Philadelphia born John Primerano is known among punks and artists
everywhere as punk filmmaker and lead singer/guitarist of the garage
rock band The Shock!!!
As a student filmmaker, an animated series pilot that he wrote, voiced, and co-produced took home a student MTV award, and that same clip fell just short of clinching a development deal with MTV animation the following year. Before his leap into live music performance, John Primerano stood as one of the few members of the general public to be given a tour of the Simpsons writing studios based on the strength of his writing and comic drawing abilities.
In 2003, John took on feature film production, as associate producer of the seminal 'Punk Rock Holocaust,' a movie hailed by the Vans Wapred Tour's Museum of Punk History, as one of the most revolutionary films in the history of the punk movement- shot on DV, this is the first 'digital punk' movie to receive a theatrical run and wide spread distribution.
He can currently be found singing and playing guitar live at dive bars and parties at over 100 gigs a year, and never slows down with low budget movie projects. He's also involved with planning the ever-outrageous Backseat Film Festival.
