Yesterday, provoked by Taylor Swift and Kristen Wiig's Penelope-esque promo, we asked for your sketch ideas for Swift. I'm with NatAttack, who wrote: "I feel it’s time for SNL to parody one of the greatest online parodies of our time: Stuff White People Like. Surely Taylor Swift belongs near the top of that list. (Love her/music but it’s true!) Some kind of pageant that pits the things white people love against each other would be grand in my book. Put Andy Sandburg in charge -- I’m pretty sure he belongs on that list too." Nic's idea could definitely work, »

The Battle Continues - Can There Be Only One?
We watched them all spring, the unlikely friends, taking stage week after week, locked in a Highlander style battle for the hearts of America. In the end, America went hottie twink over studly goth. But by then it hardly mattered - they were both rock stars. And now they're proving it.
We've got music videos from both of them in advance of their new albums. Adam leads with a movie soundtrack, while Kris comes with his first single. Which one is going to launch them into the stratosphere of Carrie Underwood?
First up is Adam Lambert, with his video from the disaster flick from out director Roland Emmerich, 2012. "Time For Miracles" features visuals that only $200 million can buy. But it's not precisely classic Adam Lambert, like we're likely to get from his album.
Then we have Kris Allen with his debut single, »

"American Idol" winner Kris Allen debuted his first music video today (although he's been the unwilling star of several hilarious/creepy fan-made Kradam tribute clips) and while "Live Like We're Dying" probably won't win any Moonmen at next year's VMAs, it's a big, bold and awesomely expensive-looking first taste of what fans can expect from Kris Allen 2.0. He's no longer "just" an "Idol" winner. He's a musician in his own right, and the video sets him up as a worthy colleague to similarly-minded artists like the Fray, OneRepublic and John Mayer.
The video starts in near-darkness, but as the clip progresses (and as he plays more instruments), the sun slowly rises until the final moments, when a new day has officially dawned. Call me sentimental (and, okay, a crazy fan), but this video perfectly mirrors Kris' "Idol" journey in a deliciously subtle way. He began as a guy with little exposure during the early episodes, »

Country queen Carrie Underwood is set to knock the King of Pop off his throne next week as the “American Idol” winner’s new set, “Play On,” is on target to sell up to 340,000 copies in its debut week. That’s more than twice as much as Michael Jackson’s “This is It” looks like it will move, according to Hits Daily Double, which puts the companion CD to the film at around 170,000 copies. There are plenty of other debuts to crow about: Gleeks are snapping up the soundtrack to “Glee,” which will come in at No. 3 with sales of 125,000... »

Earlier this year, "American Idol" third-place finisher Danny Gokey made waves when he said he was thinking of releasing a country album. Turns out, he wasn't joking, eventually signing a deal with RCA's Nashville label.
And on Friday (November 6), fans finally got to hear his first foray into the genre, when he debuted "It's Only," a swooning, countrified ballad on Milwaukee radio station FM 106.1.
Written by Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley and produced by Mark Bright (who's worked with Carrie Underwood), "It's Only" is the first single from Gokey's RCA debut, which will reportedly hit stores in March of next year. The song details the trials of the jobless and the homeless and doesn't shy away from the topic of faith, »

There's something about a star in an airport that is always sort of appealing. Perhaps it's the one true thing that equalizes celebs with everybody else, because even if an actor or musician is booked in first class, that person still has to pass through security and wait by the gate until boarding. And as Rihanna showed the world yesterday, she has the same philosophy as a lot of people when it comes to flight attire, erring on the side of comfortable and casual. The singer made her way through the security checkpoint at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York yesterday, dressed »

In death, as he was in life, Michael Jackson is still proving to be the King of Pop. In the same week that the documentary "Michael Jackson's This Is It" was the #1 movie in the land, the accompanying soundtrack will take the honors on the Billboard 200 albums chart. According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, the "This Is It" soundtrack will assume the top spot with sales of 373,000, easily besting the week's other big debut, a #2 bow by reunited rockers Creed, whose Full Circle moved 110,000 units.
Thanks to the release of a deluxe edition last Monday, Taylor Swift's Fearless will move up four spots to #3 on sales of 109,000. While the more than 4 million in total sales for the album is impressive, Swift will also notch another major milestone this week, »
