Schmidt and Cece, together again! The New Girl season 4 finale might have seen the loftmates say goodbye to Coach in the name of love, but it also featured a monumental relationship development for two other characters. Max Greenfield's Schmidt and Hannah Simone's Cece not only got back together, but they also got engaged! Photos: TV's best couples That's right — Schmidt and Cece are getting married, and Greenfield was just as eager for their reconciliation as the audience was. "Look, I was impatient! I was like, how long [...] »
New Girl finales aren't always the most eventful episodes, but that could not be said of Tuesday's season four wrap-up, which propelled several characters forward (and one out of the show completely) and left the veteran Fox comedy poised to enter uncharted territory. Spoilers ahead for anybody who has yet to watch. Following last week's set-up, Coach went the way of exiting star Damon Wayans Jr. But that came as no surprise. What was slightly unexpected was the eleventh-hour engagement between Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone) — together, apparently for the duration of the series,

Here's hoping New Girl threw Zooey Deschanel quite the baby shower! In tonight's epic season four finale (one of our favorite episodes of the show ever), one of the Fox sitcom's main couples took a major step in their relationship: They got engaged! Warning, spoilers ahead! That's right, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) finally made good on the (five dollar addition to the douchebag jar worthy!) promise he made to Cece (Hannah Simone) when he first met her, asking, "Girl, will you marry me?" Cue the waterworks! But the couple's surprise proposal, which you can re-watch and cry over below, almost went down in a completely different way, creator Liz Meriwether tells E! »
The will-they-won't-they saga of Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) has become the surprise emotional center of New Girl ever since the will-they-won't-they saga of Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) burned bright and fizzled out rapidly in seasons' past. After hooking up in secret to dating in the open to Schmidt's massive screw-up when he tried to date two girls at once, breaking Cece's heart in the process, fans have wondered if this couple would ever get back together. And now, in season four, Cece realized she had feelings for her ex once more...just a little too late, as Schmidt found himself in a serious relationship with serious city councilwoman Fawn Moscato (Zoe Lister »
Just in time for its return to original episodes tonight, Fox comedy “New Girl” has been picked up for a fifth season, the network announced Tuesday.
While not the ratings dynamo it was early in its run, “New Girl” remains a key component of Fox’s live-action comedy roster, so it’s renewal was something of a no-brainer. The show is also set to celebrate its 100th episode during the upcoming 2015-16 season (most likely in November).
“Four seasons in, ‘New Girl’ continues to be one of the smartest and most relatable comedies on television,” said David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “The writing is razor-sharp, the ensemble is consistently hilarious, and we couldn’t be more proud of Liz, Brett, Dave and the entire ‘New Girl’ team. We absolutely love this show and we’re so excited to bring it back for Season Five.”

Oh no, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) fell into the ex trap. Tonight's episode of New Girl will find Jess coming face-to-face with two blasts from the pasts during and after a wild night of partying with Cece (Hannah Simone): Paul (Justin Long), her very serious Bf from season one, and Bearclaw (Josh Gad), her admirer from season two. In our exclusive sneak peek at the episode, Justin Long previews his long-awaited return to the Fox hit sitcom, and kind of reveals former teacher Paul's slightly embarrassing new job. So how does Jess run into Paul? Well, after a night of partying at Bearclaw's, (never a good idea), she gets pretty thirsty on her "walk of shame" home and decides to stop »
Josh Gad, the voice behind Frozen's beloved snowman Olaf and a Tony nominee for The Book of Mormon, is known for his song-and-dance skills, and Tuesday's episode of New Girl is no exception. In "Walk of Shame," Gad returns for a threepeat as the ridiculous would-be ladies' man Bearclaw. After Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Cece (Hannah Simone) wake up in Bearclaw's den after a wild party, the actor teases that things take a turn for the "scandalous." "Things get a little bit out of control, in a surprising way," Gad, 34, tells People. As the girls try to make their way back to the loft, »

Here’s how New Girl will likely incorporate Zooey’s pregnancy: They won’t. If she’s showing during filming, they will cover her bump with big purses, lots of layers, maybe Schmidt’s fat suit, and other hijinx. But we think they should embrace that bun in Jess’ oven.
News: Relive the best TV surprises from the 2015 Golden Globes!
Why not add an adorkable baby to the loft? Jess and her roommates have already gone through four seasons worth of 30-something shenanigans. If they throw a baby into the mix, it will amp up the drama and create tons of new problems for the gang to navigate.
But who would her baby daddy be? Let’s look at the possibilities:

Last season, New Girl dropped in the ratings -- but not nearly as much as many other Fox shows. Will this quirky sitcom remain a bright spot on the network's schedule. Is it essentially guaranteed a fifth season renewal (because of syndication profits) or could it actually be cancelled? Stay tuned.
New Girl revolves around free-spirited educator Jess (Zooey Deschanel), her four single male friends (Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris, and Damon Wayans Jr.), and her childhood best friend who's now a model (Hannah Simone).
The higher a show's ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- typically the following morning, around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest. (more…) »
Whether it's an actor, producer, writer or director, it's always nice to sit down for an interview when your subject has good news. Last month, I pulled up a booth on the Clyde's set -- Yes, the booths are disconcertingly moveable -- with "New Girl" star Jake Johnson hot on the heels of the announcement of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival schedule, which includes Joe Swanberg's "Digging For Fire," an ensemble that represents Johnson's co-writing debut. Johnson also co-stars as part of a rather astounding cast including Anna Kendrick, Orlando Bloom, Brie Larson, Melanie Lynskey, Sam Rockwell, Sam Elliott and Chris Messina among many many more names. Johnson was excited about the Sundance announcement, as well as this summer's reunion with his "Safety Not Guaranteed" director Colin Trevorrow on the slightly larger scale "Jurassic World." And yes, Johnson is also excited about Season 4 of "New Girl." He has perhaps my »
