Official Poster for Eduardo Sanchez’s ‘Exists’

9 hours ago | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

In 1999, director Eduardo Sanchez, along with co-director Daniel Myrick, took viewers on a terror trip into the Maryland woods with The Blair Witch Project. Now Sanchez is heading into a different expanse of wilderness—the Texas Big Thicket—to face another monster. From Lionsgate, Exists hits select theaters and VOD platforms this fall, and the wrath of Bigfoot is featured on the official poster.

Lionsgate will release Exists to select theaters and VOD platforms on October 24th:

“For five friends, it was a chance for a summer getaway— a weekend of camping in the Texas Big Thicket. But visions of a carefree vacation are shattered with an accident on a dark and desolate country road. In the wake of the accident, a bloodcurdling force of nature is unleashed—something not exactly human, but not completely animal— an urban legend come to terrifying life…and seeking murderous revenge.”

Box Office Spartans slayed the competition at the box office this weekend, with 300: Rise of an Empire taking in an estimated $45.1 million. Though the sequel, with Noam Murro at the helm in place of Zack Snyder, failed to match 300's opening numbers domestically, it outpaced the original overseas, raking in $87.8 million from 58 markets. Mr. Peabody & Sherman was yet another disappointment for DreamWorks Animation, opening in second with $32.5 million. The movie suffered from family-friendly competition like The Lego Movie, which placed #4 with an additional $10.8 million, and Frozen, which held at #8 with an additional $3 million. Last week's top movie, the Liam Neeson actioner Non-Stop, dropped to #3 with $15.8 million.
