A casting notice for Jonah Hex has revealed that the movie will have two weeks of reshoots starting on January 18. The notice is searching for actors to play Native American "Cassie," wife of Josh Brolin's Hex; a nine-year-old "Travis" that "must be a match" to Brolin and Cassie; and "Jeb Turnbull," the 30-year-old son of John Malkovich's Quentin Turnbull. From this, we can infer that the reshoots will involve some flashback scenes where Hex's family is likely put in danger. Actors are also needed to play "President Andrew Johnson," a "Johnson aide," and a "dead guy."
Bloody-Disgusting reports that Warner Bros. has brought in Constantine's Francis Lawrence to consult on the reshoots. Director Jimmy Hayward is also returning for the reshoots, though clearly Warner Bros thinks he could use some help.

There's a mistaken assumption among fans and readers that online outlets find some kind of glory in reporting bad movie news. You couldn't be further than the truth. We hate it, especially if it's a film you're really, really looking forward to. The only reason I'm reporting on possible Jonah Hex troubles is because I'm hoping it'll be swiftly debunked.
SpoilerTV is reporting that Jonah Hex will be undergoing two weeks of reshoots beginning in January 2010. The casting call that has gone out would suggest that it's pretty extensive stuff -- scenes will include more of Jonah's pre-scarred life with his Native American wife, Cassie, and his son Travis. Jeb Turnbull, son of John Malkovich's Quentin Turnbull, will also be added in, as well as President Andrew Johnson himself. (If you're an Andrew Johnson lookalike, get to L.A. They need you!)

Two weeks of reshoots and/or additional shooting will take place for Jonah Hex at the beginning of the year, and a set of casting call notes has gone out describing the characters involved. There are a few significant ones: Jeb Turnbull, son of John Malkovich's primary villain, and Cassie, Hex's wife. Casting these characters implies that a couple of sequences will be shot that are flashbacks to Hex's past. Cassie is mentioned but not seen in earlier drafts of the script. One draft I read had an extensive flashback featuring Jeb Turnbull, with a couple of big scenes, so the quick either/or supposition is that either that sequence wasn't shot, or was extensively changed at the time and is now being reworked again. The former seems more likely. President Andrew Johnson is also being cast. That flashback was set in 1862, too early for him to be President »

While almost every movie gets a few days of reshoots after initial filming wraps, whenever you hear about a big studio release doing reshoots, it’s always a story.
Saying that, spoilertv is reporting Jonah Hex will be doing reshoots from Jan. 18 to Feb. 1 and they are casting for the new scenes right now. Since the movie is based on a comic book, when looking over the casting call, it’s clear what they are going to film in the reshoots. Hit the jump for more:
Here are the casting breakdowns:
[Travis] - age 9 (to play younger)… Must be a match to Josh Brolin and Native American ‘Cassie’.
[Jeb Turnbull] - son of ‘Quentin Turnbull’ (John Malkovich). 30 - 35. Skinny, southern accent. Needs one or two days for prosthetics.
[President Andrew Johnson] - 50-60. Look alike, if possible.
[Advisor] - to President Johnson. Younger, 1870’s version of a “West Wing” character. »
