Lionsgate has promoted Randall Jackson, the company’s head of litigation, to Executive Vice President and Associate General Counsel, continuing to report to EVP & general counsel Corii Berg, it was announced Thursday.
In addition to his litigation role, Jackson leads Lionsgate’s risk management function, directs the company’s IP enforcement strategy, oversees responses to governmental inquiries, manages bankruptcy matters, and advises the C-suite and the company’s business units on critical strategic issues. As part of his newly-expanded role, Jackson will also oversee Lionsgate’s content protection and contract compliance/third-party audit groups and extend his involvement in corporate transactions and compliance matters.
In the past year Jackson oversaw Lionsgate’s insurance recovery efforts stemming from pandemic-related production shutdowns, among managing and resolving other critical litigations.

Lionsgate Television Group has signed a new first-look producing deal with Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s Le Train Train production company.
Under the terms of the new agreement, Jones and McCormack, through Le Train Train, will produce scripted television programming for various platforms.
The first project in development in the deal is romantic comedy series “Lovesick,” based on the U.K. show of the same name. It was originally produced by Clerkenwell Films. “Lovesick” is part of the scripted co-production partnership between Lionsgate and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions.
Series creator Tom Edge, Jones and McCormack are executive producers on the show. Clerkenwell Films’ Petra Fried, Ed Macdonald, Andy Baker and BBC Studios’ Angie Stephenson will all be non-writing executive producers.

Exclusive: Lionsgate has hired public relations executive Laurel Pecchia as their VP, Corporate Communications, reporting to EVP, Corporate Communications Peter Wilkes.
Pecchia will be helping with corporate media relations, executive speeches and presentations, employee communications, preparation for Board presentations and earnings calls, and liaison with the publicity teams of Lionsgate’s business units. She will also play a key role in communicating the studio’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
“Laurel is an exceptionally talented and versatile communications executive with a strong grasp of our business and where it’s heading,” Wilkes tells Deadline. “She will be a great asset in helping the Company tell its story to our constituencies.”
A graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. in Communications and French, she previously handled corporate and client media relations, wrote executive scripts and press releases and managed internal communications at WME. Prior to that, she handled publicity at CBS Films.
