Best Summer Bodies

25 May 2012 11:14 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

We have a feeling that Julianne Hough just made it to the top of more than a few ladies' burn books. And for good reason. The 23-year-old "Rock of Ages" star's flawless bikini body is the definition of envy, earning top billing on the Women's Health 2012 "Best Summer Bodies" list.

But though Hough comes out on top, the other ladies joining the blond beauty on the list are just as smoldering. Marisa Miller nabs the runner-up spot while Lea Michele, Brooke Burke and Katharine McPhee round out the top five.

The list, which represents the "fittest and hottest beach-ready bodies" of the celebrity set, certainly showcases just that, but there are a few bikini aficionados who were noticeably left off the list -- Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and LeAnn Rimes.

American Idol Top 2 Performance Night Recap: Home Is Where the Artistry Is

23 May 2012 11:40 AM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

For the final salvo in what’s arguably been the deepest, most evenly matched field in American Idol history, Tuesday night’s Season 11 finale came up surprisingly light in the competitive fireworks department.

Maybe the Top 2 — Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips — were still heeding last week’s instructions from their fallen comrade Joshua Ledet: “No! More! Drama!” Or perhaps it was just the incongruousness of the matchup, which was akin to making a choice between a stunning courture evening gown and a perfectly battered old t-shirt. (“But what’s the occasion?” you might’ve asked.)

'Smash' Cast Sounds Off On Shake-Up

23 May 2012 9:08 AM, PDT | Aol TV. | See recent Aol TV. news »

"Smash" Season 2 will look very different (that's pretty much a good thing) and several cast members have taken to Twitter to react to the shake-up.

Raza Jaffrey (Dev), Jaime Cepero (Ellis), Brian d'Arcy James (Frank) and Will Chase (Michael Swift) are exiting stage left for Season 2. The departures come as former "Gossip Girl" executive producer Josh Safran takes control of the series from outgoing creator/showrunner Theresa Rebeck.

Some of the cast took to Twitter to respond to the big changes.

Karen will always love Dev...or at least this Kat will always love @RazaJaffrey ! I will miss you! Can't wait to see you back in NY!

Smash fans won’t have Ellis (and three other characters, for that matter) to kick around anymore

23 May 2012 8:00 AM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Like a new manager tasked with cleaning up the glitter-and-killer-peanuts mess left behind by his predecessor, Josh Safran began his tenure as showrunner on Smash with a clearing of the deadweight on the payroll. Most headline-worthy: Jaime Cepero and Raza Jaffrey’s demotion from series regulars, a choice that fans will likely cheer—nobody likes Cepero’s scheming assistant Ellis, and Jaffrey’s character cheated on Katharine McPhee so “boo, hiss” and whatnot—even if kicking conniving, philandering personalities to the curb doesn’t exactly jibe with Safran’s Gossip Girl bona fides. Cepero and Jaffrey can be found harmonizing »

Smash Axes Two Series Regulars from the Second Season

22 May 2012 5:41 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Though NBC's musical drama series Smash is coming back for a second season, not all of the regulars from the first season will have a role, and they're probably not even allowed back for the chorus (musical jokes!). Raza Jaffrey, who played Katharine McPhee's fiance in the first season and Jaime Cepero, who played the despicable assistant Ellis, have both been axed from the second season. In addition, Brian D'Arcy James, who played Debra Messing's husband Frank and Will Chase, who played the Broadway musical star with whom she cheated, are also not going to return as season regulars. More after the jump. Frankly, the exit of Jaffrey and Cepero couldn't be better. Neither of the characters added much more than people to hate in the series, and they both seemed to be rather two-dimensional. Considering the way things worked out for each of them in the season finale, »

'Smash' Cast Shake-Up For Season 2

22 May 2012 3:06 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

The cast of "Smash" Season 2 will look a bit different. According to EW, Ellis (Jaime Cepero) and Dev (Raza Jaffrey) will be written out of the show as part of the creative overhaul.

A source close to the series confirmed to The Huffington Post that both characters could appear in Season 2 to wrap-up their storylines.

Update: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brian d'Arcy James and Will Chase are also leaving the series. Chase played Michael Swift, the leading man of the show's fictional musical and one-time lover to Debra Messing's Julia. James played Frank, Julia's husband.

Season 1 of "Smash" ended with Eileen (Anjelica Huston) firing Ellis before Karen Cartwright (Katharine McPhee) took the stage as Marilyn Monroe in the Boston previews of the fictional musical "Bombshell."

Meanwhile, Karen learned of Dev's affair with Ivy (Megan Hilty) ... just episode after he proposed to Karen. While Karen was belting out »

'Smash': Jaime Cepero's Ellis and Raza Jaffrey's Dev are out as Season 2 regulars - report

22 May 2012 2:57 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Good news for Ellis haters everywhere! The annoyingly devious assistant played by Jaime Cepero on NBC's "Smash" is expected to leave the show, reports EW.com. Also out: Karen's (Katharine McPhee) cheating fiance Dev (Raza Jaffrey).

Sources say the two will not be back as regulars in the show's second season; however, it's possible that one or both could return for an episode or two to wrap up their story lines -- but nothing more.

The network had no comment regarding the actors' reported departure, but NBC would be wise to ditch these two. Fans were put off when Dev cheated on Karen with her arch nemesis Ivy (Megan Hilty), and nearly everyone has loathed Ellis and his meddling since the show's inception.

NBC plans to delay the return of Smash till mid-season.

Smash-ing Scoop: Ellis Is Exiting! Dev Is Done! [Update: Two More Season 2 Casualties!]

Smash fans worried about its future under new showrunner Josh Safran have at least two good reasons to breathe a little easier. TVLine has confirmed that polarizing (and by polarizing, we mean absolutely intolerable) characters Ellis and Dev won’t be a regular presence when Smash returns to NBC for its second season sometime in 2013.

No decision has been made whether or not Ellis and Dev’s portrayers, Jaime Cepero and Raza Jaffrey, will return to wrap up their characters’ story arcs. Nevertheless, it appears the former’s days of hallway lurking, eavesdropping, and unpleasant scheming are numbered, while the »

Two Four characters on NBC’s Smash are expected to leave the show — and we suspect fans are not going to be disappointed.

Philandering fiancé Dev (Raza Jaffrey) and devious assistant Ellis (Jaime Cepero) will not be regulars in the show’s second season, sources say. It’s possible one or both actors could appear in an episode or two to wrap up their storylines, but that’s it. The plan is to have neither character as a recurring presence in the show’s new-and-improved second season.
