in the form of “Wonder Woman” — which has so far pulled in over half a billion dollars in worldwide ticket sales — but that doesn’t mean that everyone involved with the project are currently lining their pockets with cold, hard cash. And that includes even star Gal Gadot.
As Variety reported in January of 2014, the actress is signed for a three-picture deal with DC, including “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Wonder Woman,” and the upcoming “Justice League” film. For each film, the Israeli star is set to receive just $300,000. You read that correctly. (Update: Over at BuzzFeed, a new report holds that “Gadot was paid ‘at least’ as much for ‘Wonder Woman’ as [Henry] Cavill was paid for ‘Man of Steel,'” more on that below, though the reported $300,000 amount has not been debunked.)
