In 2008 Yvonne moved to New York City. In the States she has been successfully working as an actress and producer. The film Forget Me Not in which she starred in, was accepted internationally in many film festivals. Yvonne played the character Ece, an Arabic mother and wife of a strict moslem Diplomat, in the comedy TV Pilot Man of the House, directed by Chris Backus, with Mira Sorvino and Fergie. She was the female lead in the film "Keep Your Enemies Closer" alongside Peter Greene and Manny Perez. In "Lily of the Feast" directed by Federico Castelluccio, Yvonne had a great scene with Paul Sorvino. In APT 5K she co-stars opposite Mel Gorham. With her production company YMC Films, Yvonne is co-producing the Thriller, "The Child" (2012), an adaptation of the bestselling novel by Sebastian Fitzek. Lead actors are Eric Roberts, Sunny Mabrey, Christian Traeumer. Yvonne stars alongside Eric Roberts, playing the role of Sophie Stern, his character's ex-wife. Filming takes place in Berlin,Germany. Yvonne is also signed on in 2012, to work in two upcoming feature films: The comedy "Numba one" by Michael Attardi and Three can keep a secret.

In her native Frankfurt/Main, Germany Yvonne Maria Schaefer began early on her career as a model and actress. As a child Schaefer studied ballet while also doing theatre and performed in several stage productions. Her Model career started of when she was 3 years old. She was discovered by a child photographer, who worked for major European catalog companies. Later on Schaefer worked internationally as a Model with Agency's in Europe, Asia and South Africa. Her modeling work has included campaigns for many top designers and sportswear companies.
