Broadchurch, Poldark and EastEnders triumph at the 2015 TVChoice Awards

Broadchurch, Poldark and EastEnders were amongst the big winners at tonight's (September 7) TVChoice Awards, hosted by Lenny Henry.

David Tennant was named Best Actor for ITV's murder mystery Broadchurch, which was also awarded Best Drama Series.

Sheridan Smith won Best Actress for her portrayal of the late Cilla Black in Cilla.

Poldark made up for its Best Drama Series defeat, walking away with the Best New Drama award.

As the awards turned to the soaps, Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale shared the glory.

Alison King (Corrie's Carla Connor) was named Best Soap Actress and Danny Miller (Aaron Livesy from Emmerdale) won Best Soap Actor.

Davood Ghadami (Kush Kazemi) took the Best Soap Newcomer award back to Walford and the residents of Albert Square celebrated winning Best Soap.

Ant & Dec once again barely had enough hands for the awards they won with Saturday Night Takeaway grabbing Best Entertainment Show, whilst I'm a Celebrity… »

Shabnam Masood's baby will be stillborn in 'EastEnders'. The tragic scenes - which will air later this month - will show her and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) struggle to come to terms with the death of their unborn baby, which will have devastating effects on their lives.
